This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Someone scooped up the ten Ninja blades from my store just hours after the change . I did get a copy of The House Of The Dead Overkill ($12)and my wife is actually playing it with me . She loves it . Go figure ???

Is the 50 cent game worth $15 ???

Anyone wanting to go to the Richardson, TX Target my advice DON'T. They have nothing for clearence games. Just a bunch of old Wii games.

The Rowlett, TX store is crap as well. They have Riiddick ($40), Ninja BLade ($30) it seems nothing ever drops at that store.
 
Went to two stores today and both had copies of Riddick, the ONLY game I am interested in, and both were $29.98. Still too much. I know they will drop at $14.98 without notice and both will be snatched before I come back. I just know it! What about buying them and in two weeks going back to return it and when you do ask what it is going for now and then rebuying it. Target have problem with that?

Yeah that's what I figured. The only Targets I can get to easily are ones by malls.. Queens Center, Green Acres, Roosevelt Field.. at least until my car gets out of the shop. I can't wait... taking the bus to go on sale hunts is horrible.

I think so... I originally bought it for $30, not reading enough about it and assuming it had same system co-op since co-op is very prominent in the single player game.. only to find out it doesn't once my gf and I had already opened it and played it.

As a single player game, if you liked Gears, you'll like this.. it's pretty over the top, the story is hilariously ridiculous, but just know that unless you've got XBL friends with this game, it'll be a single player affair. I'm just glad I found one for $15 and returned my $30 copy, because it's sure as hell not worth $30 without same system co-op.

Same here. Funny thing was I hated gears at first because I couldn't get used to the controls then played 50 cent and got used to it and went back and played gears again and loved it. I've been waiting to pick up BOTS for 20, I just rented it for 2 nights and played the heck out it. Sadly none of my friends will even try it becuase they hate 50 cents music, don't know why they couldn't just mute it and enjoy a decent game.
 
I really want Endwar about here in Reno,NV it's still 66 bucks I wonder if I should just buy it but some of you have gotten it for 22

Woah it doesn't have same system co-op? I could've sworn I saw that it did in some review...
 
A buddy of mine picked up a copy of BotS for me at 14.98, my bite point.

None of the Targets around me have Riddick or BotS for under 29.98, and that's if they even still have them at all.

Passed on NCAA 09 for $7.48
 
I snoozed i loozzzed . The three BOTHS's that were there last night were all snatched up today . Oh well my 360 is getting fixed because of the 3 dreaded rings anyways .

I finally got 50 cent BOTS and Ninja blade and got the B1G1 50% off so ninja blade was 4.xx and 50 cent was 14.98...SCORE! And this weekend I am going to stock up on the Axe packs with 300 points..I think I will grab 4 of them and even more if they are on clearance.

this is for :360: games only. B1G1 50% off. If you buy 2 Riddicks at $14.98, you would get the 2nd copy for $7.48.

I just got back from buying those exact two games. I didn't get the 50% discount on the second game, oh well. I was just happy to find BotS for $14.98 and Ninja Blade for $9.98.

Yeah, the buy one get one 50% off deal only works for 360 games $14.99 and up.

Those were good pick ups though ;). Wish my Targets would drop their prices already.

That's what the ad says, but that's not what rings up (for most people at least). I've bought two $14.98 games and the 50% off applied, and I've bought two Ninja Blades at $9.98 and the 50% off applied.

Hmm... well I'm just restating what the ads said at my local Targets. It seems to be a crap shoot whether it does work with games under the $14.99 price though.

the axe packs aren't going to be on clearance even remotely close to this weekend, the promo runs til the end of august.
 
The stacks of Riddick were gone at my store (so happy I grabbed a copy from Amazon DotD a while back for $14.98) and snagged the last copy of BotS for $14.98! Score! Initially I went in and didn't see a copy and was bummed until I moved a stack of Wii games and there it was. Good times.

I've been following this thread. Looks like alot of people got the deal on clearance games, but a few stores have rang it up the correct way and only applied ithe B1G1 to non-clearance games. It's YMMV, but from what I've read most are getting the extra discount.

Now if I could only find Riddick for 15.
 
The clearance shelf / section was in much dissarray. Bunch of Wii and PS2 games but I saw some new PS3 games. I don't have a PS3 so I just made some notes

I saw several new PC games on clearance at the Stow, OH Target just now:

EDIT: remembered the third PC game, it was X-men Wolverine. I knew it was a GFW game, but I couldn't remember which one.

I don't think the promo is going to determine whether or not these packs go on clearance. I've seen items on clearance with "special offers" before (i.e., lady razors) that are still valid and on clearance.

yeah, but they're not going to put it on clearance after less than a week when the promo is scheduled to run for another month yet...

I noticed the price tag of Bionic Commando was changed at my local Target. It now reads "NCF XBOX 360" with "Bionic Commando" below it. I know the NCF designates clearance games, so my assumption is that this game is going on clearance very soon. Granted it doesn't matter too much unless you don't have a Gamestop near you.

Also noticed Legends of Wrestlemania (360) with an NCF price tag as well.

Interesting, I'll go for Legends of Wrestlemania when its less than $20. Also hoping the Wolverine game goes on clearance.
 
Velvet Assassin and Riddick for PC showed up on the shelves today. VA is $27 and Riddick is $34. Hopefully Riddick will hold out until it drops a bit more as I missed out on the 360 version. Ninja Blade STILL $27.

I passed it on my way home, and was wondering what all the cars in the parking lot were...Seems as though it opened a week early! Now if only the Red Robin and Five Guys would open already. :D
