This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Burst Limit is an okay game...just like the show there's crappy dubbing.

Anyways I'll check the other Target on my way home from work tomorrow as well as check the one I was at today.

Man, I got lucky at the Niles, IL Target.

GRID and Lost Oddessy for $14.98 each. I've been waiting for these to drop and I got them at the sweet price before they sold out.
 
EOJ was tagged as $34.98 but when it rang up,it was $17.9X.Also picked up Lost Odyssey and Scene It for $14.98.Saw GRID for $14.98.All for 360 except for the EOJ bundle.

I got six copies of Lost Odyssey for 15, and four copies of Scene It! for 15.


I just couldn't find Viking or Blast Works!

well I was excited because i saw three copies of Grid for the 360 sitting on the shelf for 15 dollars, but then i looked closer... some jackass cut the seal on all three of them and took the discs out. I wasn't happy to say the least.

WOW. either its a little kid or someone just cant afford $17 (tax incl.). Makes me think about how lazy people (teens) are getting about working for money.

I've come across a few CAG's facing this dilemma. Though CAG most likely hooked them up with the information to score these clearance titles they also are aware of the flipping movement.

Found LO and Scene It! for $15 each at 135 and Smith Valley on the south side of Indy. GTA4 SE still $45. I got the last Scene It, but there were still a couple LOs left.

Oh, and there were about 10 Grids for $15.

I'm not sure how helpful this is. I just checked my zipcode and it lists Out of Stock for Targets that I'm almost certain have copies (at least they did yesterday evening).

A lot of the time theft isn't about not having the money for it, it's just about moments of opportunity, the thrill of it, a "because I can" mentality, etc. I mean, how many people are out there that pirate games, and how many actually can't afford them?

Some people just like to steal things. Not that I'm saying that's any better or worse than just being lazy, I'm just saying that's how it is.
 
1 copy of Lost Odyssey and plenty of Scene It at Fort Wayne, IN Glenbrook Target left as of yesterday when I went. (Picked up a copy of LO) :)

Hoarders are bad enough. Vocal ones are even worse. I hope fettmaster chokes on every goddamn game he bought.:bomb:

There are some stores with leftovers after fettmaster's jackass clearance feast. I'll let him/her waste his gas trying to figure out where. Active Richmond CAGers (more than 30 posts) can contact me if you're looking for specific items.

Or maybe he bought them to use as trade fodder with other CAGers or to sell to fellow local CAGers at cost? I know we do this a lot over in the Atlanta thread. Did you ever think of that? Probably not.

As you can see members here to help the community offer up there games or are willing to pick up extra copies at there local stores. It is somewhat understandable why you might come to fettmaster's defense. However, seeing as how you've only been an active member since Jan 2008 you might not have seen all the BS some members pull here.

Sorry but this site has always been like this,, before the Target clearance **(correction) a lot of people would horde the EB GAMES moring clearance. This was done a few years back. Early in the mornings, EB games would alot a certain amount of games and cut the prices to 70-90% on both new and used games and put them up online only until they were gone. I cant tell you how many flamewars there were just like some of these about people here hoarding them, and this and that. I have been here for a long time and its always the same stuff just new people complaining..

Also I want to point out that I pretty gave up on trading/hooking cags up a long time ago due to being ripped off ( ie game not being sent or filing false paypal claim) and people not returning the favor. If I see a local cag'er in the store I will hook them up but other than that I will get what I need because there are so many other resellers here in Jacksonville, Fl and with a GAMESTOP next door now to every target here in jax( yes I have ran into GAMESTOP employees cleaning racks at target, even the electronic people tell me this), these clearances games dont last past noon here.

Now I want to point out that if there were people I know I could trust I wouldnt have a problem, but as my current track records stands, I havent had luck with online trading in the comm and its not something Im itching to get back into. I know it works for some but not for others and its just not my cup of tea.

Yeah im not that stupid and highly doubt that is the intentions of this particular CAG.I learned the hard way on how much some people on this site are willing to help out other CAG when it comes to finding clearance items.. A guy said he grabbed like 5 copies of Hot Shots Tennis for the PS2 for $5 at a TRU store and yet wanted to charge me around $20 for one?
Obviously he got them with the intention of making some profit and for someone to get multiple copies of different games he is out for the same thing not out for helping other CAG or else he would of made it known in his initial post along with the games he got.
 
What it comes down to is if you want to hoard go right ahead you have the right. However, though the community is slowly straying away from helping one another you should keep your hoarding stories to yourself. This alone is why I don't feel bad for hiding games. Sure the main reason is to get them cheaper, but it is also to get them period.

I've had this happen as well. Another big mark-up IMHO is the CAG's who sell their $.01 guides for $5. Have these members ever heard of Media Mail?
 
My point is you have no idea what his intentions are. Maybe he hooks his friends up or does his business via PM, you never know. All too often I see people in these threads pounce on someone for buying more than one copy of a game as an ebayer or flipper. Heck, sometimes i see those very same people that do the pouncing say they are going to find games TO FLIP when ebgames does the trade-in bonus deals. If i see multiple copies of a good game for cheap, i'll buy several copies and try to hook anyone up that needs one locally, other people I know, and yeah the leftovers ill keep them around for trade-in fodder. So what? Why do people get so bent out of shape over this.

Funny thing is most of the time I get rid of penny guides I will ship media mail and just charge people the shipping and they still complain im trying to make a profit... lol a dollar something is not profit anyway you look at it.

People can hoard if they want to but in a way there should be a thread made so these people can post away about finding 15 copies of X game and rolling naked on them. If anything keep it in the Blockbuster/Gamerush thread seeing that is hoarder/flipper heaven.
 
The games are on clearance for a reason. They don't sell well at the full price, let alone at the higher clearance prices in most cases. You can make a few bucks here or there (less on Ebay because of increasing fees), but it's not worth the effort unless you are going to do it in bulk. Then there's the risk of being banned from stores for trading in multiples, or being scorned by the gaming community.

If someone wants to make a career out of flipping videogames, more power to them. I'll keep my day job, thanks. This is a hobby, and I'd like to keep it that way.

There are so many logical flaws in this argument. What it all boils down to is that CAG is the embodiment of pure capitalism. You hiding games circumvents the established system for the purpose of obtaining goods at a lower cost outside of their normal demand (i.e. if you left them on the shelf they would have sold for a higher cost).

A "hoarder/flipper/reseller" circumvents the system (though not in the same way you do) by taking advatange of decreased demand (and therefore lower cost) in one market and shifting those goods to a market with increased demand (...higher cost).

As a "community", CAG has always embraced these approaches, as well as many others. Getting something as cheap as possible is not an effort of good will; it is an application of sly economics. Because this occassionally equates to greed (which carries negative connotations), individuals like you speak out angrily against those who are intelligently using the information they've been given to their advantage.

Another approach is to "share the wealth", and while this creates warm fuzzy feelings and a strong sense of community, the fact is that it is ridiculous to have something like CAG and expect the entire userbase to conform to your ideals.
