So I can order numerous steels from Europe which show up perfect but if they come from Kentucky I might as well assume there will be bullet holes in them. My strange showed up wonderfully dented and I thought it would be easy to replace but there aren't any within 250 miles of my location. CSR was kind enough to place a replacement request when stock comes in. Couple of questions CAGers may answer:

1. Have you ever had an order placed on an out of stock item? I can't find evidence of it on the site anywhere.

2. Haven't all SB come back in stock at some point? I don't care about waiting but I'd rather just get another copy when/if I see it if BB may never get any.

Thanks for any info.

From my Mad Max Fury Road experience, I can tell you that you're shit out of luck. The only Steelbook from Best Buy to get more stock was Deadpool but the reprint was different that the original release.

Has anyone able to preorder Moana 3D steelbook on BB.com? It's either still not available or completely sold out....
Not recently, though I did order it when it first went up for pre-order.

Keep an eye out this weekend and into Monday, as it should open up for in-store pickup pre-orders shortly. Monday, it might not, since things get odd with that on the day before release. If you can't do it beforehand, sit on the BB site around 1AM or so ET Tuesday morning and you might snag one.

I'm expecting mine to ship out between Thursday and Friday.

Looks like the Moana steelbook pricing is set for release week:

$27.99 for the 2D

$32.99 for the 3D

Looks like this seems to be the standard steelbook pricing from Disney now.  Even Finding Dory 2D steelbook at Target was $27.99 release week.

Disney can go fuck themselves as far as I'm concerned.  Not even including 4K and charging $30 and above is ridiculous.

Complain with your wallet by not buying them. The Finding Dory SB is still in stock at my local Target for a reason.

Looks like the SB for Passengers at BB is now 4K / 3D BD / BD / UV DC. Before, it wasn't clear if it was going to be 4K + 3D or just 4K + 2D.

Before, did it mention anything about a digital copy? I don't see it on the page, or in the art, and I know it probably WILL come with a code, but one can't be too sure.

I was hoping it will be a little bit cheaper since this was not a Marvel movie release. But i guess this is the going rate for Disney movies going forward. Is the 3D for this movie worth it?

I'll leave these up there for you to decide.

Same for me!Who still needs a Doctor Strange 3D steelbook?
I need to replace the damaged one I got in mail. I've been considering getting one off ebay but they run around 50 bucks at best. Trying to stay at 45 shipped. Don't know how much you are trying to make off of it but I'm interested if you are looking to get rid of it.

I guess contacting BB did no good to get a replacement one for the damaged one?

Sadly, after a couple of misroutes to geeksquad and a parts division the CSR laughed at me and said I'm welcome to drive 400 miles to the nearest store because otherwise I'm sol.

That's a shitty answer, especially laughing at you.

Call 612-291-1000, which is the BB corp office. Ask to speak with "Executive Customer Relations", which should end you up with the higher-level CS folks that can actually do more than laugh at you. Hopefully calling them will fix the issue without resorting to eBay.

Thankfully it came back in stock so I placed an order and so hopefully it won't be damaged since I can't ship to store.

Is that outside the range of an OMS order?
I asked the CSR and if I remember 250 miles tended to be max distance for an OMS. I didn't try because my BB can barely manage the OMS system as is and only one store even had a single copy.

The Space Jam steelbook is $7.99 as part of Best Buy's DOTD today.
I bought the Transformers movie and Labyrinth SB (amazing it was 4K and is "technically" a Disney release) but lots of the 80's and 90's cult films like Flight of the Navigator and Space Jam have aged way too poorly. I've been tempted to get a childhood movie collection with all these SB releases but I'd recommend watching some youtube reviews if you haven't watched the movie in 15 years.

Just got back from Best Buy. They got 0 copies of the 2D Mana steelbook and 1 copy of the 3D which was what I wanted and grabbed. I was second person in line and the first went to CS to pick up the new Ghost Recon.

Seems like Moana is extremely limited. Most posters over at the blu ray forums are reporting 8 2D steels at most and 3 3D steels at most.
I checked store pick up for my area this morning and the closest store with 3D steel in stock was 70 miles away so I went and ordered, will call when they open to confirm they grabbed me a 3D steel and will pick up this weekend. I have a BB around the corner from work and will go check when they open to see if there were any put out on the floor for walk ins.

I just got back from Best Buy close to work and they only had 1 2D Moana steelbook left and I grabbed the last 3D Moana steelbook.  I preordered the 3D steel months ago one when it was first announced and should be arriving today.  I purchased the one in store just in case the shipped one came damaged.  If the shipped on is in good shape, I'd be willing to help a fellow CAG out that wasn't able to pick one up.

Really just wanted to get the regular 2D release for $23 at TRU since I have a $20 RewardsRUs Certificate for there. But all this talk of the Steelbook has me thinking. There are still some available at my home store but not only would it be $30 out of pocket compared to $4 it would also be a blind buy for a movie even my kids didn't want to see.

I preordered the 2D back when BB had that surprise $10 coupon but up until the expiration date of the coupon, the 3D version never came back for preorder. I saw this morning that my BB had the 3D version in stock (same fewer than 3 message) and tried to get BB CS on the phone to change my preorder to the 3D one but she couldn't because mine was already processed for pick up. I planned on seeing if they could handle it in store and "transfer" that $10 off onto the 3D copy but they were all gone when I got there. In hindsight, I probably could've ordered the 3D one when I saw it this morning and tried to explain the situation and just returned it if they couldn't/wouldn't help. Either way, NBD as I still got $10 off the 2D version and it auto-adjusted the drop in price for me.

I went to the store close to work when they opened, no one else was there for the Moana steel. They had one of each 2D and 3D steels up in the new release island. I grabbed both in case my sister wanted one for my nieces.

The Passengers 4K/3D steelbook is down to $26.99 at Best Buy but not available to buy.  If you preordered, your price will likely adjust when it ships.  Early talk is that it could be as limited as the Moana steelbook so if it becomes available again, jump on it.

Also, the Fantastic Beasts steelbook is now sold out of preorders for the time being.  I wonder if this will be another limited one.

Underworld Blood Wars release date is 04/25/17, according to an email I just received from BB.com.

That's nice that it dropped in price, sucks that it's not orderable, nor the Fantastic Beasts SB not being orderable. It's looking like Moana again, so they also might be rare.

There is a BB employee at the blu ray forums who said his store only got 4 copies of the Passengers steel in so this definitely looks like it may be limited.
The attractive price and awesome value, considering it has 4K, 3D, 2D and DC, has me thinking about picking one up. Overall I thought the movie was just ok and the artwork is pretty meh otherwise

I was able to make a pre-order now for Passengers via Store Pickup. Worth checking out now.

The only downside to that is those quotas for in-store pickup fill up quickly, so I'd suggest people not dawdle about getting that done.

If it goes to non-order-able before Tuesday, check back on Monday evening after midnight when it shifts to release day.

Hmm, preordered Passengers SB and was sent a digital code for Sing!....uhhh

Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
Me too... I even tried to redeem the code & it didn't work. Maybe try again when Sing actually comes out.

im kicking myself missing that Moana 3D steelbook
I have an extra copy. Willing to trade for The Huntsman: Winter's War in 4K Steelbook (looking for new).

Yeah wouldn't work for me either. I ended up putting another preorder for Passangers a bit ago, and finally got a Passengers code. I'll just cancel the preorder. Quicker than contacting support. *Shrug*

So the right Passengers digital code got send correct? Did you redeem it and can start watching? Is the digital movie in 4K or 1080P? I just place another copy at a different BB for pick-up. Wonder if they'll send me another code.

Yeah just placed another in-store pickup, and got the right code the second time. It did redeem 4K through Sony's site (HDX on Vudu). However i did preorder the 4K SB if that matters.

Edit: redeem the "Sing" code on Sonypictures.com, it'll redeem as Passengers. Now i have 2 copies redeemed. Ugh
