This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

and the ones behind the rack are ringing up for $10? see all i looked at was my clearance end cap. i feel dumb as there were probably some behind the glass. im going to stop tomorrow after work and check it out.

$12.50, I meant there were about 10 games in the case. Some GOTY, some regular.

I agree that there are some prices that may be different. I got these off of the atual price tags and verified the % that it stated. That's why I said prices may vary.

I was surprised to see a lone copy of L4D tugged away behind the GOTY edition in the glass case. No clearance red sticker on it. That's probably why it was still there.

I'm surprised there has been any mention in the past few pages, but it seems like my local Targets have dug out any remaining GBA games and put them out for 30%. I saw a bunch of Pokemon Sapphires (and I better get one!), a lone copy of SRS, some Yu-Gi-Oh double pack thing, and something else....

Yeah, speaking of random GBA games popping up... my local had some good drops on Monday, which had disappeared to the back room for a few week; managed to snag afro samurai's, LOTR conquest, L4D's, loco roco 2, etc... Well I found myself back in that part of town yesterday, and what had appeared? Two minty copies of Pokemon FireRed for $13.xx...awesome (and completely random) score.

Awesome. I'm going to head there before the US/Brazil game. Do you know where their clearance section is? I have only been to that one once and could not find it (admittedly I didn't put that much effort in).
 
Surprised I haven't seen it in the initial post yet but I've seen NCAA Football 09 for PS3 at multiple targets for 20.98 clearance. I'm sure it'll drop quick as they wait for 10 to come in.

I know that a lot of stores in my area received copies of all the Pokemon GBA games when Pokemon Diamond/Pearl came out in 2007. The only one I ever saw on clearance was Ruby. So they may finally be bringing them all back out!
 
Pittsburgh CAGs: the Harmar Target still has copies of the PS3 Burnout Paradise for $13.xx. This game is definitely worth it.
 
Coconut Creek FL store has two copies of L4D left. They were buried in the case behind the game of the year edition but the clerk realized the mix up and they may have been moved to clearance by now.
 
This may be a long shot but does anyone have another fifa 09 for 360?
It was on clearance awhile ago for 15 i believe.. i never saw one around my area though.
 
Just scored FEAR 2 (360) for 12.48 and MK vs DCU (360) for 14.98 at the Shoreview, MN Super Target. They had a TON opf copies of FEAR 2. But only one copy of MK.
 
Checked my local Target (South Bay, MA) yesterday. They had nothing on clearance. I wonder if they've stopped doing it because it's been a WHILE since I've seen anything on clearance there.
 
I havent checked the Target in my area that had about 2 dozen copies at 25, if there is another drop tommorow, I hope I can get there before they're all out

If anyone has a Target that has Saints Row 2 on clearance, I'd be willing to send a couple bucks your way and/or trade a game if there's anything you're looking for if you'd be so gracious as to pick one up for me. I'm currently stationed overseas, and lo and behold, no Targets over here... :( Send me a PM if interested.
 
I checked FEAR2 at multiple Targets in the Akron/Canton area today, and they all scanned as $35. :(

Any chance of a two price-point drop tomorrow? Or just down to $25?

Also, any good flips that I should look out for tomorrow when I go Target hunting?
 
found 3 l4d at 9.98 and a copy of prototype for 42.98 idk if its new or clearance looking to trade or sell em all.. i also am looking for a ps3.. ide be willing to trade alot i have alot to trade
 
Checked the Jordan Landing and the District Targets here in SLC and there were no regular edition L4D (checked behind the other editions and no go). No copies of Lips either. Was hoping to find something to spend some money on but nothing caught my eye.

joshinwithyaa is living up to his name. Either that or he shops at a Target that prices using a different system. At the very least it is a misprice. There was one other report of L4D at $9.98, but it was another CAG Newbie who bought like 8 copies or something. True self esteem is not found bragging on the Interwebs.
 
I did the Price Change batch tonight for tomorrow morning...nothing special at least at my store.

Only interesting items were Kung Fu Panda for Wii and a 1GB PSP Memory...like I said nothing special at my store.
 
Mentor, OH had just two PS2 games on clearance. Willoughby, OH had a little more than Mentor, but nothing of note and everything was at only 30% off. Willoughby had at least a dozen 1 GB PSP memory sticks for $21. By comparison, the Micro Center in Mayfield Hts., about 12 mins. south on OH 91, has 4 GB Sandisk Memory Stick Pro Duos for $19.

Mine put out a Pokemon Emerald which I quickly scooped up since I missed out on it when came out and didn't want to pay out the arse for a new sealed copy online.

The Akron/Canton ones have plenty of the Pokemon games. Especially the Chapel Hill Target.

I cleaned out the Canton/Akron/Streetsboro/Niles area Targets last week, so if you are from around here that is why they were bare of the good stuff. I'm going out again tomorrow, so if any Ohio CAGs want something, tell me and I will look.

Finally some fellow UT CAGs. Hadn't noticed any posting in this thread for quite a few pages. Maybe I just missed them.
Anyway... Faithful, I grabbed the last Lips at the District Target just over a month ago when it was still $35. Haven't seen any other Lips in AF or Orem stores or I'd hook you up.

Went out to look for L4D came up with nada. Anyone care to help me get a copy of L4D to buy or trade then please CML. Thanks ^_^

I went to a Target in VA and even had them pull the game out of the case and scan it and it came up as $30. So is this:
a) YMMV,
b) have some stores clearanced early
or
c) is it possible to have it ring up as a higher price?
 
Its possible that your store hasnt updated certain items yet, or if other stores update early. Dont most updates come on Monday? I'd check back tommorow to see if anything has dropped. Remember though, there are some stories out there where a game doesnt drop until the last moment, or just sits at a price until its OOS
