Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

It's very possible they forgot to put stickers on it. If you don't have a printout of the UPC to scan yourself, just ask someone in the department to check it for you. If they ask why then say "I saw it on clearance at another Target."

This seems to be the case at each Target I hit! Got sick of hunting down clerks to open case and scan, so went to the UPC database and printed a small batch of key titles, so I can check myself. Now, I rarely make it back to the game section, as I know pretty much what each store has available, so a quick stop to the closest scanner and I'm out the door (if no drops noticed)

Crackdown has disappeared everywhere, except for one store I noticed which had 7 copies behind the case marked at $29.99 for last few weeks. I went again tonight, but scanned my UPC before heading back and presto, $14.98! I always get a chuckle out of the clerks who work in the store and have ALL DAY to check prices, but act shocked and amazed when I purchase a game and the price in system is lower than stickered. I love my job, but best believe if I was working in retail around games/dvds, I'd be aware of price drops AND take first grab of anything I wanted the second they drop. Thank goodness for lazy employees

all this talk about fw and sd. yes im sure some people buy multiple copies to resell. im also sure some of these resellers have never even heard of sd/fw/cag. I'm also sure that there are even resellers who get the bulk of their info from cag, not from sd/fw. But honestly if a game goes on clearance, and is marked down 30,50,75% off, I'm sure it will catch a lot people's eye and they will buy it. Also, because it is done by the stores themselves, employees are often the first to know about these markdowns, and will buy it for themselves or notify a friend. the vendetta you have against fw/sd is ridiculous. you guys blame them for everything. I mean any of you hear of capitalism?

Everytime i get there, it's pretty much cleaned out. all i want is one copy of the game for myself, not looking to buy up all of the copies of the games that are available. I was pissed last week when i went there to buy 1 copy of folklore on clearance, but they were all gone.

I agree with you almost 100%. However, after years of lurking all three sites, I have noticed that there are abnormally high concentrations of deal-hunters in a few parts of the country. In normal-land, your store may have a few internet-savvy cheapasses and the rest of clearance stock goes to everyday shoppers who see a PS3 game for $10 and buy it on a whim, the way clearance is supposed to work. In these backwards deal-lands, cheapasses swoop in as soon as markdowns are made and wrestle each other to the death over $1.24 HeroClix figures that they can resell on ebay for $1.25.

Always scan it. Someone new has been hitting my target lately and they pull off the clearance tags, so that no one else knows the items are on clearance. I hope they catch the person and ban them from the store.

Ha ha thats a pretty good strategy seeing it helped me get alot of games at CC due to people being chased off by the original sticker price because the store never markes them down when they drop. People just cant hesitate anymore if you see something and its pretty low just buy it because most likely after you put it back down someone else wont.

OK, went to my local Target again this morning and saw 4 copies of Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar for $13.98. I think the OP could be updated, didn't see it there. They also had 1 copy of Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth (PC) sitting with the clearance stuff...it scanned @ $9.99...

Stopped by my store yesterday and a copy of Ninja Gaiden Sigma mysteriously showed up in the case. I don't remember seeing any copies at all there ever. One of those Halo controllers showed up also, but it scanned at $42. These things have been on clearance since November, I wonder if it will go to salvage as soon as the employees try to figure out where it belongs. I'd like to pick up an extra controller but not at $42.

I checked there last weekend, before hitting the Circuit City nearby for $1.21 AA batteries, the Energizer Max 16 packs were on clearance.

I made a thread about it actually, but I also plan on going down there today again and checking the store over again, to make sure I didn't miss anymore sections with batteries and maybe one where the AAA's that were mentioned on SD as being .83 a pack are actually marked as such.

I was kind of annoyed that they sold out of the only copy of Shadow Of The Collossus at the WB store because I wanted to wait for it to drop to $9.98 and return/rebuy a copy to get it for cheaper.

But, I cracked it open the other night and I must say that I am amazed and in awe. I thought it was just another game like Ico, where you have to drag some helpless girl around with you the whole game.

i picked up the only 2 copies of .hack gu part 3 laurel mall kmart had, since they finally dropped them to $20. Also got dawn of mana and kuon for free from my e-rewards gift card, plus the 25% coupon and 10% more with my edge card. At the other gamestop i picked up ico and spy vs spy(xbox) for a total of $24.09 with those same discounts. didn't have too bad of a day. oh, plus i found another copy of grimgrimoire at hazleton wal-mart for $19.82. Alot of the stuff i got todat, i'm hoping to trade away, minus dawn of mana, spy vs spy, and a copy of tony hawks project 8 i also bought for myself for $24.00 sealed at kmart.

Got Simpsons on 360 for $25.

Read from others that it's funny and pretty decent, so I figured why not.

Definately funny, can't remember the last game I actually thought was funny. Some of the levels are great, some are just okay (the demo level is one of the ok ones). One of the most creative games I've played in a long time. Camera is annoying on certain parts too. I'm really suprised how much I'm liking it.

I now put anything I may be interested in, in the cart and scan everything. Not trusting what the clearance tags are marked.

FSX requires a beast of a machine. Don't bother picking it up if you have a single core system because you will have to turn a lot of settings down. Dual and Quad Cores with a 7800+ card should do fine.

My local one has Supreme Commander at $20.98, one Target 20 miles away had it at $7.48. Also, the far away one had some PC games on clearance (like The Movies) but were full price at my local one.

It was the Hori earbuds. I don't mind the price i payed though. They are really nice. I've only tried them with Kirby Canvas Curse though. I saw no need for a mic yet.

I'll have a few official sony brand ps1 and ps2 cards available for trade/sell in a few days. I'm just waiting for the memory card download chord to arrive, that a few of us on gametz are sawpping around.
