This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I know I'm the only one who remotely cares about this, but has anyone seen Turning Point for the PC for under $20.98? It hasn't dropped in 3 weeks.

American Idol for the Xbox 360 dropped to $24.99.

Heavenly Sword still no drop they had 5 copies left I am hoping for something next week.

goodness this wait for the heavenly sword drop is killing me, its the 29.98 or whatever at my store, and two copies left. i know that it is entirely speculation and no one knows but what is the regular schedule for drops, like do they go like 2-3 weeks between drops?
 
The only new clearance game I saw was NCAA football 08 (360 version) for $14/$19 at different stores. Heavenly Sword didn't drop below $29.xx. On a side note: How is the NCAA March Madness 08 for 360 still 49.xx?

It took well over a month, probably close to 2, for Lair to drop from $29.98 to $14.98 at one of my Targets. There really is no way of knowing when it will drop, but I wouldn't be surprised if HS doesn't drop to $15 for some time.

Different stores are different with the time it takes. Personally, I'm going to keep an eye on this thread and once people start finding it for $15 I'll start checking the one Target by me which has several copies every Monday morning from then on out.

HS still 29.98, AI:KR still 34.98 & TH:pG still 27.98... whats up with this... also i saw an HD-DVD player but it was out of system and manager didn't want to sell it :(

as far as i know, there hasnt been ANY greatest hits for the PS3 as of yet... plus even if there were, they usually do it a year after it was released and HS came out last september.

^I did that about 2 weeks ago. I'm now waiting for a drop to $12.48. :twisted:
 
Went to another 2 stores and still no Heavenly Sword in sight. :cry:

Saw American Idol Encore Xbox 360 for $24.98 and Dancing with the Stars Wii for $20.98.

Picked up Hot Brain PSP and Dancing with the Stars PS2 for $7.48 each because of the cheap price. Not sure if I should keep them though. Are they any good?
 
Well, there were no drops whatsoever at my Target. AI was still $34.98 (and I typed the DCPI into the scanner to be sure since the game was still locked up). This store is particularly annoying because they have all the clearance stuff, even $7.48 PS2 games (NASCAR 08), locked in the cases. Yet they have an entire aisle of "value" games sitting out in the open, most of which cost more than the clearance games. They seemed to have gotten rid of the clearance endcap so they put them back in the cases I guess.

They did have Wiis in stock though fairly late Monday evening - actually saw them there in the bottom of the case where they usually have the "Out of stock" sign.
 
Picked up Parappa - PSP for $7.98.
Also spotted Smackdown vs. Raw - PSP for $9.98

Only 360 drop was Soldier of Fortune $41.xx

No PS3 drops either HS and MX vs ATV still $41.xx
 
i stopped checking target ever since the 10off360 expired and just stopped by a target on my way home from running errands. they had loads of flipping material, but i don't have the balls to try the coupon even though it still scans.

2x american idol - 24.98
2x esa 3-pack - 14.98
3x viva pinata - 7.48

everyone here knows those are easy 4x-5x flips using the coupon and viva pinata would be free as well.

Other then over priced old sports games I'm pretty much in the same boat. I did find a copy of "The Darkness" for $20 I was thinking about buying but I'll wait till I finish up MGS4 and make a decision about picking it up soon if it's still there...

Whoa a new drop. I heard this game was pretty bad, but for $10 I might bite. Assuming that it was originally $40 aka 75% off. I rarely see games at my Target go below 75%.
 
What was once a plentiful clearance end-cap has become barren. And I mean it was plentiful! Now there was only like two copies of the fall of liberty PC game for around $30 with ZERO CONSOLE & HANDHELD GAMES.

Got a Viva Pinata Strat Guide for 4.24 also saw a copy of Timeshift (360) for 19.98 but passed. Have it for PC from previous clearance for 12.48, HS still hanging at 41.98
 
I checked my Target yesterday (which previously had a stack of Super Mario Advance 3/4's and FF XII DS's) and it was cleared out.

Bah.
 
Saw last night:

NCAA College Football 360 - $14.98 (was denied $10 coupon- expired)

360 3-pack is still at $20.98. I have only seen 2 copies of the 3-pack in my area. Only 1 left.

Yea it seems to be happening around the valley. I went to two targets in scottsdale and they had nothing that even looked like a clearance end cap or rack. Either they moved it or got rid of them completely. Is something happening with Target and their clearance games or is it just me? Did something happen (like a pissed off customer or the employees got wise to the clearance stuff) and now Target is no longer doing a clearance for games? I hope not...
 
Damn!! The only game on the list I want is Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS) and niether of my Targets has it anymore.
Does anyone know what is "Civilization The Complete Collection " ? Is this item "sid meier's civilization chronicles"?
 
Super Target in Dallas TX had one (now none) pink 360 recharable battery pack for $2.98 got that and a Psyclone play and charge kit (battery+cable) for $14.99. Besides that no good deals to speak of.

I thought the same thing with my local Target (in PA) but it seems they decided to relocate then near the PC game section. They were previously on an end cap near the PC peripherals for the past year which has now been overtaken with $20 and under games (I thought I hit a serious windfall when I saw the piles of games only to find out they were budget priced titles that were just moved there). Other CAG's are reporting the clearance section in different areas of the store as well. When in doubt probably ask the clerk in electronics where the clearance games have been moved too.

Nothing new for me.
 
The Target near me moved their clearance games to the DVD section, where it used to be on an endcap towards the gardening section. Just happened this past Monday. I also recommend asking someone - I never would have found it without asking.

This happened at one of my local stores recently. Did you ask an associate to check the back or ask if they were moved to a different endcap?

I guess I have a little "insider" information on this, have a relative working at a Target in management... I believe they refer to this as new Planograms or something. If the endcap that held the clearance stuff disappears, they likely had to set up a new planogram/endcap of a product Target is trying to push. For example.. they get a wall of earphones that are being pushed. What likely happened was that the night stockers stripped the clearance endcap, threw it all in a buggy or a couple of boxes, because they were in a rush to through up the freight by opening until they figure out a place to put the clearance electronics.

Target kind of frowns on this though, they want to push the clearance stuff and get rid of it to free up shelf space (let's face it.. in terms of inventory management or shelf real estate to maximize sales, Target does a much better job of it than most B&M retailers). Remember.. old product not being sold is loss of exposure for new products that will sell on given shelf space.

Just ask someone there.. the only other possibility is that they were dropped from the system, and it's all been carted off to Goodwill. Most Target stores do this.. a practice that I find admirable. Hope this gives a little insight.. I know seeing the disappearance of what has become the greatest source of CAGness thus far this year would effectively suck.
