This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I went to Target in Pearland TX on 518@288 and scored a $15 copy of Afro Samurai which is all I wanted. They ditched the clearance section and started putting games back in the glass case again.

For 360 they had 1 copy of Afro Samurai left, 3 copies of Left 4 Dead at $35, & 5+ copies of Prince of Persia at $15. Not sure what they had for other systems.


Pasadena TX Target had 10+ copies of Prince of Persia for Xbox 360 at $15 yesterday on their clearance end cap w/ no other 360 titles present.

yeah I noticed when visiting there 2 weeks ago that the Albany area Target stores are pretty weak when it comes to clearance items.

Still waiting for MK vs. DC to drop below $20 .. sigh.

If you guys don't know, Ninja Blade is price dropped, not clearanced, to only $19.99 at TRU, so you can not only go to the store and get it, but you can order online.

Just a heads up for anyone waiting for this to drop further at Target.
 
Just got back from the Target on S. Main (Houston,TX) and picked up POP for ~$15.....still 5-6 available. Afterwards, I went to the Target at Meyerland to see what (if any) was on clearance.....nothing.....and POP was still ~$30.

I had a blast with Ninja Blade. Totally over-the-top and ridiculous, but a lot of fun to play. Similar to X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Damn, that's pretty much the exact opposite end of the beltway from me. Probably not worth the trip, even though the game is twice that over here and I haven't seen the keyboard anywhere.
 
Since BK: N&B is $10 at several targets when will my local Target (which is $20 right now) expect to drop the price? Next week?
 
haha, my evil plan of clearance manipulation worked out. I bought a clearance game from a store which had yet to drop the price to my sweet spot, took it too the store where my buy price was last spotted. Returned the item in the evening, and bought it the next day in the morning for the lower price. Not exactly rocket science, but a small victory never the less.

Please don't tell me that you're talking about the one in Beltway Plaza Mall? I'm from Maryland, but living in Mass. Took a trip down to Maryland a couple of weeks ago and checked out that Target and I found nothing. Was pretty bummed.
 
I saw the G11 keyboard here, for $20.xx. And I would have jumped on it, if it weren't for the fact that I bought a G11 about 3 weeks ago...:bomb:
 
Picked up Prince of Persia 360 for 14.98 along with star ocean second departure on psp for 19.99 at a target off 1604/bandera in san antonio, tx.....not bad...
 
Picked up far cry 2 at my local target for $10.

Not uncommon, but check this out. I was watching it on clearance at this target and three others, and all six of the copies that I was watching went at $20 before it could drop to $10. Thought I was out of luck as the stock was zeroed out. Strolling through my local target killing time today, and I found eight copies unstickered that had been placed in the bargain section with the platinum hits marked at 27 but ringing up at 10. Not only was it out of stock in the system a month ago (not to mention clearanced) but there was no far cry 2 sticker or spot in the bargain section previously. They ordered more stock of a game they clearanced out a month ago!

Not that I am complaining :).

There's a clearance section? I thought the endcaps were the clearance section. Where do they keep that?
 
Can anyone confirm that saints row 2 is really $12.xx? I saw it on the first page listed as such but I haven't seen anyone write anything about it in this fourm..Damn thing still hasn't droped in my area.

Based on my experience, some Targets put $20 and $30 "value" games on endcaps of the aisles for videogames while others dedicate an actual aisle for these value games. Usually if you just wander around the electronics department you will find their actual clearance rack on some obscure endcap.
 
Target in Rowlett, TX has like 5+ copies of PoP for $14.98, 2 copies of Banjoe for $19.98, Loco Roco 2 for 13.98, and the one copy of Star Ocean, the only game I want!!! Is still 27.98. Damn it.

Hopefully the Target I frequent that has 3 copies of PoP will still have it when they drop it to $14.98. They better drop that bitch on Monday...

It's still $24 over there, but all the targers over here are slow to drop the price. Saw Banjo $20, Pop $29, left 4 dead $34, Afro $29
 
Picked up 3 copies (One for me, one for my wife's 360 and one for my friend) at Newington, CT Target - Far Cry $9.98.

The signed said $27 and there was no clearance stickers but they rang up that price. There were still 3 left.
 
Picked up Far Cry 2 thanks for the head up to the person who initially posted it. Was in the section of the games under $20 unmarked. Also saw but passed on Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts $27.98, Prince of Persia $14.87, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe still $41.97 all at the endcap. Fear 2 for the 360 was on clearance and in the glass think the price was $34.97.
 
According to the cashier in the games section I talked to earlier while picking up FC2, they got in new stock earlier in the week but didn't bother stickering them. So it sounds like a lot of stores did.
 
Picked up Peggle Dual Shot for $13.48, I know it's retail is $20 now at many stores, but there were only two copies left and I figured they'd go fast at that price.
 
sorry but am new to this clearance. How does it work, like If I see a game here with a price that I like, and head to the store, do you have to tell the people there about the price, or will it automatically come up when they scan it when am about to buy it??
 
Went over to Conroe, TX to help a friend rearrange his house and stop by a Target I saw along the way, glad I did. ^_^

I think some CAGs have alot of competition and are forced to buy at 50% or they risk missing out. On the other hand, I'm sure that some are happy buying at 50% off or lack the patience to wait for a further drop. I've bought some games at 50% off but I do it to do a return/rebuy and get my money back at another Target. The only game that I bought at 50% off (to keep) was Locke's Quest DS since it was the only copy I found in all the Targets in my area.

This is what I do when I really want a game at 75% off and there are very few copies to be found. My biggest score doing a return/rebuy was a 360 120gb HD which I got for $44.98. :D

Target clearance is YMMV. My local stores hardly have any of the prices found here (well they have the high ones). The same games will be marked down, just not necessarily at the same times as other Targets.
 
Stopped by my local target in Shiloh, Illinois after taking in a matinee movie (Drag Me to Hell is a great movie btw). Noticed a few clearance deals...
