This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

true, I wanted to give it a try through Gamefly. Played for 15 minutes and couldnt stand it. One of the worst games I have played this generation. Wait, scratch that, THE worst!
 
Went to 5 targets in the Tempe/Mesa, AZ area yesterday. Purchased Motorstorm for $7.48, the last copy in that area.

There were copies of Dead Space just about everywhere for $20.
Socom with headset $40

Peggle DS was only available at one store.

I've been looking for Riddick PS3 at $15, but every Target I've been to in the NW suburbs of Chicago either is out of stock or still has it at $27.98.
 
Checked out the Target in Delafield, WI. And they did not have anything that I was really looking for, but I did find two PS3 Guitar Hero World Tours w/ 2 Les Paul Guitars for $22.48. I picked them both up, one for me and one for a friend.

They also had a bunch of the World Tour Bundles which only included one guitar for the same price though.

I'm in the LA area and have no problems getting games at 75% off. There are a few titles that will disappear at 30/50% off (Bioshock, Uncharted and the Socom bundle come to mind) but most will make it to 75% off. The only thing is that you have to be there on drop day or the chances of finding anything decrease greatly. Once in a while, you will get lucky and find a game that's 75% off later in the week but that is a rare occurance. When Fear 2 :360: dropped to 75% off, I found a Target that had about 15 copies. That was on a Monday. When I went back on Thursday, they were all gone.

Apologies in advance for the cliche but in a heavily populated area... the early bird does get the worm.
 
i went to target, they had the world tour with one guitar for 42$ stickered, dont know if it was wrong or what. They also had SW THE FORCE still in the case marked at 20$. I found one copy of dead space but it was 30$ for the 360. So it pretty much was a wasted trip for me. When is dead space gonna drop down for the 360?
 
I picked up dead space ps3 for 15 this morning, also visited a different target with plenty of them there also. There was Riddick PS3 for 20 and Wanted PS3 was 20 or 25, i forgot.

after 2 months of needless drama and a half dozen target stores, I finally snagged Tomb Raider: Underworld for $7.48. didn't come across any other drops around here

Ask them to use the scanning gun, if they didn't already. Not sure why it is but those things seem to be the surefire way to find an old price.
 
i found a copy of ncaa football 09 xbox360 for 7.50! sweeet

everything else was above reported prices... was hopin to get wheelman for 10 but it was still 20 with one copy left

My guess is not for awhile. I've recently seen Platinum Hits versions of it so that will give Target an excuse to keep it at MSRP.

Well this is bull, Last week I went & found a copy of Riddick for the 360 just after the two weeks they put it on clearance for $41, but when I went to buy it yesterday, it was already OOS. I asked if they could still sell it & they just looked at the sticker price on the box ($49) & said they'll sell it at that price if I want.

Do you have a Hollywood Video with a Gamezone in it? I think all of the versions of SW: Force Unleashed are cheaper than $20 there.

Just giving you a heads up in case you can't find it at Target cheap.
 
Hey guys i need some help... i have the endwar bundle that i bought for 41 bux and now it's down to 11.xx. i just stopped by earlier and the cashier told me that i cant do a return and rebuy. she wont do a price adjustment either. What else can i do to get this game? i dunno if i shud return the darn thing and just hope that they return it back on the shelf the next day before somebody else snatches it. Any ideas would definitely be appreciated. TIA

Best idea I have is that you could go back to electronics after returning it and ask if they have it in stock. If they say NO, say you just saw someone returning one to the front desk and could they check for you.

Now, assuming that Target employees aren't quite as 'helpful'(lazy) as Kmart employees, they should go up front and check or at least call them.

Once the front desk either confirms they have one that was returned or they go up in person to check, you get the game.

Personally, I'd go up to the front desk with them and smile very smugly at the bitch that didn't wanna do the return/rebuy or adjustment once the clerk from electronics gets the game in hand.:D

Of course, if the game has already been restickered with an as-is sticker and hopefully the clerk goes to get the game for you, hope that they didn't want it and they come back and lie to you saying it has to go back the manufacturer.

Did you save the receipt from the first purchase? If so, just go buy the $11 bundle right now, take the clearance sticker off, wait a day, then return the one you just bought with the $41 receipt.

Once, I went right around closing and returned a game and had my wife go up there behind me and ask to buy the game that "the guy in front of her just returned". If you try to wait for it to hit the shelves it can take some time. I tried the return and ride it out back to the shelf and it didn't make it's way to the floor until the next morning around 11am. I found it in a random return cart too.
 
Return the item late in the day/evening, and return early in the morning. Don't do it at the beginning of the week however as ppl in the know are scouring the store for the first few days.

I had this happen to me but I have two Targets about 10 minutes from one another. The difference is that I found a game I had recently purchased at another Target for a lower price. I purchased that game and went back to the first Target and returned it (had already opened up the 1st game).....they took it back. They should give you the amount you paid for even if the price has lowered because it is a non seasonal item.

If not.....return it....$30 is a big price difference...if it was 10 or less, I'd keep it. If it is meant to be, you will grab it again when it's placed back.

edit: If you don't have the receipt but paid by Credit Card/Debit, they can look it up if you plan on returning it. They say they can't if you want a price adjustment....which sounds idiotic to me.

Picked up Monster vs. Aliens (PS3) for $24.98 and Wanted (PS3) for $12.48 in Columbia, SC. Also saw Riddick (PS3) for $19.98. No Pacific Rifts left. :(

No new drops this week, but my store (American Fork, UT) put all the AXE stuff that comes with MS points on clearance. Probably because you have to redeem them before the end of September. Anyway, picked up a few items for $4.25 each and got 300 points for each of them. So essentially the items themselves cost me about .50 each. Can't go wrong there...
 
Picked up Legends of WrestleMania(xbox360) at the Rohnert Park Target. $14.98 207-22-0334. Anyone know if the PS3 is better?
 
Wait, even though my target had them still in the glass case marked at 20$ for Star Wars do you think they will ring up cheaper? If not, im looking for that game and a dead space for 360.

Hollywood Video is your best shot if those copies disappear from Target all of a sudden. I mentioned it before, but I wasn't sure if you saw the post or not.
 
Bah went looking for the New Play Control Pikmin and Donkey Kong titles and while they were in stock they were the normal $29.99. Did Mephitical's tool and got a list of a bunch of stores with them in stock around me. Guess I'll try calling them up tomorrow and see if any of them have them list at 7.48
 
Just a heads up, Targets price match policy seems to be changing as several stores have plastered signs on damn near every aisle, I dont know the terms, but mayb e the end of returning and rebuying? *crossing fingers* The signs say "New Low Price Guarantee" if anyone knows the details please share

thanks for the info! i think ill just return it. i have 4 targets w/in a 15 mile radius and i finally saw my target of choice. it just opened this month and they have some clearance games hidden behind the cases. i guess ill just kiss my endwar bundle goodbye and buy the socom bundle i found for 30. its a better game anyways.

Do you have to send a text message in order to get the 300 points, or is there another way? I never send text messages, so I just have it blocked on my phone because I kept getting ones from people I didn't know and stuff, not sure if it is worth the hassle to allow them again for 300 points.

Also, do you have to use the points by the end of September, or just redeem the code by then?


Darn... now I wish I knew where I kept the stupid coupon I got in the mail for $0.50 off Axe :D
