Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I checked the usual spots in the store (i.e. end caps and display cases). I guess there's a chance that they moved the clearanced games, but I doubt it. I'll be a little more thorough next time I'm there.

That Simpsons game goes for $19.99 used at Gamestop, so I figure I got a good deal on that two-pack. Syphon Filter and Viva Pinata are good for the ol’ return and rebuy.

Like an idiot, I passed on Need for Speed: Most Wanted (PSP) and it wasn’t there when I went back. Neither were the other copies of Castlevania, the Final Fantasies, Super Smash Bros Melees or the Guitar Hero III bundles with two guitars included.

Then, I went to another Target on Tuesday evening and bought:

High School Musical (PS2) - $9.98
Madden 2007 (PS3) - $7.48
NBA’07 (PS3) - $7.48
Paperboy/Rampage (GBA) - $4.98
Sonic the Hedgehog (GBA) - $7.48

Then, I went back to the first Target and got:

Bleach (Wii) - $24.98
Sonic Heroes/Ed, Edd and Eddy 2- Pack (PS2) - $12.48

Between that stuff and all the cheap clothes I bought including several t-shirts for $3.74 and a suit I bought at one of the Targets for around $20, I’m saying “goodbye” to my rent money and “hello” to poverty…but I’ll have plenty of games to play.

I think the only thing you're doing wrong is living in an area where the Targets don't mark down their games. I have the same problem here, I went into my local store and the only current gen (PSWii60) game they had was The Biggs for the 360 and it was clearanced at $39.99 .... I ing hate my Targets!

Yeah, if you're interested in getting into the import GameCube scene, the original black and purple GameCubes are the only ones that work with the Action Replay and Freeloader devices that allow you to play Japanese and European games on a U.S. machine. With Nintendo constantly adding updates to their Wii games to knock out those devices' playability on the Wii, it's essential that an import lover own an original Cube.

I believe only Rise of the Silver Surfer is available for the 360. I got this for $5.04 back in November, than they had the Thanksgiving sale and had it with a generic sku for $19.99. It was funny seeing them next to each other. It may just be the generic sku, I know that Ultimate Alliance and Def Jam Icon are $7.48 in MN and they had a generic sku. It says something like "Assorted XBOX 360Games" instead of the title.

K. Thanks. I'll try and see if I can find it anywhere. I know the 2 Targets I went to today didn't have it on clearence. Not to say it isn't in the glass case, but I doubt it considering it's an older game.

Also, Viva Pinata Party Animals is still $7.48 here (I used the $10 off coupon so it doesn't really matter much) while the original Viva Pinata game is still $20 at both stores. Not even on clearence, and one the stores didn't even have it on the shelves, but rather in the back room. Said it was discontinued.

You should have tried to grab a new one at Sears a couple months ago (maybe it's been longer) for under $30 when they got put on clearance. The only issue you might have had was that it was the silver one, not black or purple.

EDIT: I got a silver one then. I already own a purple one though from when it was bundled with Mario Sunshine (which was a LONG time ago).

They were all 50% off, but the only one I know for sure the price of is the Mystery Dungeon 2 Guide which was 9.98.

Yea, I saw that Pokemon Mystery Dungeon at a local Target too. I just thought it was mislabeled because of the other Pokemon guides, but I guess not.

More than likely the Price Change Team Leader decided to give the game a final clearance before going to salvage. They used to have this option and I'm guessing they still do. At this final point, they can make the price any reasonable number, IIRC.
