No, I meant Mew. Celebi did the exact same thing though (10,000 point bonus and a trophy though I think the Celebi trophy was absent in the US release or something). Celebi was Gen2's Mew.
I wonder if they'll toss in Jirachi for Gen3 for completeness sake.

I love the Rockman as much as everyone else but I don't hate Pikachu. The e-mouse is just as valid a fighter as Megaman. Especially in a brawler. If we were talking about Soul Calibur (lord knows they got all kinda of cameos in that series) then Megaman would be a strange fit but Pikachu would be impossible, but for a Mascot free-for-all beat-em-up the only character that doesn't really fit is Snake in my opinion. He's too human, not cartoony enough. For future reference I apply that to all the wacked out dream characters people keep shouting like anyone from FF VII, Street Fighter or Resident Evil. I would be down for some FFI,II, or III characters. Black Mage for the WIN.
 
Black Mage would work perfectly if you take 8bit Theatre's personification of him. He'd essentially be Wario + Knives + Spells. A good combination. We could even give him a nice hat.

If we took a pure character, though, I'd like to see one of the more major players from the universe. Not Cloud or Sephiroth. Why? Because they are sissy pansy babies, that's why. Give me a true hardass like Cecil, Sabin, or Cyan. Locke would work as well, as would Kain. Rydia would be a nice female compliment. Terra would work...if she gets Magitek armor. The most obvious is a Moogle, or Moogle + Chocobo combination. Sadly, as much as I hate Cloud and Sephidork, I know those two have the highest chance of appearing (outside of Sora).

Wolfkin's post mentioning Soul Calibur makes me wonder if he saw the recent announcement concerning that series, and how the pure blood that flows in its veins has been horribly disturbed.
 
Oh lilboo, why not offer to fuck them yourself? That might instill a good amount of fear as well.

I'm worried about a delay but it doesn't make much sense being about 3 weeks from release, I would be pretty preturbed if it was indeed delayed. I just hope to god it isn't, Feb 10th is my birthday and happens to be a day with no school so I would be able to put extensive time into the game, if it was released in March then I would be kind of screwed.

Why would a specific FF character get in? Snake and Sonic have several games under their belts. If any FF character would get in I would think they would go for something a bit more widespread, like a Moogle.

Kain is a on off, Moogles have been in many games.

Although my own logic fails with Pit and Ice Climbers, but I would rather have a Moodle over any one of the main characters.

Spawn was awkward and I never played the PS2 version. My main concern as it is with everyone else isn't so much "will they use the Force as a parry like in the video?" or "how could an sword not get cut by a light saber?" Those are idiotic concerns and anyone who expresses them should be punched in the gonads (twice if they attempt to profer their own solution). My main concern. My only concern really is that Yoda is a freakin midget compared to everyone else. I was practicing my starting moves the other day just to double check and the way I play Ivy I start off with high attacks. Most of my attacks with her hit high. I don't know how they plan to address that issue but it better be AWESOME. Because otherwise it's going to suck anus.

E: Someone mentioned Chocobos. I have no idea how a Chocobo would fight, but I would approve of them. I actually still kinda hope they show up as assist trophies.

One off, you mean? Regardless, I still prefer my reasoning. Point number two was the reason they put Roy (sort-of a one-off) in Melee, and that was a huge sucess for the Fire Emblem franchise.

Since this is update 200, I think we'll get a pretty big update tonight, since 100 was Wi-Fi.


I'm predicting a new third party character, and if there is going to be a delay in the US a big update would be the day to do it to soften the blow.

Ohh. I'm REALLLY liking this a lot!!

Damn, there's so many different modes in this game. Event Mode was fun (and a pain in the ass) and now THIS is going to be something ELSE! Man!!!! I know there will be a ton of them that'll be fairly easy and you'll get without even checking..but I know there's going to be some crazy ones :cry:

So you get 3 hammers per game..? I'm not sure if if underatand this hammer thing.

Not quite. Its more like the traditional system of doing an in-game task to get an in-game reward. Thats how unlocking has worked for a long time, back to the days when it mightve been as basic as unlocking hard mode by clearing normal mode.

This is a bit unusual in that it gives you hints as to what the requirements may be.
 
Hey, has anyone thought about if the leaves/buds/flowers on the pikmin heads are random or meaningful? We can see in the Olimar updates that the three stages are in SSBB. In the Pikmin games, the longer pikmin were underground, the more powerful they would become according to their plant.

Obviously you don't keep them in the ground in SSBB. Perhaps the longer you have them running around, the more powerful they become?

Don't remind me of that. I went through the first half of the game with any where from 0-1 phoenix downs, and reset every time a character died. It felt like Fire Emblem... Oh, now I'm doing it.
 
ha. I'm still kind of afraid to start up Sacred Stone again because of that. Maybe when I finish III and Puzzle Quest I'll open my Gameboy. Even then I'll probably go back to FFI/II. Fire Emblem scares me.
 
I like the challenges. It does remind me of Kirby's Air Ride (one of the few things that enticed me to keep playing that game). There really are so many goodies in this game, and so many ways to unlock them.
 
I like how many of the "features" of Brawl are basic revisions of older features--just done better. I like that in many ways they're not reinventing the wheel, but they are doing it ten times better.
