This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I've been doing this for awhile now, you can have your own opinion on it, and to those it helps out, glad it does.

When a game I want is on clearance but is more than I want to spend, I accommodate the price to something in my range. I will find another game, with a cheaper clearance sticker and place it on top of the sticker on the game I want.

Key # 1: Find a cashier that looks like they know nothing about gaming or one that looks like they could give two shits about the company.

Key # 2: it has to be a sticker from the same system line. When ringing up at the register it usually just comes up as XBOX and a letter or WII and a letter, this does not alert the cashier to wrong sticker placement on the item.

Key # 3: Never buy the "adjusted" game alone, buy something else, place that first in line. Those items will ring up correctly. When you get to the game and you "notice" the price has come up wrong in the register, you politely advise the cashier that the price rang up wrong and the sticker said something else.

Cashiers usually change it without a question, I have even had one thank me for correcting them. This works 90% of the time.

Happy clearance hunting.

When you get to the game and you "notice" the price has come up wrong in the register, you politely advise the cashier that the price rang up wrong and the sticker said something else.

Cashiers usually change it without a question, I have even had one thank me for correcting them. This works 90% of the time.

mmm.. cheating is bad, mmkay

Welcome to CAG you fucking thief!! Now GO AWAY!!!

Put on your flame suit noob, you're gonna need it.

That is one of the flat out, most STUPID posts I've ever seen on this board. I just hope that that guy is a young, stupid kid, because I had some friends that would do that kind of stuff with CD's years ago when we were young and stupid, and, trust me, nachosupreme, you will eventually get in trouble for it; so, in all seriousness, you should stop that now.

Your ideas intrigue me. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.

Why you could even put the sticker on a game that is FULL PRICE or on an XBOX 360!!!!! The screen will say "XBOX with a number after it"!!!!

GTFO of here with that stuff.

Saw afro samurai (360) for 14.98 and Tomb Raider Underworld (PS3) for 20.98 on Rte 110 in LI

Picked up Rock Band 2 (PS3) for 14.98 & Wheelman (PS3) for 14.98.

South Austin is pretty much clear of any of the listed deals.
Well i was looking for L4D and Saints Row 2.

But neither were in stock at any south austin store or at the price listed.

I did see several coppies of Fear 2 at the Ben White Target.
Fear 2: still $34.xx :bomb:
Chronicles of Riddick: $41.xx
Tons of copies of GH3:$7.xx
Ditto at Target in Bowling Green, KY.
Wait...most of these games are 360s? I was under the impression that I could get L4D for the PS3.
L4D is exclusive to 360/PC.

Just got back from a Target where they were doing the clearance price reductions. I stalked the clearance lady for a while but nothing new dropped. BotS dropped to $29.98, Ninja Blade and Dead Rising:CtyD to $19.98.
Zero markdowns today. Fear 2, Riddick, and Ninja Blade are all still around $30-$40.
next week. i dont know if it's all stores, but my buddy that works at target says markdowns are every two weeks

I've worked at Target for four years and I can tell you that price drops are regional things. It all depends on the particular stores inventory, and the price drops are determined from there. So one store could have a game for one price while another might have it at a different price. For example, L4D is still $49.99 at my store and hasn't been marked on clearance yet.

Not all stores do their markdowns on Monday. For example, my store does them on Thursdays in Electronics, and markdowns happen every two weeks. Markdowns are done every week, but the same item won't go down in price one week, then down to another price the next week, it would be two weeks.

The price change team has to manually scan each label for the games to print out a sticker for the games. If they miss one, then it won't get a sticker. Which is the reason that some games could be cheaper than they are marked for, that certain game might have been missed while new stickers were put on. That's one reason why putting games on endcaps can be frustrating, because there are always games that can be missed.

Picked up Peggle DS for $ 10 for the old lady , Saw A ton of GT $10 and R&C $15 for PS3 passed since I dont have a PS3 . L4D , am seeing more and more of . no Sticker so im sure people are not aware of the clearence price .

no ways!!!

I actually went out to Target this morning looking for a PS3 copy, lol.
Yeah, either the targets in Ohio suck ass, or there area lot of us Ohio CAGS that clean them out immediately.
The latter.

All the Targets I usually visit (Mentor, University Hts., Willoughby, Mayfield Hts., sometimes Bedford) have had next to nothing in their clearance sections over the last 3 weeks. I never saw Left 4 Dead on clearance at any of those stores. (I see there's one lonely copy of L4D in Parma. I'm too tired to drive 20 miles each way for it.) Despite the recent drought of clearance games, I got 3 games at the Mayfield Hts. store last week for 75% off, 3 titles I'm glad I held off on buying until then--Secret Agent Clank, Lips, and Banjo-Kazooie.

Saw many different prices of the same stuff in the Akron/Canton/Niles Target's today.

GHWT PS3 was $30 or $15 at different ones, FEAR2 was $25/$35, nothing notable dropped afaik.

As I said before, Parma, OH target had ONE copy of L4D according to the Target inventory lookup at their store. Wadsworth had ONE copy of Wheelman for the PS3.

Other than that, there are no Wheelmans, L4Ds, or Halo Wars CEs in NE Ohio.

I saw some last week on Temp price cut for $50, so hopefully they will drop soon overall.

I picked up an EndWar 360 headset bundle for $40 at BB two weeks ago, but I haven't seen any at Target in a long time.

My local Targets really aren't that big on red-sticker clearance. I found a Need For Speed Undercover at one store and that was it. At another store FEAR 2 was marked at $35 but the price scanner said it was $25. Usually the discount endcaps are loaded with greatest hits titles for $20 that are collecting dust along with tons of PS2 titles and Wii crap.

I decided to pick up the rest in this location. My count will be tracked in the Target trade thread.
Well, they were taken out of the case after I left. Will have to go see how many are left after I pick up the kid. LOL
Got 2 copies of Left 4 Dead @ $12.48. They were hidden behind the GoTY editions. I asked the guy that I wanted to buy L4D regular edition and he was trying to convince me that they were all sold out. He wouldn't even open the case and look behind the GoTY editions. I called a manager on the bastard. They had about 10 copies of L4D behind the stack of 3 GoTY editions.
The trick is to look for the "4" symbol on the side or the red stripe clearly saying "Game of the Year" which is located towards the top. Regular edition obviously doesn't have the red stripe and the number "4" is located slightly below. You can easily notice it, depending on where they are stacked.

At another location, I managed to find Prince of Persia for $14.xx.

Now I just need to wait for my Xbox to be shipped back from Microsoft. It should arrive in a day or two.

btw, Fear 2 scanned at $25 2 days ago. Couldn't fiind any today.
