10 dollars off 360 game
Target10OffXboxTogether.jpg

Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I went to my Target today. They had Unreal Tournament 3 PC on clearance for $35.

Also, has anyone on here played ET: Quake Wars and liked it? How about Naruto 360? Or Viva Pinata Party Animals?

Maybe people should actually comment on whether or not these games are worth it for most people. Just a quick extra note if they pick something up and really like it. Or does everyone just like the part where they get the game for super-cheap and leave the game on the shelf at home?

Also, my Target has Easter candy on 75% off clearance. They had a bunch of Cadbury Orange Cream eggs for 50 cents each. I picked up a bunch of extras AND HAVE NO INTENTION OF KEEPING THEM. Actually, I tried some and didn't really like them. I can't really recommend that anyone buys them.

Maybe he is hinting that they are up for trade...:whistle2:#

I went back to my Target today, same stuff as last week. I got the last copy of Crackdown, with it's orange "DO NOT OPEN BEFORE 2/20/07" border.

If anyone finds Heavenly Sword, if it's cheap, let me know.

throw the eggs at homeless people* then they get all mad at you but when they see the egg they'll think "hey, free egg"

*dont really throw them at people

Nothing really new at my closest Target, though now I know there's a hoarder who has a flea market stand who hits all of the stores here for cheap stuff bright and early. So, besides the local CAGs, I know I have even MORE competition for deals now.

On a semi-related note, I decided since the other local Target sold it's ONLY copy of Shadow Of The Collossus, I'd open my $13.98 GH copy and try it out. The controls took some getting used to and I wandered about aimlessly for a while, but I'm up to the 3rd Collosi now and I'm HOOKED. This game is so engrossing and while trying to keep hold of the beasties after you get on them is a bit tough at times, it's well worth the struggle.
What are you gonna do with them? None of the target's around here allow returns on seasonal items 50% off +
Yes. But video game clearance isn't seasonal. It's video games. Except for The Bible Game for Xbox, maybe, but I wasn't sure if that mentioned holidays or not...:whistle2:k
You guys are Target clearance beasts! I leave CAG for three days and have to go through nine pages. Beasts!
I need to ask though, a poster mentioned the ability to flip the F1 racing game for PS3 for 30 dollars at Game Rush and mentioned that it would cost 15. Does that mean there's been a drop on F1? I wanted to pick that up at the 15 dollar price point. If anyone else can confirm, that would be swell.

It was still marked $29.98 when I was at my local Target the other day, though I'm sure once it hits $15 the damned guy from the flea market will snap them all up. They had copies of Def Jam Icon as recently as last week there, which were long gone the other night.

Though, if I did buy any to flip, it'd be tough, since we only have Blockbuster stores around here and NO GAMERUSHES and the BBV stores stopped selling systems a LONG TIME AGO.

Oooooooooooooooooooooh. I saw the "AND I HAVE NO INTENTION OF KEEPING THEM" being quoted by Veronica and assumed it was DJKunai and his two copies of Crackdown. I didn't pay attention to the fact it was the Cadbury egg man.
My bad.
You are right though. I don't know if you mean just that flavor of Cadburry egg, but I think all Cadburry eggs are over rated. Not really that good.

Cadburry Cream Eggs are a staple for easter. Every year I have to get my fix, but I always am left scrambling around town because I wait to purchase them after Easter. This year I was shocked to find/score some at Wal-Mart. They're usually picked over by Easter Day.

Same here. I lucky found a box of 38 eggs at Sams for $15 like 2 months before Easter.

Still got half the box left :D

Wow, you guys must have the magical lands od Targets. Michigan is horrible at getting deals first. As I said...F1 has been $41.98 at at least 3 Targets around here. I hope it drops soon along with those Halo controllers...but I have a feeling it would go to $24/$27 first.

They're selling them for $.28 each at a store near here, with about a box (48 pack) and a half of singles left. Went in and picked up 15 yesterday, may go back in and get more today. Have to stock up for the rest of the year. :D

Weird find yesterday.

My local Target had a copy of :360: Blue Dragon suddenly appear between Monday and Thursday. This store hasn't had Blue Dragon for months, even before it went to clearance. Yet there it was yesterday without any sticker on the clearance endcap.

It still rings up at $14.98 and is still in the system.

I also picked up some Reese's Fudge Peanut Butter eggs for 69 cents.:bouncy:

My target had 100 packs of DVD +/- on clearance for $20. That's a good deal by itself, but they should drop further, at least at mine, due to high stock. I only recall Sony and Memorex. There could have been other brands.

My closest target is selling stranglehold for 41.98 -_-

in other news, they were clearancing some Logitech Harmony Remotes :) Think there's an outside shot that it'll hit 75% off?

Yeah, get those Memorex ! They will make great coasters ! CMC MAG is the absolute worst media there is ! Memersux ! Sony is by far a superior media. Although Taiyo Yuden is by far the best of them all ! ;) July is coming though and people do need a good coaster for that Iced Tea and Memorex does make a pretty shiny one ! :) I have saved files to Memorsux DVD media a few years ago and not one of the fifty work, on the other hand 99% of the Sony's work like new. No media is 100% but I have used about 200 Sonys, so I know what I am talking about. This comes from testing both Sony and Memorex on 4 different computers.

What are you talking about? The Memorex are Ritek discs, just carrying the Memorex brand. Sony is a crapshoot until you actually put the disc in your computer because they outsource some of their manufacturing. But I guess 200 discs is a pretty comprehensive survey of all blank media...

All blank media has risks, however out of 1000's of blanks, the Sony discs I have tried (granted, I didn't note the actual manufacturer) have had the second highest fail-rate (Philips was the first). On the flip side, Verbatim has been most reliable, with Memorex a close second. Anymore though, coasters aren't due so much to the media as they are to user error in setting up a burn.

We use Memorex CDs and DVDs for our business. In the past 2 years I've probably burned at least 500 discs, and had 1 or 2 become a coaster. It's all I buy, and until I have a major problem with them, will be the only brand I use.

Agreed. I've also burned several hundred Memorex CDs and DVDs and haven't had a coaster yet. They have earned my loyalty and business.

Thanks for chiming in guys. For a second there I thought I was crazy for recommending the Memorex. $.20 a disc is one of the best deals I've seen in non-bulk (500 or more), so it might be worth grabbing some if your store has them in case they're all gone before the next round of markdowns.

Smaller targets will ship clearance items to larger targets in the area.
Or you can just be a smart shopper and keep your old receipt. ;)
If you're a real smart shopper you would also know that you don't need your receipt to return an item to Target, IF you used a credit card.

But in defense of you're statement, even though I detected a note of one up manship, is when you buy multiple copies of an item at multiple price points, with the reciept you can guarantee a refund of whatever the price is on the receipt. This may not seem like rocket science, BUT if you try to return an item without the receipt, they will only credit you for the most recent purchase price.

My point that apparently I didn't make clear to you, is that I was able to return the item I had just bought, without needing to match the item to an original receipt, thus saving myself the headache of looking through the hundreds of target receipts.

Every week there's a sale. DVDs will be $13-15 for a 50 pk, and $23-25 for a 100 pk. The brand will vary, but they rotate.

Best Buy: Switches between Verbatim, Memorex, TDK, Sony, Maxell, & Dynex (stay away)

Circuit City: Pretty much nextech and phillips. I'd stay away from nextech, but phillips is ok.

Staples: Rotates Memorex, Sony, Maxell & Staples.

Office Depot: Rotates Memorex, Maxell, Ativa, & Office Depot.

As for the question of which media is better, consider this:
Discs branded by Memorex that are currently in stores will either be made by CMC Magnetics, or Ritek. CMC gets lower marks than Ritek, but should still do the job if your equipment is worth anything. Older DVD players may have trouble on some burns (skipping or read errors), but just about any dvd player in the last couple years shouldn't have problems.

Discs branded by Sony will be either Sony OEM or Taiyo Yuden. Easy way to tell is if it's a white octagon spacer at the top of the spindle, it's TY. Taiyo Yuden is the most reliable of all single layer DVD media, but that's not to say lower quality burning hardware, or lower-end/older dvd players are exempt from having problems. Sony's media is very reliable as well, though scores lower than TY.

Discs branded by Maxell are either ProDisc or Ritek. The more shiny ones will be ProDisc, and the dark gold ones are Ritek. ProDisc used to be great, but the last batch I got ahold of from them wasn't too impressive, so I'd say Ritek is better (Ritek is actually a more trusted name, and pretty much ranked right below Taiyo Yuden in SL DVD media).

TDK, Phillips, Ativa, Office Depot, & Staples are all CMC Magnetics.

Dynex & Nextech (Best Buy's & Circuit City's brands, respectively) are somewhat of a mystery to me. I remember getting a media code from them quite some time ago leading me to believe they came from CMC magnetics, but both brands scored significantly lower than any other CMCM disc in every test I gave them. They may have gotten their lead-in info from CMC, however, and did the rest themselves (poor job, though). I'd advise you to stay away from both Dynex & Nextech.

Hope that helps :)

I have no desire to "one up" your "manship" - but yes, I'm aware you don't need a receipt for credit card purchases to be returned. The ;) in the post was just a friggin' wink to say that sometimes the old way is still fine to make returns. Good for you for being sneeky. I'm too old and lazy to do stuff like that. If I do find a cheaper deal, I will just return the new item with the old receipt.

Now can we carry on the normal posts here on Target deals?

it also has a lot to do with what burner you have. some burners burn certain media better than others. if you have nero you can do a pi/po test to check the quality.

I have a copy Blue Dragon and new World in Conflict collectors edition for trade, im looking for some PS3 games. No price drops in the Irving, TX area.

My Target in Eugene has not had any drops in any of the clearance stuff in a month now :( Quake wars is stil 27.xx and Empire earth is still 30$ :(

Last summer I picked up 5 50 packs of the Memorex DVD +r (I think) with "as is" stickers for $3.XX each:) and have had very few problems with them. Best deal I think I've found yet

Went back this afternoon and grabbed Lego SW II for the 360 for $9.98. Again upstate NY Clifton Park Store. They had Stranglehold for $14.98 Crackdown for $14.98 PGR4 for $29.98 and a slew of PS2 games for $9.98 all with the orange clearance stickers.

Went to my local Target today, and nothing too good. In the glass, there was NHL 2k8, College Hoops 2k8, and Stranglehold for $29.98. Then, there was also Simpsons Game for $24.98. I really want Stranglehold and Simpsons, but will wait until they hit $15 and $12.50 as there were about 5 copies of each. Also, no Naruto markdownm and I noticed that Fantastic Four which was clearanced for like $7 before, went up to $19.99, as some "2 Day sale" I guess, based upon the fact its name was 2 Day Fantastic Four, instead of just FF:RotSS. In a remote part of the electronics where I don't usually see clearance, there was the Bee Game for $12.48. All of these were for 360, and I didn't pick any up. No Crackdowns in sight :(

I called a bunch of Targets around where I live and none of them had Crackdown in stock. Has anyone spotted the game in any store locations in the Los Angeles area?

My local Target had LOTR: Shadows of Angmar for $13.89, had like 4 copies. I didn't pick any up and was there relatively late (9:00) PM so they should be there 2morrow. Just PM me and I can pick some up for cost + shipping if anyone wants one.

NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER CALL A STORE ASKING ABOUT A DEAL!!! Unless you intend on going there IN PERSON to check for a deal, you may tip off any employees who may snatch up the games.

So, if you can't find those games at your local store(s) and called before just going to the store to check, you only have yourself to blame for the lack of deals.

As I've said before, the logic here appear faulty to me. If someone is working there that is either a) a gamer or b) a hoarder, they would already know about the deals. I know that if I worked in retail, I'd pay attention to every, single game deal there was. So, calling them isn't going to change anything. If they are gamers or hoarders, they have already cleared out the store.

Personally, I never bother calling a store, because the employees a) don't know about the prices b) don't care enough to help you, or c) a little bit of both.

You said it! I know for a fact that the employees in Holyoke, MA snag up all the good game clearance deals, leaving nothing for us!!!!! Damn them!!!

Go to the store yourself and check the price. ALL Targets have price scanners for public use and that way you can actually BUY the game while you're there!

Dude... chill. I only called and asked stores if they had the game in stock. I didn't mention a price or ask about it being on clearance. Maybe some people in here have the time and money to drive to a bunch of stores, but I don't.

Besides, employees will find out about clearance deals when someone buys an item for cheap.
I noticed that Fantastic Four which was clearanced for like $7 before, went up to $19.99, as some "2 Day sale" I guess, based upon the fact its name was 2 Day Fantastic Four, instead of just FF:RotSS.
I'm pretty sure that was the 2 day sale from Black Friday-Kinda Dark Gray Saturday
