This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Chantilly, VA didn't have much of markdowns yet for the 360. I did notice quite a few GH:WT and NCAA Football 09 at the $14.98 price point for the PS3.

I had a similar issue. Somebody in the thread pointed out the mobil version which works.

You will likely have to do a title search, then find at store.

I think the problem here is our proximity to UCI campus...they are a bit savvy to this sort of thing...lol i am a student there too. Also it doesn't help that we can hit up like 3 targets right next to one another and have 2 gamestops and a couple of bbvs near by too. For the record, i don't horde, but i can see the appeal. Its pretty slim pickings if you don't get there by monday.

Everything is pretty close together there, wouldn't be surprised if clearance pickings are "meh." Hell, when I went there, people would go apeshit if a woot-off happened during class or if a good deal on SD popped up.

Target noob over here, got a question:

Are these games normally behind the glass when they are on clearance, or in the designated clearance section at the end of the rows (out in the open). Thanks.
 
My target finally droped the price on GHWT for the ps3 to 14.98 so I picked up a copy. I also noticed Pokemon Sapphire [Game Boy Advance] was reduced to 17.98 and they had a bunch of them. The end war game for ps3 must have been reduced from the 44 price as well because about 10 of them disapeared. This was all at the fairfeild, nj store.

I have never seen them behind glass. They are normally on and end cap somewhere in the eletronic/game/movie/book section.

Depends on the Target, the game, and the price drop.

At a couple of our Target's sometimes they spend the first drop in the case. Sometimes they come out immediately and go straight to the end cap. At another, I never see a clearance game remain in the glass case.
 
Hi from the Berks County PA area! It feels like forever for the End War bundles to drop at my targets. They have been $45 forever!! Hopefully next week! Also waiting for Fear 2 to drop to $12.

It depends some are in the glass others are at the end case by the tv, dvd, videogames. look at the shelves around that department basically
 
Last week I spotted three copies of the regular version of Left 4 Dead behind two copies of the GOTY version. I asked the troll guarding the case if he could tell me the price of the regular version. He told me it was the same as the GOTY version and wouldn't scan it. I didn't want to push it in case it wasn't clearanced so I walked out empty handed.

Today I went in with my bar code print out and it was $12.48. And the same troll was there. Had him get it out of the case and he gave me the "I'm sure it's the same price" line again. He shut up pretty quick once he rang it up. Hehe. I love CAG.

Yeah, if a game is on clearance in the lower price levels (9.xx, 12.xx, 14.xx) then it should almost certainly be on clearance everywhere, regardless of what it's tagged or what the employee says.

If it's a brand new clearance game, then I think it's possible that some stores don't mark it down right away. But overall I've found it to be very consistent: If it's clearanced at one, it's going to be eventually clearanced at all.

Therefore, demand the price check.

I lol'd at this story. Fortunately, my local target has this really nice lady. I'm gonna head there next week to see if I can get any deals.
 
I went to my local Target over on Pines. I finally found some PS3 games! None that interest me, though, but for those who've felt neglected:

- Tomb Raider Underworld(PS3) for $20.98.
- End War/Mic Combo(PS3) was $44.xx.
- Guitar Hero: WT(PS3) was $14.98(about 15 copies too)

There was a baseball game, but I forgot the name. 360 had Fear 2 for $25.xx and a few other games. Wii had titles like Wall-E and Tiger Woods '08 for around $20. I also saw Chop Til You Drop for about $29.xx, and House of the Dead: Overkill was in the high 30's.

Were there any copies left? Because I'm sure case-guarding troll bought the rest of them up to put on eBay.

Lol, my brother bought 6 copies at one store and the 4 employees + the clerk were completely dumbfounded at the price. One of them was like "But, I bought that game at full price!"

It was pretty funny..
 
Well my nearest Target is renovating the store and moving stuff around... and all of a sudden has a clearance rack of games. Unfortunately, it's just $40 Riddick and Battlestations and HAWX and so forth. They're also selling Ninja Blade for $28 which is weird since I picked it up for $20 at another Target.

I never get the good stuff you guys do.
 
Picked up today, among the Central Dallas targets:

No luck on a copy of L4D though, even checked behind GOTY copies :/
 
Looking for some advice. Wondering if anyone has used Targets return policy to match prices for items on clearance. Picked up Ninja Blade for 27, but now it's listed for 19. I'm reading online that the return policy is 90 days, so would it be a possibility that I can price match or return and rebuy the item when it drops? Also thinking of picking up FEAR 2 if this is a possibility since it's 25 dollar price is being stubborn.

I returned a copy of Lips that I bought at $24 because the wife and I hadn't even opened it up... When I went back the next day, it was on the clearance shelf. On a whim, I ran it against the price checker... At $12, I couldn't pass it up :) They will probably let you rebuy.

Getting them to do a return/rebuy is YMMV. It really depends on the person in customer service. If you're able to get them to do it, consider yourself lucky. It doesn't hurt to give it a try, though.

If you have the time and have a Target nearby, you can do what crazedracerguy did. First make sure that the Target has the price you want. Then return the game before closing and pick it up as soon as they open. Of course, you do risk the chance that they take their time putting it back or someone else buys it but those are your only options. Good luck.

I did this with Dead rising for WII, bought it at 27.xx and it went down to 19.xx. Lucky for me I had not opened the copy yet, this may be a factor I don't know. I told the cashier that I bought this game and now its on sale. She then told me that she would have to return it and then I'd just rebuy it from her. So it can be done but it is very YMMV since I've heard some wont.
 
So I take it no new drops this week? In CT I didn't find anymore left 4 deads once it dropped to 35. I ended up just getting the GOTY edition for the wife for co-op. Not sure if we'll dump 120 on left 4 dead 2 tho.
 
Target on Center St in Omaha - don't bother unless you need GHWT for the PS3. $14.98. Very little selection and no end cap - everything was either on the shelf in the gaming section or locked up behind the glass.

I didn't see anything this week. Based on your location I assume you go to one of the same Targets as I do. The NB location never has anything...
 
Picked up Tom Clancy's Endwar Bundle for 44.98 as reported. Probably about eight left after I bought one. Needed a new bluetooth headset anyways...so I figured I might as well get the game as an added bonus : ). Still a few GHWT for PS3, Legends of Rock for 360, nothing too stellar to report in upstate NY.

How much is the headset worth? I know Endwar is selling at Gamestop this week new for $19.99. I don't think that includes the headset though--I don't know. I was looking at the 360 version but I think the PS3 was the same price.
 
Heya all, picked up FEAR 2 at $12 (Finally!) and a couple copies of 50 Cent : BOTS at $15. Looking to trade at least 50 Cent, see my list if interested. ;)
 
Seems that the Plymouth Meeting, Pa. Target rarely has anything on clearance. Months ago, I could find every title on clearance. Any chance they stop clearing out their old games?
 
All Targets in my area finally dropped the price for FEAR 2 to 12.48. Unfortunately all the Targets in my area are Sold Out. Sucks!!!!!!!!!
 
Just came back from the Targets in Watchung and Union. Watchung didn't have anything worthwhile. Union had a few things. Fear 2 for Xbox360 was $15, Wall-E for Wii was $7.50, 50 Cent is $30. Didn't see any End War bundles at Union (though they are $44 at Watchung).

Did manage to pick up "As-Is" copies of GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas for PS2 for $5 a piece as well as Jurassic Park DVD set (#1-3) $5, all look to be fine (still in normal shrink wrap and stuff). They still had 24 season 1 for $11.xx if anyone is interested as I already had it (at Union).

I hit up the Meriden and Newington one. Never go to the NB one usually as their clearance has always sucked from my experience. But if I get desperate I'll go there. Only title I was interested in was Riddick. Ninja Blade seemed destined to hit $10 anyways.
 
Hit my 3 local targets here in east TN ....... nothing found to really report other than I got myself a Cobra Commander Mighty Mugg for only $2.74

i just picked one up today at the paper mill rd target. i thought about waiting til next week for it to drop again, but i didn't want to end up missing it. $45 for the headset plus endwar is a pretty damn good deal anyway i think, considering the headset is $50 by itself.

maybe i'll try a return/rebuy if it drops under $30, but even if i can't make that happen (like i said) $45 is still a good deal...
 
No game changes for me today but a heads up for all the dads out there , Thomas the train toys are on clearance . The selection was pretty big at my Target .
