This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Keep Riddick sealed, wait for a price drop, and then ask for a price adjustment, or a return/re-buy.

thanks for feedback... what i'm not sure about is how doing that will effect the promo... like i wouldn't be able to do a return/rebuy w the promo in play after this week i don't think... and since i'd have to return both games due to this promo.. i'd prob be looking at $30 for both at best rather then the possibly awesome $22 ... still beats my current $37 bill tho...

i was actually thinking what would work best would be to find a physical copy of riddick at 15 when it drops and just do an exchange ... that's why i was asking before if maybe i should of bought 2 copies of bots so if i tried to exchange no money would be tendered just the products would be swapped

hope that makes sense

It won't work. Any return will be done at the price adjusted promo price, so if you bought two $15 games that got discounted to $22.50, if you returned one you would only get 11.25 (22.50/2) back..The receipt actually says "refund value 11.25". They won't do a game swap...They will return the game as cash value that can either be refunded or applied to another purchase...in an exchange, you only exchange the value of the product, not an actual product.

Quick question: A little while back, people were mentioned Burnout Paradise on clearance for the PS3. Does anyone have any updates on that? I'm deciding whether I should pick up Burnout on Amazon ($17 with ECA). I need it to get the FSSS. If I can get it for cheaper though.. it would be nice.
 
My stores still have not dropped Riddick, 50 Cent, Ninja Blade or Hawx.

The Target in Plainfield, Illinois.. on route 59, had 3 copies of House of the Dead Overkill for $12.xx. I picked up one of them, but there were still two left when I went home.
 
B1G150% Worked for me yesterday here in San Bernardino, They had like 8 copys of Fear 2 (Xbox 360) for $12.48, picked up 2 of them and receipt total was $18.72 says Special Promotion on top and that I saved $6.24 and says if I return one I'll get $9.36 refund instead of $12.48. So even if I return 1, I'll still would have got the 1st game for $9.36! :D That's a cheap ass for ya!!
Trying to decide if I want to do that to just get the 1 game for dirt cheap or just have one here to throw into a trade to a fellow CAG and get started in trading on here.

Problem is with the games they were a pain in the ass to take out of the Fear Slipcase that they came in without tearing it off (guess they had them to long in those plastic theft protectors), I took em out of the slipcase so I can make sure they gave me the right games and I can't put em back on, I tried and the factory sealed plastic almost tore off, it was so tight to put back on. Anyone else have this problem with their new games slipcase being stuck on it??

You won't be able to.

The promotion ends on Sunday, next drops (if any) will happen the day after on Monday. There is no price adjustments on clearance items.

If you return one of the games from the b1g50% receipt, I am sure they will price adjust the return amount to make sure the 50% off is removed.

Picked up the last HOTD: Overkill for $12.48 last night, there was BOTS for $14.98, Ninja Blade for $9.98, Hawx for $42 and Riddick for $30 still left.

I believe that Burnout Paradise is back up to $29.99; I haven't seen it on clearance in months.

yea I figured that much - that's why i was thinking if I did an exchange instead... buy 2 copies of bots.. and exchange one when riddick drops to 15... that maybe that would work since no money is effected just equal products are swapped

Target doesn't work that way. They assign a prorated value to your purchase and refund you that amount.

It's not an even swap in their minds.

Got Riddick for $14.98, forgot about the 50% off and only bought that without bots, I've been going to this TARGET for a long time and all of sudden they had 10 + copies of bots at $14.98, a couple of Ninja Blades and TR: Underworls for 20.
 
Just got back from 5th st and finally got my endwar bundle for $22!! :ps3:Motorstorm PR was marked down to $30 and :360:50 cent game was $15. They also had :ps3:Fear 2 for $35 and :ps3:Motor Storm Greatest Hits for $15.

Went to papermill, endwar was still not marked down but they also had :ps3:Fear 2 for $35.

If you are going to return it, just do it without the slipcase. It has the same barcode on the game itself. If you tear the seal/plastic you risk not being able to take it back. Some CSR's are more picky than others but none will know it originally has a slip case. As long as they have a sealed game and a barcode, that's all they care about.

Another week, another way to show you guys how my local Target is, in fact, the *worst* Target in marking down clearance items.

For anyone in Tampa Bay, this is the Target on Dale Mabry off the 275, which *occasionally* has a good deal but is often utter shit.

Why is it so bad?

Everything has been stuck at 30% for over a month. Here's some amazing prices -

Ninja Blade - $27.98 (same 2 copies have been there over a month)
50 Cent - $41.98 (and these are DISAPPEARING... what the hell Tampa?)
Riddick - $41.98 (At least 8 copies)
Hawx - $41.98
NHL 2k9 - $41.98
Some Naruto PSP game is still 30% off

And I know for a fact this store does markdowns on Monday... today they added a ton of new stuff, like Motorstorm PR for $41.98, Fear 2 (PS3) for $34.98, and some random DS / GBA shovelware. Their clearance section is now to the point of overflowing because the older clearance simply won't get marked down, and yea, every Monday / Tuesday I take it to the scanner myself to verify.

They also added a ton of PC clearance, like Riddick and Velvet Assassin too.

Sometimes this Target is good like when they had Pokemon Emerald for $17, but more often than not, it's horrible.

I would say that this is pretty chronic in the greater Tampa/St. Pete area. I was beginning to think some of these clearance prices were wishful thinking until I saw a House of the Dead:Overkill in Columbus, OH marked at 12.48 (was up there for work, left it on the shelf because I was hoping to find other stuff at other locations, but never got back there).

The TPA just isn't where it is at for Target clearance.
 
This is not a deal, I'm just bragging...I got PS3 Wheelman for 75% off. 75% off of $14.98 that is! My store never does retarded stuff like this, but I wasn't about to argue with a relatively new PS3 game for $3.74.

Yet the one lone copy of Riddick, which is what I really want, is still $42.

I work at the University Target by USF and we almost always have the markdowns I see in this thread. And we are a very low traffic target so they do not sell out that quickly.

I can second this. Brandon Target (where I work) and Wesley Chapel Target (where I live) rarely have deals. Only thing I have seen marked down is the Endwar bundle. Rarely even see the other games people list here.

And yea, I've been to that Brandon Plaza Target a few times now... not a lot of deals to be found there.
 
Picked up Overkill last week, thought it scanned 12, but was 24. So i returned it last night and came back this morning to see it restocked with a handy dandy 12.48 sticker. Sweet.
 
Not many new drops at my Target in Chula Vista (the Eastlake one) aside from Prince of Persia (PS3) at $20, I've only seen the 360 version on clearance so far.

On another note, for those of you who have children or work/volunteer with kids; it seems like a lot of toys are being clearanced now. There's stuff like Bravo Team action figures, Tech Deck skateboards (and Tony Hawk ramps and halfpipes to use them on), as well as all their Terminator items. There's also some Lego sets getting red-tagged: from the City, Star Wars, Agents, and Bionicle series. Worth a look if you got some kids to shop for, or are young at heart yourself.
 
I messed up and bought Ninja Blade and 50 Cent. Ninja Blade was $20 and 50 Cent was 7.50(half off $15). I'll probably return Ninja Blade and Keep 50 Cent and wait for Ninja Blade to drop to $10, but it probably won't be worth the trouble so I guess I may as well just keep it.

For all the other Tampa CAG's in this area, this man speaks the truth - just came back from the store. They didn't have a lot left (No Riddick's, Fear 2, Ninja Blade's) but this is what I found -

50 Cent 360 - $14.98 (2 copies left... soon to be 3, I am returning the one I just bought with my old $30 receipt)
GH World Tour PS3 - $14.98 (1 left... maybe 2)

Nothing else really of value.. a lot of the new clearance was there, this was pretty much all that was left from the old clearance.

And yea, the store is *extremely* low traffic. Thanks a ton Solsc! I hope this helps some other Tampa CAG's.
 
Finally saw some FEAR 2s out, but they're half off. Saw 50 Cents for $15, and bit on Riddick at $15, and got Lego Star Wars for the 50% off, for a total of $29.xx. Got buyer's remorse on the Lego Star Wars (since I already had it), and went back to return it. They returned $17.xx, meaning I paid $12.xx for Riddick.... I have no idea how that worked.
 
Went to Target today in Rego Park right next to Queens Center Mall... I went there looking for Riddick especially and also the 50 Cent Game. The Riddick game was $41.xx and 50 Cent was nowhere to be found. Seems like none of these stores around me follow the clearance prices.

That store gets waaaay too much traffic for you to hope to ever find anything. The minute it drops *if ever*, it's gone.
