Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase
coupon_birthday_toys.gif

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

Went to Wheaton, MD Target and picked up:

Monster Madness (PC)- $7.98
Snoopy vs. The Red Baron (PC)- $4.98

I saw, but didn't buy:

Arcade Unplugged (360)- $13.98
Burnout Dominator (ps2)- $27.98 (price I saw on the game)
Tiger Woods 07 (ps2)- $13.98
Final Fantasy (360)- $9.98

Nice to have Target clearancing items again.

Holy crap, can anyone else confirm? I knew the PC version was on clearance, but the 360 one!?

Sounds like a confused employee.
Holy crap, can anyone else confirm? I knew the PC version was on clearance, but the 360 one!?
Seems weird that it would drop from $59.99 to $7.48 with nothing in between and no one noticed.
Holy crap, can anyone else confirm? I knew the PC version was on clearance, but the 360 one!?
I think it's a typo or a mistag. I haven't seen any 360 version at any of several stores drop once let alone seen a drop on anything to 75% that fast.

Mad props on updating the list OP, but I noticed a couple of things:

There is no Need for Speed Dominator, poster must've meant Burnout Dominator which is @ 19.98 50%.

PC GTA3's lowest price is now 2.48.

360 Tomb Raider Legend and Bionicle are actually 14.98 and not 13.98. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to nitpick, it just means that those two are at 50% off and will drop one more time to 7.48 as opposed to the others which are only at 30% @13.98 and will hit 9.98 and 4.98. And they will probably drop at a different time than the 30% set. Again, I'm not complaining about the list at all as I know it takes alot of time and effort and Target's clearance pattern can be mindboggling.

Not exactly clearance, but I saw some original XBox games selling for 4.99 and 9.99. There were several, but the best were probably:
007 From Russia with Love 4.99
NFL Street 2 4.99

Saw these PS2 clearance games:
MVP Baseball 07 14.98 (50%)
Sprint Cars Road to Knoxville 13.98 (30%)

Hoping DQVIII drops below $10, so I can buy one for my friend. He just doesn't understand how it's the best game ever, so I have to buy it for him.

No, not at all. I post what people say-- I figured there was no Need for Speed: Dominator but I was far too lazy to do any fact checking. It is very difficult to watch the latest prices on my own since I do not make many trips to Target like I used to so I rely on all of the posters to update the thead. So by all means nitpick all you want for the accuracy of the list. The changes have been made, thank you for your help!

I picked up Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga last weekend for $13.98 (not the greatest deal ever, I know, but I've been meaning to grab it for a really long time). I went back to the same Target today and all the copies were back in the glass case and back at $19.99. Odd.

If I were your friend, I would tell you I don't understand how every great game is great. Maybe then you'd buy me a lot of clearanced great games. Is that wrong as a "hot deal"? :p

Not exactly clearance, but I saw some original XBox games selling for 4.99 and 9.99. There were several, but the best were probably:
007 From Russia with Love 4.99
NFL Street 2 4.99
I've seen these over the weekend, as well as :xbox:Star Wars Episode 3 for $5.

Then I went back to the same Target on Monday, and the prices were *raised*: $10 for 007 and $15 for SW and NFL:bomb:

The wierd thing is that my Target has a aisle length dedicated to cheap video games. Things like :ps2: Greatest Hits, :gc: Pokemon XD, :gba:/:ds: licensed crap, :360: TMNT and Oblivion, and :ps3: NFS.

The oddest find was multiple copies of :ps2: Tomb Raider Legend with Sam's Club price stickers!

Looks like a special display for the clueless adults to buy cheap games.

Same thing here in Richmond. I guess it's Target's version of a liquidated games shipper's display.

It looks like the drop to 75% occurred in my area (OC), picked up Titan Quest and Jewel Quest II (for my wife) for 5$ each. Took back the copy of Titan Quest I bought at 10$ for a refund :)
4.98
Sony Component Cables (added 10-07-07)
Sony S-Video Cables (added 10-07-07)
Went by last night ... my Target had the PS3 Sony S-Video cable for $4.98, but the Component cable was still $19.99. I checked it on one of the price scanners just to be sure they hadn't forgotten the sale price tag.

I also got a pair of those svideo cables last week. Figured it couldn't hurt to have an extra pair. I just wish I hadn't passed on the $10 ps3 component cables a few weeks ago.

Yesterday, I picked up:
$3.74 GE 12ft component cable
$3.74 D-Link network card

I also passed on some guitars for $65. I don't need one, but I would be tempted if they go lower.

Nabbed a PS3 Cyclone S-Video cable for 3.74 or so and Darwinia for about 2.50, last copy of Darwinia sorry guys, but its mine. :O

He has seen me play it and heard me rant about it many times, but he refuses to buy it, even at $10.

:xbox: NBA 07 13.98 (EA Sports)

Also, stumbled upon a Magnavox 37" HDTV for 633 or 663. How could I forget already?:wall: It was 15% off.

Picked up three Nyko Play and Charges. Two are available for trade. Also, none of the 360 clearance games are marked at this store and have a good shot at getting to 75% and I can get just about any PC game except the ever popular Darwinia for 75% off at several Targets here so if anyone wants in, please PM.

EDIT: Sorry, the last part will go to the trade thread.

I grabbed four Virtua Tennis for PS3 at a price of $4.96 each. They didn't have a usual clearance sticker, but rather some other large red sticker with its own bar code. It said "as is" on the sticker as well. It was the first time I'd seen one like that, but they were still sealed, so its all good. I'm pretty sure YMMV.

I've seen these more often recently. First it was damaged box stuff like a bike trailer and rollerblades. Then a BluRay 8 Under or whatever (the dog sledding movie) for like 1.97 and today one of the Bond Ultimate DVD sets for 35 down from 70. The electronics stuff looked ot be in perfect shape, so I dunno why. To be honest, some stuff that was marked like this I had never seen in any Target before such as the bike trailer. And they're always on clearance endcaps. Anyways, it definitely looks YMMV to me. And great find, by the way.

i saw Eragon, Untold legends PSP, Da Vinci for Xbox for $13.98. i passed. The guitar hero III case for the wireless controller for the 360 is $4.98.
okay guys I need clarifcation on the component cables for the PS3. are the sony brands on clearance or the psyclone brand?
Both are.

Found a handful of the 360 Guitar Hero bags for about $5.40 with tax...extra available, pm...

and a PSP "Mivies to PSP" software pack for $10 - is this worth it? or is there freeware to accomplish DVD to PSP ?

Target uses the as-is labels to sell both damaged merchandise and items they end up with that the store doesn't sell. They generally get the latter from mis-picks (and one or two other ways...) - something gets mis-packaged at the DC, so instead of a box of donuts they end up with Spanish-language DVDs. They need to use the as-is label because 1) the bar code won't scan as anything, 2) even if you stuck a normal bar code on it, there's nothing to sell it as that won't impact inventory, and 3) there's no where to put it.*

The thing is, sometimes bar codes on items the store is supposed to have still don't scan - the UPC that comes in isn't the one headquarters attached to the DCPI for the store. Some stores interpret that as a mis-pick and re-label the item. This happened to Rainbow-Six: Vegas for the PS3 when it came out. Other, smarter stores will print out their own bar code for the item, or better yet, tie the actual UPC to the Target DCPI (but not everyone knows how to do that).

*I think mis-picks are actually supposed to be sent back to the DC, but for various reasons, that often doesn't happen.

I went to a local Target (Lakewood CA) and found that they had Pokemon XD for the GameCube for 14.99. They had a rack set up and a shelf tag for that price. It might be at all Targets.

Thanks for adding this! I was really curious as to what might be "wrong" with some of those products, and your post makes a lot of sense
This should probably be in the Target clearance thread.
Except that Target clearance prices end in .98 .48 or .74. A $14.99 price point would mean it's the new price for this game instore.
It's sad how I'd buy this and play through it just to get Lugia onto my Pearl version legitimately.
You wouldn't be alone.

Hey, don't look at me.
It's sad how I'd buy this and play through it just to get Lugia onto my Pearl version legitimately.
That's the reason I picked it up at Sears a couple months ago for $20.

My Target had TONS of these last I checked. They rang up $30, though. I'll have to check this weekend if they've dropped.

u can do that? wow

I can confirm this too. The Target I went to had at least 5 copies correctly tagged on the shelf for $14.99, regular price, not a clearance.

Also of note, they completely redid the video game section. All the older system games under $20 were out in a new aisle set up in rows similar to greeting cards, and all the glass cases were almost empty. That new set-up looks like it would be way too easy to steal games, so I'm not sure why they'd even do that.

Would a 7 year old get anything out of this game? Could he figure it out? My son started watching Pokemon a few weeks ago and -loves- it.

Not sure if it was mentioned already (only checked the last 6 or so pages), but picked up SF Alpha 3 Max (PSP) for 13.88.

Mega Man X (PSP) was also 13.88.

Can't remember anything else at the moment.

Spotted yesterday @ Springhurst Target:

Xbox:
Godfather - 12.98
Path of Neo - 12.98

360:
Tiger '07 - 24.98
NHL '07 - 24.98
Tomb Raider - 14.98

DS:
Lost Magic - 12.98

That was about it, nothing for me. Hopefully more to come.

Wait, which Guitar Hero bags are these (link w/ pic, please)? Surely the bags will work for the GHIII Wii controller(s)? I could use one of those if it does...
