This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Weirdest thing happened to me -

Went to a Target that had 30% off all the old 360 games for at least two months now.. Riddick was still $41.98, Ninja Blade was $28, Hawx was $42, PSP Naruto was 30% off, NHL 09 was $42... you get the idea. Prices were still 30% off as of last week.

I went back today, and all the old clearance games have just disappeared. All the shovelware DS games, all the 360 games, all the PS2 games, every game that was on clearance for the past two months just vanished in the span of one week. I know it can't be hoarders, unless they just decided to not hit up any other Target (that have better clearance prices) so I really don't know what to make of this... never seen it before.

Has this happened to anyone else? The only clearance they have left is all the new clearance items, and nothing else. Can't believe some hoarder cleaned out *every* game they had, including all the shovelware Wii and DS clearance games.

Could it be that they just moved them to a different part of the store? A few of the Targets around me have been doing redesigns and have moved the clearance games to different locales.

Not that I saw - the same clearance area had games, but it was all the new PS3 / 360 / DS drops, none of the older stuff at all. I checked every inch of that dept and the surrounding ones, and found nothing.

I've seen the 30% straight to 75% jump happen quite a bit on the last few rounds of clearance, but I've never seen the 30% straight to gone before. Usually they will hit at least 50% before getting salvaged, even at the stingier Targets. Did you scan the 30% off games to make sure they weren't just completely mislabeled?

What difference a day makes! Was at Target prattville al, had already picked up ninja blade and riddick a couple days ago so was just checking stock. Wed riddick was still behind the glass and had 3 copies left, 2 copies of hawx, and 1 copy ninja blade were both on the endcap. Stopped in this morning to see what was left. Naturally those games were gone. The games I saw behind the glass were now moved to the clearance endcap. Everything was about 27.98-34.98, but what I did see was. The ones that were lower are noted.

I was wondering where all the clearance games were disappearing to and today i stumbled upon a clearance endcap where NOBODY would ever think it was... Found quite a few PS3 titles and about 75 copies of Ghost Recon PS3 lol

I saw several games that I haven't seen mentioned here at my local Target. I have a feeling that some are old games that might have gotten lost in the stock room and just put out, but some are definitely new clearances. ( All these prices are rounded up by a few cents.)

Got the PC version of it today for $9.9X, none left. PS3 version is still $41.9X and still plenty there.

This is the Columbia Great Land:

No other PC games on clearance. But some L4D non-game of the year version which scanned for $29.99.

They had lots of PS3 games, but I don't have one so I did not remember prices.
They had Hawx, Riddick, and that's all I can remember.

360 had a small bad selection like Frontlines and something else easily forgettable.

One DS Final Fanstasy: Echo something.

grabbed it there today as well - the new store in Exeter also has it for $14.98. pottstown had 2 copies left i think, exeter had 6 or 7.

Pick up dead space for the ps3 from my target Chicago the one on roosevelt for 20.98

They also had like 20 + Socom with blutooth for 40, a couple LOTR conquest for 20 as well, chroncles of riddick for 29, Some NCAA 08 for 360, also there is like 5-10 dead space copies left for the ps3.

Picked up Battlestations Pacific for $14.xx. Wierd thing is that the usual markdown for video games is on Monday and this was marked down on Wednesday. Also noticed that toys are being marked down to clearance prices on different and multiple days during the week.

Missed out on Riddick and Ninja Blade. Apparently, I went too early on Monday because when I stopped by again on Tuesday, the clearance endcap had been hit hard. Riddick, NB, NHL 09, Motostorm: PR and Motorstorm where all gone. I'd been keeping an eye on this Target since I was trying to hook up a fellow CAG. I wouldn't have minded picking up NB and MSR but whatever.

They still had 3 copies of FFCC:EoT DS (still at $27.98). Actually, they now have 4 since I returned the copy I had bought at another Target at $27.98. I found another copy there at $19.98. I'm still waiting for one more drop.

It's nice to see another round of drops. I'm hoping to pick up WWE Legends of Wrestlemania among other games.
