This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I remember when that opened... ahh... the old days... my sis worked there in the snack bar when it opened... I used to walk/ride my bike there on my way to work at the mall (used to work at Another Universe, comic/anime/dork store) ... I fucking miss those days.

My local Target had their scanners down, and of course no one in electronics. Eh, this store was always behind anyways, the only thing I really want from it is Ninja Blade, tagged at 27.xx

I've been searching around online and haven't found anything. I have a list of games I'm going to check today, but couldn't get a barcode for these.

A word of warning on both items: I bought each of these items on clearance around April/May. Finding either of these items is extremely YMMV at this point.

Thanks so much. I thought it was a long shot, but I figured someone might have them and be able to help. I really appreciate it.

I don't know if I will be able to find it, but I figure I might as well give it a go. I have a list of other games I'm going to try (my Target tends to have awful clearance prices) There are games I want a lot more than both of these, but I would be happy to get anything from my list (I've really be striking out trying to get deals)

By the way, did you like either of these games? I've heard mixed reviews on Guinness and I've never play a GTA game. I'm looking to try them, but don't want to pay full price.

I haven't downloaded The Lost and the Damned yet. I believe it's a 2 GB download. I have plenty of time to redeem the code; it expires in 2014.

I have played the Guinness game a few times. It's not a bad game but your arms will get tired fast, just doing the first event. I paid $10 for it, and I feel I got it at the right price. If you can find either game at 75% off, more power to you. Good luck!
 
Caved on GH:WT for $14.xx

Counting the free downloads I couldn't pass up 90 songs and in there including three Tool songs and a fun as hell to play Korn song.

No other drops yet still waiting for Riddick at my locations to hit $14.xx three Targets in my area still have them at $41.xx :whistle2:|

Thanks. I had a few minutes and ran over quick to see if they had anything. I had 12 games to check. All of them game back as not recognized / not found, except for one. My Target had Marble Saga Kororinpa Saga for $7.48.

Hopefully I will have better luck next time.

I tried it and when they scan the receipt it tells them that no adjustment can be made on that item.

So...went back to Target today. After waiting about 20 minutes for someone to actually show up in electronics, I checked in the case and found out that I wasn't seeing things on Wednesday. Found L4D standard edition, which rang up as not found in the system. So the guy checked the last price and it was $12.48.

That + BlazBlue LE for $22.99 used at FYE made me a very happy person today.

Oblivion Game of the Year Edition on the 360 goes for $29.99 at Targets near me... not sure about Fable 2, but I don't think its ever been on clearance.
 
Well my local Target must have had 50 and Hawx drop down to $14.98, because the single 50, and five Hawx copies were all gone. Damn hoarders.

The Fable 2 Limited Edition was on clearance back in Feb/Mar and I got a couple of copies for $22.48. They are long gone now.

If you don't mind used, Fable 2 can be found at Hollywood Video (if you live near one) for $5...if there are any copies left. People are still finding copies at some of their stores.
 
The B1G1 50% worked fine for me today, although I had to bite the bullet and pay $19.99 for Ninja Blade (last copy) but I got 50C:BotS for $7.48. NB wouldn't have made it through the weekend to the next markdown, and the sale is over Sat. so what else could I do?

This is the first time I have ever heard of Target selling oos merchandise at 10% of the MSRP. Anyways, you should've removed the sticker. They will always try to sell it to you at that price. I've even had they deny me a price check with the handheld scanner because the game was "already priced".


I finally found a Target with FFCC: Echoes of Time :ds: in stock. They had 2 copies at $27.98. I might have to pick it up at $19.98 but If I do, I'm pretty sure I'll regret later.

The Target in Carson, CA (110/Sepulveda) has one copy of Afro Samurai :360: priced at $29.98 but it scanned as "Out of System". If you do decide to try to pick it up, remove the sticker first and ask them to check the last know price with the handheld scanner.
 
There's a bunch of Endwars PS3 bundle at my Target, but they are all marked with a clearance tag of 44.xx :(
I scanned it and it still says the same price.
 
Anyone know a good place to trade in Endwar? I already have a copy of the game, but want the headset and would like to get rid of the extra copy to minimize my loss a bit.
 
2 Fiddys for $14.XX & 2 Fear 2 for $12.XX at the Target in Hoffman Estates, Il. (the one by the 90). Grabbed 1 of each. Fiddy was marked $29.XX, but I went to a scanner and it rang up lower. Snagged both for $23 and some change as the buy 1 get 1 50% off worked for me. Not bad for 2 games that retailed for $60 each at one time.

And the CAG lesson of the day is: Don't trust price tags, scan the games yourself. Thank you for your cooperation.
 
I'm happy today. I was at my Target on Sunday. They had five BOTS for $30 (scanned). Kept on reading about $15 sightings so I tried again Monday. They were all gone. Figured that some hoarder got them all priced at $15 plus B2G1 sale.

I went in today and, to my surprise, there were five copies marked $15. I happily grabbed one.

I sold a copy on CL for $10, just advertise it as sealed and brand new and someone will jump on it because $10 for a new PS3 game is a steal. I was able to get my headset for $14.55 after I sold the game.

If not, try Gamestop, if you can get 5 other games to trade in, you can get about $7.50 in GS credit for EndWar alone. Amazon has it for $4ish right now, it was $5 just last week.

Your safest bet now is Gamestop. I still have one more copy of EndWar that I'm just going to hold on to for trading fodder.

Did not know that about out of system items. At my Target there was an Asus Eee PC on clearance for $209.xx, but it scanned out of system. A few days later I went in and someone had removed the sticker, so they must have been trying to get someone to give them a better deal. Now it is gone and I wonder how much it went for. Today I found a doublepack of Fast Times/Dazed and Confused that scanned out of system with no sticker, wonder how much it would be.

The past few days my Target has been adding a few more games to the clearance section, but most have been mentioned in this thread. They finally took all of the Guitar Hero copies that were 7.48 off the shelves to make room for other games. Both 50 Cent and Fear 2 dropped this week and sold out. Still 3 copies of Ninja Blade at 19.xx and 1 copy of Riddick at $29.xx...seems like people are waiting for the next drop.

i just realized that my cousin works there i don't talk to her much but im thinking of telling my sister to ask her if she can pick me up 3 cards with her %15 percent discount and hopefully she can add the %10 card off if she has one.

basically it will come out to $10 bucks a card. well hopefully my sister will ask her and she will be willing to pick me up at least 3.

messed up thing is i just realized this today and sale ends tommorow hopefully this works out.

Employee discount is 10% and if she already has a card (most employees do) then she won't get an extra 10% off.
 
So with the B1G1 50% off, it's not supposed to work on clearance games but it automatically does it in the system right?

I've just heard of the off and on success in this thread, and I wanted to know if they people who got the discount did anything special. I assume if it doesn't happen automatically, I'm SOL unless I get an employee that is uninformed/doesn't care.

It's automatic. Seems like only some Targets fixed the glitch(?) since it's supposed to work on regularly priced games only. At every Target that I've scanned a game at this week, the words "Special Purchase" has popped up next to the price but i'm not sure if that means that you will get the discount or not.
