(Part I) The Target clearance thread

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

I went to a new Target for me to go get the Club and Viking both for the 360 and I did, I got them both.

But they also had Lost Odyssey there and I couldn't resist because it was clearanced to only $15!

They also had 50+ Scene Its for 15 and DBZ BL for only $30.

I may go back and at least pick up Scene It but $30 is still a bit too steep for DBZ.
 
Ugh all of the copies of Frontlines and LO were gone! I also scanned COD4 on the PC and got the OOS message. Brought it up front and got denied for any sort of discounted price. I will try another Target tonight.

Probably YMMV on the price drop? It seems like myself and other CAGs got denied. I'm going to try another Target later today also.

I had a similar thing happen at the Target closest to me. I gave up on looking for FFCC: RoF after all the copies disappeared when it went on clearance, but happened to find a lone copy on a closeout endcap I know I've checked plenty of times before. I'm sure there are plenty of explanations for it, but I'm just happy I happened to find it :D. Congrats on your good find!
 
Off topic but I noticed a bunch of different brands of wine put on clearance...might make some clearance games worth playing if you slam the wine first.
 
Went to two stores looking for COD4...

At the first I found a clearance tag and an empty shelf where I remember seeing them. Nothing in the clearance section.

The second place had a bunch on the shelves. A rep scanned one and it came up as not in the system. She called a manager who said that meant they had to be sent back. When I asked about a possible clearance deal she said they weren't allowed to sell them and went off to pull all the copies.

Alright, maybe this has been said or people are trying and not mentioning it but you should get someone with a hand held scanner to get the last known price. I haven't seen it mentioned but if someone has tried that, what was the last known price? It worked with a OOS Deal or No Deal for the DS.

I know that $49.99 may show up as the last known price but it is worth a shot.
 
I can also confirm that Lost Odyssey and Scene It for the :360: are now $14.98. Skate was also found at $14.98.

One little bit of information I got today was one of the sales associates told me that they do markdowns every two weeks. So therefore, if people can hold out, most of these games will drop again.

Singstar Amped dropped to $24.98 (bundle). Picked it up for some songs not on RB2 or GHWT. My first singstar. How does it do on a PS3?

I'm also happy to hear Lost Odyssey dropped to 14.98. The one store I went to for Kingdom Under Fire was still 41.98. I'd love to hunt around for Lost Odyssey, but that's like finding a needle in the haystack-- I'm figuring most of them are still 29.98. I'll just check for it at the store where I'm picking Viking up for 9.98 later tonight and cross my fingers. (This is at the Gilbert and Southern store in Mesa, AZ)

For those who bought the GTA IV Special Edition for Xbox360, is the copy of the game inside a SEALED regular copy? I already have the game, but am thinking of picking up the SE for the extras and just returning the game to Walmart for store credit.
 
^^I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming if there is a regular edition inside the SE, it probably has a not for resale warning on it.

this would be a no fly zone. fraud returns = bad idea.

also, according to the three wal-marts around here {northern IN} you cannot return ANY software purchase unless it is completely sealed AND YOU MUST HAVE THE RECEIPT dated within the last 90 days. without a receipt you simply cannot return anything relating to video game or computer software, even for store credit. i'm assuming they're cracking down on this nationwide to combat the hordes who buy online for twenty dollars and would return to wally world for fifty or sixty.

so unless you have the original receipt, dated in the last 90 days, there's no way you'll get away with return fraud {which you shouldn't do anyway, it's not kosher}.
 
Saw GTA4 SE for 44.98. Scene it for 29.98. Lost Odyssey for 29.98 (damnit). Left Brain Right Brain for 8.98. Bourne for 29.98. Front Lines x360 for 39.98. Brothers in Arms x360 for 19.98. Ballers x360 for 9.98. Nitro Bike Wii for 14.98. Couple of new drops. Lost Odyssey dropped today for me, but only 3 copies... so I doubt I'll get it for 14.98 :( No FFCC DS or Ninja Gaiden DS either.
 
Picked up Kane and Lynch and KUF:COD for $9.98 each on 360.

Went in to the Merrillville, IN location once more to see what they had in. The clearance section finally returns!

Both going right to Goozex. I already got Grid earlier and I'm rather shocked that the game went so fast to 75% off. It's a GREAT racing game.

I'm very tempted to go back tomorrow just to snag Scene It. Can anyone give a good word about it? Is it single-player playable? Let me know if you snagged it already. And if Frontlines were a bit cheaper, I would've bit.

Gonna check the Valparaiso location tomorrow and, if I feel ambitious, run to the Highland location just to scope it out.

Ah, lots of great price drops. I hope my credit card payment finally clears (Its been a week, I have no ballence and $2 of credit), or else I will have to pull my savings out.
 
I saw the DBZ Burst Limit (X360) game for 30 something today, but I couldn't pull the trigger. I'm sure it'll be gone by the next drop.
 
One target had Lost Odyseey for $41.98, another for $39.98. GTA Collectors edition for 360 was $44.98 and I saw Eye of Judgment for $17.48, fun game and if not for the game just to get the Playstation Eye. Grid was still $41.98 at both locations. Spiderwick Chronicles for 360 was $12.48, but I am looking for the latest ATV vs. MX game for 360, my son playes the demo on the PS3 so I figured I could use him as a sweatshop to farm me some achievements for the 360, but it has disappeared from my local Target shelves.
 
Damn, my Target seems pretty slow with these price drops and doesn't have a lot of copies of that games that do go on clearance. I finally saw Viking and Condemned 2 today for 9.98 and picked up Viking. I might go back and get Condemned. It looked like GRID, Scene it, Lost Odyssey, and Frontlines were all still 41.98. I'd love Scene it but they only have one copy and it's been there for a while so I don't know how long it'll last if it even makes it to 29.98 or more importantly 14.98. I noticed a lot of people's Targets have dropped Scene it to 14.98. I'll probably drive out and check some other Targets to see if they have it for that low.

If I can't find it I'd be willing to buy it off someone if they could snag me a copy at their Target. I'd cover the extra costs.
 
I'm tempted to drive back out to Target to see if drop on Lost Odyssey will happen. The closer Target is pretty good about getting drops done Monday morning. The other one might be a little slower.

Saw it for $14.98 today (PS3), so it's coming... Also saw Beijing (PS3) for $12.48.
 
My interest was piqued when I saw the Warhawk bundle in the same section as the budget games, right next to all the PS3 Greatest Hits. Unfortunately, it was still ringing up $50. Oh well...

the DCPI is not listed on Amazon.com but the ASIN is. You can find them both on Target.com . Amazon is an alternative place to look if Target.com no longer has the product info available online.


I picked up GTA IV SE for $44.98 this evening :lol:. I asked about price matching if it drops further and I was told they honor them if it drops within 40 days.

Picked up another copy of Viking 360 for $9.98 to replace the copy that is in the process of being traded. Saw MX vs ATV: Untamed 360 for $12.48. All the 20gb HDs were gone. I really don't need another one but I might have been tempted if I had seen one.

Bourne Conspiracy, Scene It, Lost Odyssey and Grid are all either $29.98 or $41.98 (LO & Grid). No drops on GTA4:SE 360. :whistle2:|

In my area, none of the reported good DS games have been clearanced (FFT:A2, NG, FFCC:RoF, etc...). The only DS that are on clearance are some Tamagotchi game, Left Brain/ Right Brain ($13.98) and New Int Track & Field ($20.98).
