This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Haha, wow. When I was there over lunch, anyway, it didn't seem like the prices on much of anything had been updated (was this later in the day?). Damn stashers/hoarders. Though I'm amazed they even need to ask the question why -- as annoying as it is, the reason at least is fairly obvious. What I don't understand is why they don't just keep things in the cases -- there are almost always several slots just sitting empty in each console section, so nearly everything could be kept in the case without difficulty. Nice as it is to be able to take things and scan them, I'd honestly prefer that they did that (just to kill the stashing issue).

Hm . . . makes me wonder if there are any copies of Tomb Raider Underworld left in the store, and if it has dropped. That was one of the ones I was looking for today, and it was gone. :cry:

100 items, though? Geez. At that rate, it should be possible to find something by looking just about anywhere! :lol:
 
Woo. Found a copy of Left 4 Dead stashed behind some GOTY copies.

When I checked out at the front the cashier said, "Damn... I was hoping to get this tonight."

Memo to others, keep looking in the display cases...

the targets i've been too has so many GOTY editions I did not see any regular, that or other games are blocking my view of the back.
 
That's a very good point about solving the stashing problem. It must make their work a pain in the ass to deal with things like that. they should put a memo out if someone is purchasing the entire lot they should limit them to one that would teach them a lesson! haha

One of my local Targets (First & Shields Fresno CA) had a ton of Endwar PS3 Bundles for $22.48. I bought one at least (the headset is worth it alone...). They should have plenty for anyone else looking for it in the area. They also had a few copies of Tiger Woods 09 for the Wii ($12.48), plus the usual suspects (50 Cent BotS, HAWK, Fear 2 & Riddick)
 
Man, you are lucky. I live in the bay area and have only found one store with the endwar bundles but they are still $45! I think they were selling it for cheaper than that at a previous sale!
 
While on a road trip this weekend, I finally scored a copy of Lips at the Fargo, ND target. The lone copy was sitting on the shelf with the tag reading $49.99. It rang in at the $12.48 price. I never thought I would actually find it, but it only took me 5 targets through out ND and MN to do it :)

I guess they can still be found.
 
found 5 more copies of Left 4 Dead (360) for 12.48 in upstate ny... it was in the case and mispriced at 59.99 (GOTY price)... funny thing is there were no GOTY copies and the store rep told me it's probably the same price the GOTY version... till he checked the price and it rang up 12.48 :p

I hope management isn't giving the pricing team a hard time about this saying "You can't leave until you find these missing games...." Seriously people, is it really worth getting people written up/giving them a hard time so you can wait for YOUR game to drop a few more bucks? Besides it's NOT YOUR GAME UNTIL YOU WALK OUT OF THE STORE WITH THE PURCHASE RECEIPT!!!
 
Went to all 4 of my Targets and still no FEAR 2 for $12. Did grab the last Left 4 Dead at South Stafford for a buddy of mine, though.
 
Any copies of FEAR 2 @$12.48 in the Chicagoland area? ...I was also a bit curious if there are any stores that may still have copies of NBA Live 09 (X360)?

Jesus Christ Chronicles of Riddick has been hovering at 41.98 for almost four weeks now at three local Targets in Wisconsin. Doesn't look like any copies are being bought either. Drop the fucking price all ready! I'm pissed enough I missed the 14.98 deal on amazon today.

Mine hovered at 41.98 and then disappeared this week without dropping. Go figure.

They did have a copy of 50 Cent: Blood in the Sand sticking around at 41.98 for a million years.

I know what you mean, I've been watching them forever at the Waukesha and Delafield target, they aren't dropping at all

Been waitin on this too and lucky me when I got there the copy that had been sitting there for weeks and gathering dust then *poof* gone! I shouldve just bought it and did a return/rebuy like I did with Dead Rising.....

Going today to see if any drops, but doubt it..... Do people seriously think Riddick for 41.xx is a deal? I've been to two targets and one had some a couple weeks ago, now those are gone. Saw a lone copy of MvsA, but don't know if I want to spend 12.xx for a game my son may not care about.

My local Target had Fear 2 for $24.98 still and one copy left of Afro Samurai for $14.98. Left both since I haven't even finished the first Fear game and I already have Afro Samurai. The DPCI for Prince of Persia stated that the game was out of the system, so no $7.48 drop here.
 
Saw 50 Cent for $29.xx, Fear 2 for $24.xx, Ninja Blade for $19.xx, picked up two copies of L4D for $12.xx, any anyone wants to trade, I have an extra one.

Ninja Blade at $19.98, Riddick at $29.98 (See, it's dropping), Fear 2 at $34.98 (COME ON! GOOD LORD! DROP TO $14.98 ALREADY!!!), Hawx and NHL 09 at $41.98. That's it. No 50 cent or MK vs DC :(

100?!?!? Jeez, that is outrageous. I did notice that SDvsR and PoP cleared out there pretty fast. The hoarder/stasher there is pretty systematic, I've seen tons of his stashes pop up back on the clearance rack as they are found.

I think the best way to negate this type of behavior is to keep all of the clearance games on the bottom of the cabinet, sorted by game. That way people can still see the prices and stock without the stasher getting his mits on everything. Because as shocking as it may be, there just might be someone that would want to buy that game at 30% or 50% instead of waiting for 75%.

BotS just dropped to $29.98 last Monday at this Target so I didn't bother checking yesterday. For some reason, I decided to check today (drove 5 minutes out of my way) and I found that it had dropped.

I went into Target randomly and they had 9 copies of FEAR 2 for the $12.48. I didn't even know that one was clearanced that much. Picked up 2 copies :D
 
I've been searching targets all day and can't find that endwar bundle for less than $45! If anyone would be kind enough to pick an extra one I'd pay $30 and shipping. I'm tired of searching.
