This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

That sounds like here too, snives. People end up thinking 'zomg 15% off is such a great price' and everything disappears before it even makes it to 30%. Either that or when stuff does linger, it's snapped up by the people who check every damn day or every week at least once.

Not once have we had deals around here where there were 20-25 copies of a game where even ONE lasted till it got super cheap.

At least when stuff gets snapped up though it prevents me from buying it and adding even MORE to my backlog.

heh, I'm one of those guys that checks almost every day and still no luck Target is on the way home from class for me, so it is just a quick 5-10 min stop. Half the time I just use it as an excuse to stop for coffee anymore, haha.

The closest Target to me is about a 10-15 minute drive and that's during off times when there's not alot of traffic.

I've rarely checked a store for deals bright and early right as they open, since most of the time it's stuff that I don't need or really want all that much. So if the deal is still there when I finally get my ass to the store, then I might grab it. But that just gives me more time to talk myself out of it and save the money for more important things.

I still hop on every now and then and I still see alot of people playing. Since its one of the very few non monthly pay to play MMOs alot of people are on playing. Also especially now since its mostly experienced gamers online your chances of getting free loot is very high.

You need to go to different Targets and also realize that you simply won't get the clearance items you want. I have to go to 3 different Targets to find some of these prizes, and sometimes even that doesn't work out. Also, remember that Target typically clearances electronics on Monday; so, if you are checking any day past Weds for something you didn't see Monday, you aren't likely going to find it.

I saw Street Fighter IV for $9.98, God of War PSP bundle for $139.98, Ice Age: Age of the Dinosaurs for $12.48 , Up for $9.98, Harry Potter $12.48, Skate 2 $27.48, GH: Metallica $41.98 and Wolverine $41.98 at my local Targets today.

All Xbox 360 other than the PSP system of course.

Noticed full game download cards of the Arcade games Worms, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and Texas Hold Em at $2.48 each.

On the XBL Arcade Worms and MK3 are each 400 ($5) Texas Hold Em is 800 points ($10), so you're saving some money if you were interested in any of these.

There was also Ice Age at $12.48. G-Force and GI Joe are still at $35. Endwar at $20 and GH Metallica at $41. Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Nice find! I'm on the fence about the game, I really want to try it, but hate paying full price. All I can remember about Zelda is when I had it on the NES and never made it past the first section. I was a lot younger and didn't know what I was doing, but I still have bad feelings toward the game :lol:

On first party Nintendo titles I pretty much buy them if I have any interest in them because it is so hard to get a good deal on them, especially new. Most other games I will wait for it to drop a little more (with the exception of games I really want and I'm happy with the price and games that I want and only have one copy left) but for Nintendo games I never wait if their is a good sale or clearance on them. Unfortunately, I've never found a Nintendo title on clearance, just at sales, for example, when Gamestop dropped a bunch of games to $20.

There was one left at 12:00 EST at the Target on W 117th in Cleveland, Ohio.

Is the box yellowish gold/black? If it's the same one i've seen there still full price at mine. I'd get one at that price though.

I was able to pick up Ice Age for $12.48 and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon on the DS for $7.48.

They also had Wolverine and GH: Metallica, but both priced at $41 right now

Scorch: I checked the DPCI on a scanner and it was still at $14.98. When I came in later on in the day to work, it was down to $7.48 and gone.

Don't you know that stashing games is considered to be on the same level as return fraud around here? Though, if it's the ONLY way to prevent the normal shmucks from grabbing everything before it drops to 75% off or El Hoardo from grabbing everything you do it, but you don't publicize it.

Actually, I believe El Stashador was the first coined moniker.

I can't decide if he needs to be all superhero'd out as well, or more normal looking, and thus more capable of working in the broad daylight as he quietly hides items in the many haunted alcoves of your local Target.

I do have a small design for him already (along with another for El Hoardo), where he resembles a sort of tiny butler. But I think I will give him the spandex treatment as well, just for fun.
