This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

When is the next price drop? I've been to about 4 targets now and Fear 2 is still 34.xx 50 cent is still 41.xx.
Interesting thing I found while scanning in the target on HWY 280 in Birmingham Al, Lego indiana jones for ps2 scanned for 9.98 but none were in stock. When I went to the target in Alabaster AL, it was 19.99 and naturally they had many in stock.

The price drops are random depending on store. In my experience, the drops tend to happen on Monday, if they do drop.

For instance, in my area, someone just reported a few posts up finding Fear 2 for $12.48. However, out of the 4 Target's I checked in the same city / area, 3 Target's have it for $34.98, one has it for $24.98.

imo, it's very frustrating, especially when you are waiting for something to hit even 50% and everyone else is grabbing it for 75% :p There is no rhyme or reason to Target clearance, even in two Target's in the same city. Just because of my area, my breaking point on these games is 50%, the Target's here don't stock enough and it sells on its own at 50% that I'll never see 75% on most stuff.

I guess the short answer is there is no set date on when the next drop is... just gotta keep checking back again and again. Another reason I go for 50% off, Target isn't exactly close and burning through the gas checking on it at 75%, I might as well buy it for 50% :p
 
Smarkbran- that means that both games have already dropped to 75% off at that Target. It must have been a couple of weeks back and now they are out of their system. You can try to buy them at their last know price, though. Ask them to check the price with a handheld scanner. It's YMMV whether they sell them to you at all since they are out of their system.

BTW, make sure that neither of the games have a clearance sticker on them or they may refuse to scan them and tell you that the price is on the sticker. Good luck.

Anyone seen a Sid Meier's Civ IV PC game lately? I was waiting for 1 of 2 to drop to $4.99 and someone with hid or purchased them both. I could kick myself now!
 
I saw Civ IV today for $10.

Add the EndWar PS3 headset bundle to the list @44.98

About 7 copies of it at Target in Streetsboro, OH.

I believe it's the the PS3 version. I saw the greatest hits version for $13 on clearance last time I saw it.
 
I picked up left 4 dead for $12.48 it was behind the game of the year copies they had about 10 - 15 regular copies. I found high school musical with the mat $10 didn't pick it up. I also found guitar hero 3 for 7.58.
 
Interesting thing happened today.

I went to Target back last Monday (the day prices should've been $29.99). They had one copy of R&C tagged for $29.99. DCPI # confirmed it as well.

I stopped by today and saw the same copy again, in the same place, but the price below said $14.98 with the description of NCF PS3 Ratc & Clank Futur Tool (something like that). I get the clerk to get it out of the case, and as I expected, it rang up $29.99. I got it for the $14.98 anyways, but I was very surprised that the $29.99 was removed.
 
For those looking for Burnout Paradise PS3.... isn't it just $20 at Best Buy?

With shipping and paypal, you're looking at at least $17 from another Cagger.

I think everywhere is overloaded with GHIII for 360. I have seen a lot in the clearance racks in the Targets I go to, and even more in wall of cheap games.(where they have all platforms that are $30 and under)
 
I went to the Target at Ridge Ave. today. There was barely anything there besides some shovelware for the Wii, some copies of GH: World Tour for PS3 (29.98) and 1 copy of Blood on the Sand (360) for $41.98. I was able to get the last copy of Peggle Dual Shot (13.98), but the copies of Ninja Blade that were on the online clearance locator were nowhere to be found in the store (either in the return/restocking area or they were hidden).

Which was more "overordered" by retailers? GH3 or Guitar Hero Aerosmith? Pretty soon, they'll be giving them away.

Williamsburg, VA on Monticello had10+ copies of Fear2 at $12.50.

The new Target right next to Water Country has5+ copies of L4D behind the GOTY editions and one Lips for $12.50.

Gah, I thought I saw some L4D behind a GOTY edition. I was right about it not having a Red label, too bad it wasnt the regular edition. >_

There are four Pokemon Sapphires at the Target off Culver in Irvine, and two at the Target off of the 5/Alicia in Mission Viejo.

If anyone has seen Pokemon Emerald anywhere in or around Orange County, I'd appreciate a PM. Thanks!

Found a single copy of Wheelman for 14.98 ps3 picked that up, Xbox360: 50 cent blood in sand still 29.98, saw FEAR 2 for 24.98 only two copies, one copy of NCAA 09 for 20.98 ps3, naruto 3 PSP for 20.98, Ninja blade was 24.98, and a few other wii games i believe were 24-30 something. Another target had End War bundle for 44.98 and Tomb Raider underworld for 20.98. PC game they had city of heroes for 2.98.

I've now tried 12 Targets in SoCal with no luck at finding L4D. Oh well, I'll just wait until the GOTY edition hits clearance. :lol:

I did find FEAR 2 for $12.48, so that's one good thing that happened today.
 
Found some L4Ds behind the Game of the Year edition in the case at the Carrolton, TX store on Josey and Bush. Bought 1, left the rest, go for it. I saw at least 3 more. And yes, they rang at $12.48
 
My Target (Clw, FL) had about 30 copies of FEAR 2 for $12.48.
I wonder if someone is losing their job over that order.
A couple of copies of Blood in the Sand 50 cent and Riddick but they were at the not so clearance price of around $42.

Crap, I didn't see it there last night when I was in Target. My store was cleaned out. I wanted to play Lips with my girlfriend, even though I despise most of the songs. I didn't even realize it was on clearance. :(

My store seems to have a few hoarders that know exactly when to go to the store. I get there late on Monday afternoons and I never get lucky. I'm going to be off on a 2 week maternity leave here any day now when my son is born, so maybe I'll have to stop in on Tuesday mornings or late Monday night...I can't figure out when they do drops.
