Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

at the target by my job (houston,tx) they had orange box for 29.98, motorstorm 24.98, nba 08 24.98, and lair for 29.98, thpg for 24.98. picked up a copy of orange box

The Target closest to me had Lair, Motorstorm and Orange Box(all for PS3) on clearance, though I believe 2 of them were $41 and one was $29.98. I didn't really focus on trying to remember which was which.

They also had LSW II for 360 for $4.98, as well as copies for the original Xbox. They had one lone copy of San Andreas(Platinum Hits) for $4.98 as well.

So, if San Andreas finally dropped, I wonder if they would've dropped Shadow Of The Collossus to that too? Guess I'll never know, since the local Targets sold out of it. I'm also have tempted to buy their lone copy of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the original Xbox and take it back with my receipt to get a whole $5 back, but it's just too much hassle and work to be bothered to do it.

the newer 40 gig ps3 models have NO backwards compatability. The original 60 gig (and smaller 20 gig) have the emotion engine. The 80 gig one utilizes software emulation, so compatability is not as high as the 60 gig...

I'm STILL glad I bought mine when I did, since the place I had my copy stashed is now an empty slot on the $19.99 game wall that most Targets I've been to have, so it would've been found and bought before it could've dropped to $4.98 I'm sure.

It hurt like hell paying more than $2-5 for a game, but with the sense of awe I've had while playing the game(and I was one who used to badmouth it as some lame Ico sequel), I'm definitely impressed and wondering why I didn't buy this game SOONER now.

Although, I will say one thing, that the difficulty level ramps up quite a bit after the fourth or fifth collosi, which had me going 'wtf' the other day after many levels of 'chase them, find the spot to jump up and grab onto their hair, climb up and kill 'em'.

I went to 2 targets this mourning and the first one had a clearance rack. They had these ps3 games for $15 nba homecourt, genji, fear, and had a clearance tag of 41.98 for lair and orange box. The other target had no clearance rack and lair and orange box were tagged 29.98.. I hope it doesnt drop down to $15 because i just bought lair off of ebay for $20 shipped brand new. None of the targets had shadow of colossus which i was really lookin for.

The only store that has them listed at $12 and $15 is the Steelyard Commons Target - and store doesn't even have them in stock. The difficulty ramps up as soon as you get off your horse and try to do anything. The control scheme seemed unecessarily obtuse and I couldn't grasp it. I went from being awed by the first collosi to being pissed very quickly. I took a break, because I really wanted to like the game, and every time I came back I just resented the thing. I got this game for free and tried and tried to like it and finally traded it away.

I think it deserves all the praise it has received (it is beautiful), but I just wanted to put another opinion out there.

Believe me, when I ran into the first collosi that did anything other than lumber around or swing a big club or something at me, I was like 'WHOA'. My one buddy and I took turns on the 7th or 8th one, which was able to crawl up walls and shot some sort of poison cloud or electricity or something out of it's mouth.

It's definitely a game that ramps up the frustration level with the difficulty level in equal parts, but it's still a great game, just by the perspective of the size difference between your character and horse and the scale of the collosi.

This was a big deal to me before owning a ps3, but now that i do, i'm too busy with playing ps3 games to worry about the older ones, atleast at the moment. I guess the graphics are keeping me mezmerized pretty well, since i haven't touched my Wii since getting my ps3 in jan. Hoping to break it back out for mario kart next month, but may end up being too busy with gta4.
