This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

IDK if anyone posted about this, but I saw PS3 accessories on sale. PlayStation Eye was $29.99 ($10 off) and the PlayStation Keypad was like $37.49 ($12.50 off). there was more too I think.
 
Just got back from the Super Target in Glendale Heights, Illinois. Here is what I can remember that they had:

Prince of Persia (X360) - $15 (3 copies)
LocoRoco 2 (PSP) - $14 (1 copy)
Rock Band 2 (PS3) - $40 (3 copies)
F.E.A.R. 2 (X360) - $30 (1 copy)
Banjo Kazooie (X360) - $20 (1 copy)

I can't even remember the others because it was so bad. I almost bought PoP but then I remembered that L4D is dropping to $37 tomorrow so I'm gonna pick that up instead. I wish I could live at one of the lucky Targets that already had L4D in the clearance section. It's still $50 for the original version and $60 for the GOTD version everywhere here.

Was able to snag one for $13 or so awhile back at Target. Otherwise I doubt it'll be an easy one to find since this was a month or two back. Plus only copy I found out of 4 targets I went to.

They were both clearanced a couple of months ago (?) with the PS3 version going first. YMMV on finding a copy and them selling it to you since it should be out of their system. Others on here seem to have gotten lucky for some reason, though.

Was at the target in bloomington washington today(exit 252 on i-5) and saw ninja blade for $27.98 and Riddick was clearanced at 41.98.

The deal on riddick might not be enough for cags to bite yet, but if anyone hasnt gotten a deal on this very good(if not great) game, keep an eye out for more drops

Visted 2 targets in SoCal today and nothing.

What is this clearance shelf people keep referring to. I don't believe I remember ever seeing one.

What targets are you going to? The Stratford Target is always a couple of weeks behind and the Schaumburg targets are almost a waste of time. I was at the Hoffman Estates Target a couple of days ago and they had L4D marked on clearance.

I've been checking the SoCal targets too...unfortunately for me I bought the g11 a little too early and wound up paying $45 for it...but I still love this thing :D

the best that I've found so far is fear 2 at $25 and PoP for $15 at a one that's a little out of the way.

They've changed the location at a few targets lately. I think they just got sick and tired of some hoarder or some soccer mom just pillaging it and not letting anyone else get their hands on anything. Weird I know but I think they'd be more pissed if they knew that someone else was profiting from their losses and decided to try to slow them down.

there was a couple where they just had STACKS of game and stuff just sitting there. I might go back in a couple of weeks to see what they have next.

forgot what the stacks of games were. they were Need For Speed: UnderCover and there were basically at least 10 at each of the targets I went to

In my Target the clearance rack is at the endcap between the dvd's and cd's. There are sometimes other games that are on the endcaps between the toys and lightbulbs. If you walk along the walls of the store you should see multiple clearance shelves.

Saw a new supply of Far Cry 2 :360: at another Target but rang up $29.99 instead.

riddick was the 360 version, but ps3 might have been clearanced as well, i cant recall, riddick and ninja blade were both in the glass with 2 other clearanced games as well, dont remember the titles.
 
I picked up Far Cry 2 for $9.98 yesterday but it really wasn't clearanced. As previously stated by another CAG'er, I picked up a copy of FC2 which was located in the reduced games section, I walked over to the price scanner and it scanned for $9.98. No clearance stickers or anything. The cashier could not believe it!

Woburn, MA store had:

~5 Prince of Persia (360) for $14.98
and a TON of MK vs DC for $24.98...over 30 at least...!

Oh, and I grabbed Loco Roco 2 for $9.98!
 
Grabbed Far Cry 2 (360) for $10 at the Target in Hicksville, NY.

Btw, if you want to search for UPC codes go to http://www.yoopsie.com/. I just printed out a list of UPCs and scanned them at the Target price scanners.
 
I just got back from Target in Royersford PA.
Saints Row 2 is still 24.98. (I did double check at a price check scanner to verify...)
This target has moved their clearance shelf again. The clearance video games are now at the end of the computer software isle... anyway there was about 20 copies of SA2 sitting there on clearance

The one near Stratford and the one on County Farm in Wheaton. How much was it on clearance? Hoffman Estates is about 30 min or so from me so I don't know if it'd be worth it or not.

It was at $35. I am hoping it drops tomorrow. I probably won't drive all the way up there to check for it. There is a Target closer to my house with one copy that I have my fingers crossed will make it passed this weekend. I would assume that they would be left alone today with the GOTY at $37.

The one in wheaton had a couple copies for $35 last Monday. I haven't been back since then.

I have given up going to the one near Stratford. They either don't have anything or they are a drop or two behind the other targets in the area.

I did see a copy at the Streamwood target for $35 today.

Ehh only $35? I guess Ill wait for them to drop it even further. Thanks a lot for the info though! It sucks that the Stratford Target is so slow at price dropping.
 
Got 2 copies of Far Cry 2 earlier for $9.98 each. One for me and the other for a friend of mine. I wanted to get the game when they actually clearanced it but no luck, so thanks CAGS for giving me the heads up that stores got a restock.

The Gardena Target had a bunch of PoP on Monday at $14.98. IIRC, they even had AS recently but they were gone at $29.98. The Carson mall Target has always been good for me but it has been pretty much bare recently.
 
Finally dropped Scene It Box office smash from $27.99 to $19.99 at my local target. been waiting for a while for it to drop, grabbed the last one.

Too bad that it was the last one. There are enough copies in my area that I should be able to pick it up for $9.98. I already have the first one so I really don't need/want the extra controllers.
 
Target definately got a restock of Far Cry 2, I just picked up one for me and my brother and there was 2 left. They were not there about 3 days ago and one of the sales people had told me 2 weeks ago that there were none in the Metro area at all in Phoenix. :applause:

Target in inland empire had 5-6 copies of POP 14.98, WWE 2009 for 24.98, wheelman for 41.98, Clank psp 19.98, Ncaa basketball? (did not check) and some ds games i did not bother to look. oh yeah Loco Rocco (wrong on the spelling i think) for 14.98 or was it 19.98.
 
I'm hoping WWE 2009 gets a price drop today...they had about 8+ copies and I'd love to pick one up for $12.98-14.98 ...I really wish I could find a copy of Afro Samurai though :(

It never hurts to have an extra set of controllers, in case something happens. If the 2nd game is like the first, it should come with 8 AA batteries which are probably worth at least $6. Thus, you're paying $4 for the game and controllers.

I really don't follow how to take advantage of these clearance pricing. Go to the web site and I can't find it. I read the info, but what do you do?

Clearance prices are only in-store. There's usually shelves at the end of an aisle with red-stickered clearance prices. Different stores have different clearance locations/prices.
 
4 Targets today and nabbed WWE SM Vs Raw 09 For $13 and Scene it BOS for 10 both 360 . MK vs DC Holding Steady at 30 at all of them as was DR CTYD for Wii . Although most places got restocks of POP and Afro at 15 . Tons Of SR 2 360 for 13 .
