This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I stopped by yesterday but didn't have my list with me. Here's what I saw and scanned. All items are :360: Xbox 360 titles unless otherwise noted.

In the glass case:
$19.98 - Scene It: BOS - 1 in case, 2 on clearance shelf
$19.98 - HSM3 Dance Mats - 3 on main shelf
$24.98 - NFS: Underground - 4 copies (was $34 last week)
$24.98 - Monsters vs Aliens - 2 copies (was $34 last week)
$29.98 - Afro Samurai - 3 copies
$29.98 - Prince of Persia - 2 copies

The 3 copies of NBA Live 09 they had the previous week in the glass case were gone. It scanned at $19.98 so no surprise there. They didn't even have a slot for it anymore.

As I posted previously, I was very surprised to see a copy of GTA IV L&D just sitting there on the clearence endcap. I know I have scoured this store at least 3 times and never saw it. Quickly scanned and bough it for $9.98. The clearance shelf also had the usual GH3:Legends and Smackdown vs Raw 2009 ($24.98).

I did see a single :ps3: Wheelman but forgot to scan the price. Sorry
So I wandered by my local Target Seattle, Northgate. Off in the computer section on an endcap facing away from the front of the store, hidden away was a small clearance section.

In this section they had various video games. Mostly PS2 and DS games. They had a few PSP games. What I ended up walking out with was Xbox 360 games.

Specificly;

- Farcry 2 - 27.98
- The Incredible Hulk - 14.98
-X-Blades - 29.98

They also Sonic Unleashed, MLB Head Office, and something else I cant remember.

Might be worth a trip to swing by your local Target, see if they have anything.
I don't know why, but the Northgate store always seems to be slow on clearance prices. If you can, try the Alderwood/Lynnwood or Everett stores. They're much more efficient.

Also, if you're in the Issaquah area, the Target there had
iconxbox360.gif
Smackdown vs RAW 2009 for only $12.49. There were at least 15 copies.
Red sticker means clearence, it should be correct, unless its another type of red sticker...
I know that but I found it funny that at that price its considered a clearance item.

I was there Tuesday night, and I didn't see the Lost & the Damned. Lucky you. Also, none of the PS3 Singstar or Buzz bundles at that TRU (although I didn't expect them to be there on Tuesday, since the drop was Monday).

Stopped by the Target near my office after work yesterday, and the lone copy of Afro Samurai they had left had turned into a lone cardboard slipcase with no game in it. Either someone stole it, or (my guess) some fucking hoarder thought he'd get away with it easier if the slipcase were still sitting on the shelf making it look at a quick glance like the game was still there.

*sigh* I'm more or less giving up on any chance of getting Afro Samurai by the time it hits $14.98 at this point.

On the plus side, they still have a number of copies of Prince of Persia (still at $29.98, though) -- the difference being that it's still in the glass case. At first I didn't like the idea of them keeping the clearance games in the case, since it makes it impossible to scan them without having a UPC printout, but the more I think about it, the more I'm all for it, because it stops the hoarders dead in their tracks.

I'm curious, though -- anyone know why they're keeping this one game in the case, but not others? They've added several other games, some at higher prices, to the clearance end cap since then, but it's still in there. I've seen this at several stores now. Wondering what the difference is . . .

I've read this 10 times, and it still makes no sense to me. I realize the third rule of CAG is that if you can't find a deal, it's obviously because of fucking hoarders, but the paranoia here is getting unreal.

Well, there's a cardboard slipcase on the shelf, and no game in it (or anywhere in the area). The game was in it the other day, and those slipcases are generally tight enough that games don't just fall out of them (especially when they're just sitting on a shelf). So unless the game spontaneously combusted or developed the ability to walk on its own, something sure as hell happened to it. If someone was just stealing the game altogether (or buying it, for that matter), I don't know why they'd bother to leave the slipcase behind, so you do the math.
I was there Tuesday night, and I didn't see the Lost & the Damned. Lucky you. Also, none of the PS3 Singstar or Buzz bundles at that TRU (although I didn't expect them to be there on Tuesday, since the drop was Monday).
Yeah, it was just sitting on top of the stack of clearance games. I couldn't believe it. Maybe someone returned it b/c it didn't have a red sticker on it. Or maybe they were blided by the 10+9 copies of Guitar Hero III. :)

I asked once and they said it just depended on how much room they have in the glass case and what new titles are expected the next week. I agree, there are some that sit in the glass case forever while others move out and are gone at the higher prices.

At a few stores, I see they will actually add an empty slot and add the self tag for the game even though it isn't released. At least it shows what is about to hit the store.

Of course, if they would take 1/3 of the damn DS :ds: case and give the :360: some love then they would all be in the case. I still don't understand why :ds: gets 3x the room, :ps2: gets 2x the room, and :ps3: gets 2x the room of what the :360: gets. I guess they just want to rotate their inventory faster to reduce costs.

Arcane ; considering your location is VA, and I saw this exact thing (the empty AS sleeve on the shelf and the PoP behind the glass) at my local yesterday...I am guessing you are talking about the Chantilly Target. And for Salty, at THIS particular Target, there is a stasher. I've seen him doing it, pointed him out to the LP, etc. His stashes get found and pop up on the clearance shelf scanning out of system with great regularity.

Yup, Chantilly. And yeah, I've seen your reports of the hoarder there before, and I've bought a few things that I'm pretty sure were from his found stashes (as they were items that had previously disappeared off the shelf ages ago). There's reason to be paranoid in this store! ;) I figure that he probably left the slipcase behind hoping that if they saw it sitting on the shelf, they might not notice that the game wasn't in it and wouldn't go looking for his stash.

Hmm, I hit that location occasionally myself. I'll have to start looking for some stashes. :)

Ahahaha, it's been tempting to search, but I'm afraid that if they see me going through all of the drawers in the furniture section, digging back behind the frozen dinners in the freezer section, and going through the women's underwear (apparently that's a popular stashing location?!?) they'll think that I'm the one who's up to something.

checked out target on monday, at least 5 copies of both Prince of Persia and Afro Samurai, as well as Need for Speed Undercover (3-4 copies) all for $29.98 still. Had them look up "Lost & Damned" and there's no copy left in my area, although it did ring up as $9.98... boo :(

Target in Socal- Alhambra, CA

Damnit, I swear it feels like SoCal is always the slowest to get clearance price drops. The only 360 game that I've seen recently fall to below $20 was Guitar Hero III.

Thanks for the updates everyone. I was mad that I didn't update the thread for ten pages until I noticed the last four pages were mostly people commenting that Prince of Persia and Afro Samurai was still 29.98 at their store.

Also, I haven't been to Target much, but I have one update that I put in the list no one mentioned: :ps2: Lego Indiana Jones for 13.98. I noticed this last week.
So it might have been answered earlier, but I might have overlooked it. Does the B2G1 next week include clearance games?
The last time they did a B2G1 (Wii games, I believe) it did not include clearance games, so probably not.
Picked up PofP 360 in Cape Coral, Fl for 14.98. The odd thing was they had MK vs DC 360 marked down from 59.99 to .... 59.99!? They were stickered and on the clearance end cap and all.

Hmm...
So your the other CAGer hounding my target eh? :p

Gimme my copy of Endless Ocean!!

I keed, I keed..(kind of). We should work out some easy trades sometime, if your that close.

I just saw these items on the clearance racks:

Tiger Woods 09 All Play (Wii) 34.98
Saints Row 2 (Xbox 360) $24.98

Didn't see any other drops othere than Banjo at $9.98

Weird. I checked Target.com for the DPCI for Tiger Woods 09 All Play and it shows as being on sale for 29.99, five dollars less than the intial clearance price.

I didn't scan it today. Was in a rush and just got the info off the sticker. Will try and get more info from this location after my vacation.

Saints Row 2 - $25
Fear 2(360) - $25
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts - $20
Scene it!: Box Office Smash w/ 4 remotes - $20
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe - $30

----

I picked up the scene it bundle at the Peoria, Illinois Target. It was a steal! I'm considering getting Banjo as well. The Peoria store has plenty of copies left for everything.

Picked up 360 FEAR 2 $34.98 and 360 POP for $24.98. That is the lowest Ive seen PoP as the TARGET by my house still has it for $41.98 and since there were 2 I grabbed it.

Edit:

Man I wish Id see Saints row 2 for $25

Checked my store today (Bemidji, MN)

High School Musical 3 bundle - $19.98
Lips - $34.98
PoP - 29.98
Afro Samurai - $34.98

Pretty lame if you ask me...

I tried a search but came back empty, has there been any signs of COD: World at War hitting the clearance rack yet?

You are kidding right?

Nope, and don't hold your breath. It is $40 at Gamestop right now though.

I bought Lord of the Rings Conquest for $27 today. Is that game as bad as the reviews said it was? I haven't opened it yet and I'm considering returning it.

Have any of you CAG's played this game?
In the last couple of days they've put Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360) on the clearance rack here for $34.98.
Wow gotta keep my eye on it... Was this the GOTY edition or really old copies of the original?

How long is the game? Does anyone play it on Live anymore?

Thanks.

I believe they were the original release, though to be honest, I didn't look very closely other than the price. I've had the game for a while and it only caught my eye because I was going to tell a friend about it if it comes down in price.

Hmm probably around 10hrs or so single player average for both campaigns... As for the online a few people play but it didn't seem that fun to me... I guess it was kewl being your favorite LOTR character but it gets old fast...

Thanks man. 20 hrs isn't bad for a game. I still debating it.

Not sure if there's a GOTY edition yet, but it would be no different... the DLC is all free.

I've been hoping to get this game for ages now, just haven't found the right price. Hope to see it on clearance near me soon.
Mortal Kombat (360) clearance at $15 MN... but not PoP
