This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Just as a sidenote, I know ITDEFX overheard some employees at a NoVa Target saying they were in deep shit because someone had hidden dozens and dozens of games. If you are in charge of merchandise and it goes missing, it only makes sense that you would get in trouble, so I am guessing they WOULD care.

I would think that the most likely scenario is that they were salvaged. I stopped by another Target in the area on Friday and they still had 10 EW bundles at 75%...I know it never ever happens, but IF those drop further I'm going to grab another one just for the extra Bluetooth.

I'm guessing it still is but I'm pretty sure I have 1 store that allows members of the Price Change Team to snag deals while marking them down.

Yeah, it's only been a week since it dropped in that store, though, and I doubt they'd have salvaged them that quickly. I've seen things stick around for a lot longer than that (for that matter, the pile of cheerleading games has been there for a while). There were still a good number of them in the other area stores that I was in over the weekend, though.

Yeah def. hard to say for sure. But I know we have a few hoarders here who'd buy all 15 copies sans an employee discount. Slap an additional 10% off and a minuscule knowledge of "eBay" and someone might be all over it. *shrug*

Heading over now to check on some deals. Might want to pick up some of the 75% 360 games for trading fodder. If anyone is looking for something, let me know, I'm willing to send out any game at the clearance+tax price plus shipping with delivery confirmation. Doesn't really bother me because there's a post office on my campus and I head to Target anyways for my benefit. :)
 
Stopped at the Merrillville, Target to see if Riddick dropped. Still $30.

Damn it. Waiting for this to drop for the last month.

Went to the Super Target in Sawgrass Mall down here in South Fl and found Fear 2 for PS3 on clearance. It was $34.xx. Not down there enough for me to buy it, but I'm glad that the PS3 version is finally dropping.

Thanks for mentioning that, you described it just how I saw it in the store. I'll have to wait till they put red stickers up on some of the PS3 games hopefully.
 
Crappy week for me, could barely tell either store even did markdowns except the 30 pack jewel cases went to $3.48 (and one store had Endwar dropped to $22.48)... Motorstorm refuses to budge, NHL 09 refuses to budge (been $41.98 for WEEKS now...).. oh well. Means next week will hopefully be a big week, gotta try to keep my schedule clear Monday morning.

(I have noticed my Targets are dropping slower, but do bigger drops-- I am seeing more 30%-75% drops but it takes forever)
 
Bah. Target in Eugene, OR had 8 or so EndWars at $44 on Sat; I go back this morning and the scanner tells me they've dropped to $22, but every copy has disappeared from the shelf and an employee said they weren't locked away anywhere either. Oh well; managed to grab 360 BotS for $15 in any event, so it wasn't a total loss.
 
Riddick must have finally dropped to $14.98 as all the copies are gone now... NHL 09, HAWX and Ninja blade are STILL the same prices... This must be the 4th or 5th week they have been the same.
 
Just to confirm what someone said earlier in the thread, that Gamestop gives $5.00 for the PS3 Endwar game. I just got back from trading it in.

Which means the $50 headset ends up costing $17.48, if you can find the Endwar bundle at Target for $22.48 and have no interest in the game (like myself).

Pretty sweet deal.

And yeah, I might have gotten $1.00 more selling it on eBay or risking getting shot in the face to sell it on Craigslist, but I just wanted to dump it quickly.

Pittsburgh report:

End War bluetooth headset bundles hit $22.xx. Riddick still at $29.99. Everything else in line with the lowest reported prices. Nothing new to report.

One of the stores here did get all new display cases for their video game sections. No longer are the games in high glass cases. Now the cases are about half the height and games are in individual plastic cases attached to a drawstring so you can look at the game's front and back, but you still need a target employee to come over to open the case behind the display games to get to the inventory. Must say it did not seem like the best upgrade, at least from the standpoint of quickly scanning through one or two glass cases for red stickers. Clearance games still were in a random end cap, though.
 
The Target in Fayetteville, GA has the same display cases. Saw them yesterday, but I hadn't stopped by in at least 2 weeks and it had the old cases back then. I found a Left 4 Dead there I hadn't seen earlier.

Which store was this? I'm curious to see this.
 
I'm guessing :ps3: Motorstorm: Pacific Rift dropped to 75% (or stayed at 50%) because I saw none of the 4+ copies I saw just a few days ago. Nothing else dropped, just some 30% games to 50%. The 12+ EndWar bundles in the Barranca store (Irvine) dropped down to 22.48 however. I picked up one more just to hold as trading fodder. CML for games.. but I don't have much. List is in sig.
 
Once again, my store has failed me. The only drop this week was :ps3: EndWar bundle to $22.xx, and it's the most recent addition to the clearance rack. Still waiting for :360: Ninja Blade and :360: Riddick after 2 months of no drops.

It was the one in Gibsonia on Route 8. I haven't seen the new system at any other stores in the area.

I still haven't seen a decent price drop at a local target for the better part of a month.
 
Checked two targets after work. No new drops really but I was able to find a $14.xx Riddick. It was poorly hidden in the 20-30 dollar games on the shelves turned around on the bottom shelf. Somebody is going to be pist...I'm not another good Target deal on a sealed game.
 
One of my Targets that has a large stock of 360 games on clearance sold off all their 50 Cent Blood In The Sand. Damn them... hopefully one more around here will have one for $15.

They just changed the display cases in Fayetteville last week. I went last Monday and everything was in the old cases. Then on Wednesday when I checked they were in the process of switching to the new displays.

Also I have been checking for Riddick to drop to $15 and it has stayed at $30 for over 3 weeks there.:bomb:
 
All stores in the city dropped Endwar bundle to $22.xx. No drops on anything else good though, still waiting for FEAR 2 to drop, and hopefully it will since Gamestop is going to sell them for $20.
 
I picked up an extra ratchet for 15 and gran turismo 5 for 10. Picked it up for another cag. Just pay me the price i paid plus a couple bux for shipping. These were the last ones
 
The target near me has 10++ Endwar bundles at 22++. Let me know if any CAG-er is interested in them. I can help pick it up.
 
I just went to my local Target off of Olentangy River Rd. in Columbus, Ohio and had the pleasure of being helped by one of the most helpful retail associates I've interacted with in a long time.

There were three of the non-GOTY copies of Left 4 Dead hiding behind three GOTY copies, and I asked her to open the case and scan them to see if they were priced any differently. She said they were out of the system, but offered to sell it to me for the last clearance price of $12.48. I already own the game, and don't even play it half as much as I should, but I could not pass it up at that price. I am going to give her a glowing review in that little survey at the bottom of my receipt.

Three cheers to helpful retail workers!

PS - I can't help but wonder if I had grabbed an XBox-owning male associate if he would have told me he couldn't sell it so he could buy it himself afterwards. lol

I have two XBoxes, and I'll either sell it to a friend who I know is good to play it with me on Live, or keep it so my boyfriend can play it with me on his own TV. I had read on here before now that the non-GOTY versions were dirt cheap. After she did all that work for me, I had to buy the game, even if I just end up returning it or giving it to a friend.

Please let me buy it!!! My target is 30 minutes away, so I never get in on these deals. Please help me out.
