This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I hope Fear Drops to at least $15. My local Target has like 30 of them just sitting there and I can trade that in towards Ghostbusters at GC for $30.

Those inventory checks are bullshit...I know many times the on hand counts are wayyy off especially when it comes to

No, it's not illegal to take pictures in a store. Taking pictures of a specific person may be, as under the circumstances it could potentially be considered stalking or harassment (even if that's not your intent, it could be sticky legal ground).*

Picked up 1 copy of L4D at the Tallahassee Apalachee Pkwy location. I asked the clerk to look behind the GOTY edition if their were any normal editions and he found 2 copies. I bought one and I believe he set aside the other for himself which was fine by me.

I was actually surprised to see the Smyrna store at the same prices as Mt Juliet. The MJ store is generally the first of the 3 to drop, then M'boro. I was pleasantly surprised to see that M'boro has already jumped on the Ninja Blade.

Ninja Blade was the only 360 game on the clearance shelf. The NHL 09 and HAWX was in the glass cabinet on the very bottom. Riddick was in the glass cabinet too but in a slot.

It seems that a couple places are just placing the regular copies behind the GOTY edition. I went to Alabaster Al target and found 3 copies behind GOTY. I asked the clerk to get them for me and he picked the GOTY edition to. I told him naw I want the ones behind it, he was cool with it. I love the look on their face when they ring it up, he looked at the price and said do you want all three. He made me think they dropped even more in price but it was still just 12.48

Two things to look for depending if they are stacked or in the case. The red stripe along the top of the case is the first. The second is that I noticed the regular editions do not say GOTY on the spine of the gamecase. Thats how I noticed them in the case, the extra wordage was missing.

My trip to St Pete today didn't yield a lot of results, but in case you have a PSP, Secret Agent Clank for that is only $9.99 at the MLK Target, a 75% drop. They had 3 left.

The rest of the stuff was all at 30%.

For the rest of the thread, the weirdest thing to happen to me was that one Target here had dropped Fear 2 to $24.98, but then didn't drop the rest of the games? I was hoping Ninja Blade would have gone with it to $20, but everything else remained the same price.. first time that's ever happened with me, usually around here everything kind of drops together.

Finally nabbed that Fear 2 for the gf, the store had 2 left (where yesterday, at $34, they had 5) so I figured there was 0 chance it was going to $12. Around here, Target is VERY good about their clearance... not only is everything pulled in it's own properly labeled endcap, half the time at the stores I check it's arranged by system as well. So it's not only hoarders to look out for, but your average joe shopper who rounds the corner of the video games and comes across a nice organized stack of clearance games at dirt cheap prices.

I went with my girlfriend and did not see any L4D in the clearance section. I checked and of course you could see that there were two cases behind the GOTY without the top red border. I asked the worked to get the two in the back and scan them. They of course rang up at $12.48 and picked one up for myself and the other for my gf.

While she is terrible at shooters I figure if she has a FPS she can get better at it then, plus it'll be something fun to play with her when I go back to school this August.

Huh, weird, the stock checker was reporting the Manassas stores as being out of stock (I work in Chantilly, so I checked out that way as well). It's still showing it as "available" in Falls Church too, despite there not being any copies there last night. Guess the stock checker is not very accurate.

Anyone seen Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe still available anywhere in the northern VA area? That's the one title from last week's drops that I haven't found yet which I'd still like a copy of.

I returned a copy to the the Stafford South (almost Fredericksburg) store. It still had the $30 clearance tag and I think they were retagging it with one of the new tags. I'm in Williamsburg now and will check the two stores here when I get a chance.

Eek, yeah, that's a bit far. It's not something that I'm really interested enough in to trade for it or get someone to send it to me, just something that I'd grab if I could run into a store and get it without having to go too far out of my way. Thanks, though!

BTW, as an aside, for anyone in the area still looking for Secret Agent Clank for PSP, there were about five copies at the Falls Church store at $9.98 last night. No idea where they came from, as I don't remember seeing it at that store at all before. Not much else there that I haven't seen everywhere else.

Not exactly Game related, but I was able to pick up the Asus 8.9" Eee PC for $209 -$10 coupon I got in the mail a couple weeks ago. So I couldn't help, but to snag a midget laptop for $199!


More Game related: Just about every Target I go to has ZERO copies of LIPS left in stock. (Zero L4D too). A couple of them though look to have plenty of NHL 09 copies though
So I will just have to wait a few weeks for it to drop to $15 before I pick one of those up!

FEAR 2 finally dropped to $12.48 here after visiting everyday for several days and scanning prices after it was reported here. I haven't seen any L4D at my Target in a long time and never on clearance.

BTW: Ratchet & Clank (PS3) and GT5 Prologue (PS3) are back in stock at my Target, but they raised the price for both from $15/$10 to $30. The packages are still the regular edition with the red Greatest Hits sticker.
