This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I'm pretty sure it was only the 360 version on clearance.
 
Saw 2 unmarked copies of :360: X-Blades behind the glass at a store I bought the last copy at 2 weeks ago. They rang up out of system, so the guy on duty checked the last price ($14.XX) but had to get manager approval to sell. I asked if there was any discount since they dropped, but the manager said, "Technically, we shouldn't be selling these to you, but I'll give you 10% off the last price. Otherwise they'll be pulled."

Eh- they flipped for more, so I bought them.
 
The Afro Samurais at the two local Targets I checked were still $30. I'd like a copy but not for that price, hoping I'm able to snag one at the next drop but I highly doubt it.

Actually, every time a multi platform title gets clearanced, it seems like the PS3 version clearances out last, but it does seem to disappear from the local stores.

Right now, POP for 360 is clearanced, while POP for PS3 is listed as $29.99 in the circular this week.

I don't know. I swear I read in this thread that people were getting PS3 copies of XBlades for $14.98.
 
Argh, PoP was still $29 and Saints Row 2 was still $35 at my locals. And all the Lost and Damned cards are gone. But hey, there's a ton of GHIII that no one seems to care about.

Well, for starters, you're ruining the chance for a store to make more money on the game just because you're selfish. It contributes to the store's losses for the financial period. Not only that, but you're making it for a pain in the ass for the team of people that have to do inventory on items... most retail stores do inventory on every department a couple times a month and when things go missing then the employees get in trouble.


Getting cheap games is fine, but doing it at the expense of making a store hate deal seekers is not.


Furthermore, if you can't afford it now it doesn't mean someone else shouldn't have the right to buy it at that price. The store is not your personal shopping grounds to determine when people can buy things.


It's wrong because it's selfish, greedy, and ruins the credibility of our community, plain and simple.
 
Any Midwestern/Eastern CAG's wanna pick up Fifa 09 (x360) @ $15 for me? All the Fifa 09's in L.A Target's are still marked at $60/45

Those are some excellent points that you've brought up. It's sad that people tend to only think about themselves rather than think about the big picture. Sure, by hiding games you'll be paying less money for your games, but you'll be screwing over the store and the employees in the process.

Ummm...I don't think the ethnic composition of an area determines what gets discounted. And I also doubt that more than 50% of the people in LA are hispanic, which is what would make them a majority.

Believe me, I understand the moral grounds for NOT hiding games, I truly do. I know it's not right, but I truly go under the impression in my area that if I don't hide them, somebody else will, and the store would then still be making the same amount of money.

Maybe instead of locking the games in a cabinet, they should lock the gamers in cuffs when entering the electronics dept. Lol, jk. Had a few doublebocks this evening. My target blows. The clearances aren't ever that low.

Picked up the last Midway Arcade Treasures #3 for $3.78 at the Target near O'Hare in the Chicago area. Now I have 1, 2, & 3.
 
Picked up Mario Strikers Charged for $12.98 today (last one) at the Huchinson, MN location.
They also had a ton of MK vs. DC for $24.98 (360)

In case people missed the Endwar bundle (PS3) at newegg for 39.99, today i saw at my target LI NY (Broadway Mall) for 49.99 (down from 89.99). Not bad if your in need for a PS3 mic. I grabbed the Newegg deal so i am good.

on a side note, does anyone know if these plates will be going on clearance? They're plastic Alice in wonderland designed type.....? they're currently $3.99 a piece, the lady wants them but doesn't want to pay that much per plate.

Two weeks ago I literally saw 25 copies of it marked at $12.48 at an endcap. When I left they had 24 copies left.

Does anyone know if the actual price drops are done automatically from corporate (or from local management), or do the drops not occur until the employees go around scanning an item barcode to update the database?.

Every morning I see an army of employees scanning inventory.
 
no dice at my Target but I might have went too early. Banjo was still 19.98 I saw Fear 2 for 34.98 (207-22-3030) I think. Afro for 360 was still 29.98 too. NBA live 09 was 19.98
 
Fear 2? Gonna keep an eye out for PS3 version whenever it drops as well.

Hopefully the Mad World/House of the Dead: Overkill games start their cycle today too.

The PS3 version might have started to drop too I'm not sure. The Fear 2 was in the case and since I only own a 360 that's all I look at whenever I go.
