This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
My targets are still on last drop:
Dead Space = $14.98
Socom bundle = $29.98

I really want a copy of Dead space for my PS3 for $7.98 so i hid a copy somewhere xD. If Socom bundle still around when it hit $14.98 I'll pick one up as well.
Dead Space was one of the very best games of last year... jump on that for $14.98!

Considering picking up RB: Classic Rock Track Pack :360: for $20.xx. Anyone seen it lower than this? Don't know if I should hold off. . .

Hm, then it isn't too bad of a deal. Cheaper then retail, but I wonder if you could find it cheaper from say eBay.

Thought: If you buy it at Target, you can PM it at Best Buy and get 10% off the $20.xx price. You will need proof though (your receipt). Could come out to be what, $16 or so after PM.
All of you folks begging for something delivered for cost + shipping need to be more realistic than $14.

$10 (game)
$.70 (tax estimate)
$.80 (delivery confirmation - never pass on this, no matter what feedback they have)
$.50 (bubble mailer, could be as much as $1)
$3-$4 (shipping USPS 1st class)

If you guys want someone to take their time and effort to ship something to you, at least offer them enough to cover their costs.
This. People get offended or like I'm trying to rip them off for a billion dollars if I offer to send a $15 for $20. I get taxed like 10% here in California ($15->$16.50). $2.50 for shipping AND delivery confirmation via PayPal (CHEAPEST shipping in the world) ($19). $1 for a bubble mailer and tape ($20). Jesus christ. I'm not even charging you the extra buck or two for my time spent packaging, printing out labels, DRIVING to the post office. I know this is CAG and all, but don't try to gouge the guy doing YOU a favor.

Nonetheless.. hitting up the local Targets later in the evening (just woke up, and I'm late for class). If anyone can give me an update on the Targets in Irvine/Tustin before 5pm.. I'd really appreciate it. :D

Target in Pasadena TX of Beltway 8 & Fairmont Parkway, no clearance games to be found for the 3rd week in a row. None in the glass, no game clearance section in the back of electronics, no games in the clearance section down the isle between cards and clothes, and nothing by the dvds.

Very unusual.

Target in Pearland TX off Hwy 288 & FM 518, 5 $43 copies of Wrestlemania which hasn't changed in price for a month. Nothing else for 360. Also some PS3 & PSP games, but I was in a rush and only looked at the green cased games.

Picked up PGR4 for 9.98. Still wanting dead space but it is staying at 29.99 i guess. Also I saw Fallout 3 Expansion, the first one, for 12.98. Also the Harry Potter game was 24.98.

I found what seemed to be the last bundle of GH:WT(1 guitar+game) hidden in the keyboards section. At first I didn't care, because the sticker said ~$60. But I scanned it just for the hell of it and it said it was $22.xx, so I bit. Haven't played a GH(or Rockband for that matter) since the original, so hopefully it'll be worth the cost.

Also saw Terminator: Rise of the Machines for the 360. Going for $41.xx IIRC.

BTW, you can use the guitar on future GH and RB games right? I'm thinking of picking up RB:Beatles.

Just saw Wolverine and FEAR 2 for PC for $27.xx each. All the other stickers stayed the same, the scanners were not working in the whole store, so I could not check if the prices dropped and they did not update the stickers.

Picked up Patapon 2 (PSP) for 4.98 at Columbia Pike/Franklin, TN Target - they also started clearance on Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires (360) now for 27.98, saw Wanted (PS3) and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (PS3) for 14.98 but didn't bite. Madworld (Wii) 2 copies left at 14.98.
BTW, you can use the guitar on future GH and RB games right? I'm thinking of picking up RB:Beatles.
Yes. Pretty sure that guitar works with all the old games as well (except maybe RB1).
Patapon 2 for $4.98 today.

Madworld holding at freakin $14.98...is it just me or does it seem like Wii games take the longest to drop?
Wow, I'd love to get Patapon for $5. I played the demo of the first one when I first got my PSP and thought it was fun, but didn't really want to pay full price. My store still has it at $13.98, so I'm waiting on a drop. They just dropped prices on everything, but left this at $14, so maybe it will drop this week. I may just grab a copy and hope it drops. I bought Henry Hatsworth at $14 because I wanted it anyway and it was gone when I went back, so I'm glad I got it.

I've noticed it takes forever for Wii games to drop as well, even the shovelware. My Target never drops prices on Wii games below the $9.98 point and they seem to just leave them there until they are gone. It seems like getting them down to that $9.98 price takes forever though.
Just saw Wolverine and FEAR 2 for PC for $27.xx each. All the other stickers stayed the same, the scanners were not working in the whole store, so I could not check if the prices dropped and they did not update the stickers.
My store has been having a lot of problems recently as well. Three out of four scanners I go to are "Temporarily Down" and some I've been seeing where they need a password. Nothing like going through the whole store with a stack of games to check and not being able to find one that is working. The one outside of electronics was actually working the other day, so I took several games that had dropped a while ago thinking they may have finally updated them. The guy that was working electronics was standing a by the cameras and I was across the electronics closer to the toys and he looked at me like I was crazy for scanning them all. Several of their games are tagged wrong and they are so far behind on updating prices, you would think they would understand why people would check prices (I can't even count how many times I've checked prices on groceries and stuff that they have marked on sale and then scan at full price) On the plus side, when I went back Saturday night (I scanned them all on Thursday) they had lowered prices on almost everything :bouncy: maybe he realized he was behind because I was scanning everything

On a side note. I've read some people that have Target's where they guarantee the price for 14 days, so if they lower it in store they will lower the price you paid. I'm not sure if my store does this or not (not even sure if it is a nationwide policy) but I was just curious, if I buy a game because there are only a few in stock and they are all sold out, will they lower the price on the game even if there are no more copies in the store? Or, at that point would they remove them out of the system? There have been a few games that I wanted to get, but they only had one or two copies, so I figure if I buy it and they are all gone, that they then would leave the price where it is, or remove it from the system.

Not sure if that makes sense, but I've always wondered.

Uh, no. Best Buy typically doesn't price match clearance games that aren't advertised and to make this work, you would need to buy at Best Buy, go back and somehow prove to them that Target has the game cheaper. Then, they would refund the difference, plus 10% of the difference. That means in this particular case, you would net 90 cents for all the hassle and grief involved. Not a good use of your time.

I went to the new Target in San Marcos CA yesterday. They had Patapon 2 for just under $5 if anyone is interested. I saw 3 copies. They also had Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce for just under $10.

Saw FEAR 2 and Wolverine, both for the PC, both for $27 or 28.

edit: Also saw 1TB Western Digital My Book HDD for 99 and 500GB for 50

My target here in pensacola fl is full of fail. Games still all holding on to that magic 20.00.

Deadspace
Resistance
50cent
Rainbosix vegas 2
GRAW2

All 20.00. Everything else is higher...FAIL.

Stopped at 4 Targets today in CT. At 2 I found nothing worth while. At 1 I got Xbox360 Battlestations Pacific, Ps3 warhawk and Ps3 Call of duty 3 all for $14.98. At another one I got Ps3 Saints Row 2 $9.98. Xbox 360 rechargable black battery/no cable $5.98 and Ps3 Smackdown vs raw 2008 $7.48. Did realize til I got home that I had smackdown for 360 from back when Blockbuster had their clearance sale. Gonna return it later this week.

Picked up Battlestations Paccific at the magic 85% mark at 5pm in the Milltown, NJ target offof Ryders Ln. There was still one left if interested. The Game is 7.54 and located in the movie section with some clearence games.

Target on 57th ave by Carol City has Riddick (PS3) for $9. Target on Miramar and Dykes has several Dead Space (forgot the price) with two Socom holding steady @ 29.98. The boxes are all beat up though.

wow, i may need to pick up one of these..very good deal. Thanks darthballz (nice name btw)

wait quick question, is their generally other areas where they keep games at the target stores? i know there is a section in the back of electronics area at the stores i've gone to, but i see people post about other areas of the store. or are those just YMMV depending on the store?

I think I got duped. I scanned a copy of Ridick, and it said not in the system on the scanner. Had a price of like 23.98 on it. So I brought it to a cashier, who "scanned" it, but nothing came up on the customer display where you see the prices. And he said it was 23.98. Bet he was lying.

Typical of most Targets in CT.
Anybody know any good deals on games on my wishlist?
lol

Target in Diamond Bar, CA has very little left at the moment. They are well stocked on Axe Body wash + scrubber for $4.24 though.

Oh, the PS3 display had bionic commando for 30 and Riddick for... i don't remember. I thought it was 15 but I could be mistaken.

Well, its out of system, and it probably showed up as such on the screen of the employee's register. If you want the last updated price, you need to find an employee who has a hand scanner to look it up, otherwise, they'll just sell it to you at whatever the marked price was.

Ok,
1: i was being generous on the tax estimate and giving roughly 10%
2: If im the one buying and don't want DC, then don;t waste a dollar on DC
3: where the hell are you getting you 1st Class estimate? It costs me roughly $1.90 to send 360 games through 1st class. $4?! you're getting fuckin ripped

I bought Wanted from a guy on here who went to his Target to get it for me. the game alone was $12.48. all he asked for was $17 paypal

on another note, i went to the Mt. Zion Target in Morrow, GA to pick up a dual guitar GH:WT bundle for $23, but the two they had last time i checked (last week) were gone...highly unlikely they're gone. nobody ever buys clearance games here.

It doesn't matter If you don't want dc. I want to protect myself so I get dc.

As for 1.90 to ship a game are you sending it in tissue paper. A bubble mailer plus new 360 game is a minimum of 5 ounces.

The fact is that someone is doing you a favor. So it's uncouth to be super cheap about it.

Had anybody seen Dead Space(PS3) for under $15? Its stickered like $30 - Was holding out to see if it would hit like $9 or so in that case but i havent seen it happen yet.
Also saw 1TB Western Digital My Book HDD for 99 and 500GB for 50
I can also confirm this for the 1TB at my Target. I am waiting for it to drop lower though. Hopefully it will be there along to see the $75 or $50 mark.
As for 1.90 to ship a game are you sending it in tissue paper. A bubble mailer plus new 360 game is a minimum of 5 ounces.
You can ship 1 pound across the country using media mail and it'll cost you $2.38. Go order a bunch of media mail dvd sized boxes for FREE from USPS.com and now you have cheap shipping.

Edit: I take that back about the free boxes. Apparently they are Priority Mail boxes and can only be used as such. In any case, any box will do for shipping via media mail and it's freaking cheap too so even a shoebox stuffed with popcorn peanuts will probably go for under 2 bucks.

Strongly agree with everything here. I'm frankly tired of people coming on here begging for someone to send them something at a loss, all the while never doing the same for a fellow CAG. It almost seems like we need some sort of karma points system to know who we should be doing nice things for on this board so we can weed out all the jerks who think Paypal doesn't charge fees, the post office can be persuaded to mail something for free, packing materials can be found in the streets and that you can just decline to pay tax on purchases as long as you explain that it's a favor for some CAG you don't even know. I have sent things I have found to CAGs on a very regular basis over the years and each time I have literally taken a loss either from miscalculating postage or forgetting about Paypal fees or because I miscalculated tax. Never once have I expected someone to compensate me for my mistake. The least people can do who are asking for a favor is to take the person doing the favor's word for what their actual cost is to get something to them.
I think Dead Space is at its lowest $14.xx.
Bah - My target is usually like 1-2 weeks behind alot of drops reported here and it hit $15 last week and dont see anyone else posting a lower price. Might go grab a copy tomorrow then in that case.

Since when did the post office start providing free media mail boxes? Please point me to the product link on their site. The only free supplies they offer are for Priority and Express Mail.

No it isn't, it's been marked down from $29.99, so $14.98 is only 50% off. It will hit $7.48.

Even if the boxes are free, that's not the point. Why should someone that is doing someone else a favor have to go out of their way to look for cheap/free packaging. It's not their duty to search for the cheapest option when they are already going out of their way send the game in the first place. There are way too many people here with a deluded sense of entitlement.
