This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Picked up a few copies of Madworld today, along with Wheelman, WWF : LOW and some DS games. Adding to the trade list!
 
I saw Legends of Wrestlemania for the 360 for $15ish
Guitar Hero World Tour with one or two guitars for $22ish!
Also Dead Space for PS3 for $15ish

There was a bunch more of markdowns but nothing that stood out to me.

I left it all - my backlog and Fall upcoming game list are jammed full
 
Ugh, the target I work at doesn't even have a clearance for the PS3. It's all 360/PS2/DS games. I'll try to write down the deals tommorrow

Almost grabbed another copy of Mad World, just couldn't bring myself to do it.

I'm still hoping to find some of the New Play Control Games discounted, Drawn to Life for $10, Ratchet and Clank, etc. but so far they haven't dropped any of those. I think there are 3 left of the Drawn to Life game, 2 and 3 of the New Play Control Games and I can't tell how many they have of Ratchet, so my fingers are crossed I may be able to get a few of those games.

You guys who keep posting this are completely off base. I visited several Target locations yesterday and a whole new batch of clearance games have started the process. As other posters have noted, games like SFIV, Dynasty Warriors Empires, Harry Potter, Up and numerous games on the Wii. It's not like Target has that many games for each system anyway and they aren't going to clearance games that just came out or that are selling well.
 
My Target exploded with clearances this week. 0_o

Got TR Underworld PC for $12, I'll see if I can return/rebuy a couple weeks from now as well.
 
I also saw :360: Street Fighter IV today for $27.98 in American Fork, UT. Had about 5 copies. Hope they make at least one more price drop.

I picked up :360: Wheelman - $9.98. Maybe I'll keep it.

Also, still waiting for all that Axe stuff to drop one more time before I pick up anymore MS points, I mean Axe products. On a related note: Some jerks went through and pulled all the stickers out for the body wash two-packs because the shrink wrap only barely covers the sticker.
 
I picked up Mad World for $7.48 and Wrestlemania for $14.98. I saw Wheelman for 360 for $10 but didn't get it already have it. I also saw a ton for Shawn Snowboarding for PS3 for $10. Passed.

Thanks, just went in to check the Dual Guitar Hero World Tour Bundle and they were still $44.xx. They were the price yesterday too so I'll have to check back later this weekend. Hopefully I won't get there too late!

I definitely think Target is going to continue with the clearance games, I just think it seems like things are slowing down a little bit at the moment. Like I said, my Target went from having two, nearly over flowing end caps full of clearance games, to one end cap that is half full. My Target tends to be slow and falls behind the price drops, so I haven't seen any new games drop in price for a few weeks.

I expect the clearance games to pick up again, but it just seems a little slow for the moment, at my Target anyway. I was more or less just posting what I've noticed.

My Target had three copies of Patapon 2, but all three had been opened. I checked one and it appears the code hadn't been scratched off, but I'm quite suspicious especially since two weeks ago, two were sealed.
 
Picked up Resistance FOM 1 for 7.48 today! Also got Dead Space and Bionic Commando for 14.98 over the weekend as well as one of those sweet GHWT 2 guitar bundles for 22.48. Alabama area Targets. There's also about 10 copies of SOCOM for 40.98 still... Others they had there were Up, Dynasty Warriors, Papaton 2, etc. Most notable was Resistance for 7.48!
 
The Delran, NJ store still has several Guitar Hero: World Tour bundles for Xbox 360 and PS3 at $22.48. Some of the Xbox 360 bundles seem to have been opened, so caveat emptor.

Picked up the last 4-pack of Duracell AA precharged whitetops (rebadged Sanyo Eneloops) for $6.48.

Laugh! I bought it for $15 two DAYS ago, because it stayed at $21 for so long and that was the last copy around here. Cheer up, still an amazing price for a great game!
 
Fallout 3 PS3 is $29.xx at the Fairlawn, OH Target. (past Summit Mall off 77)

They had 7-8 copies at that price.

On the PC front, EndWar and HAWX are both $14.98 now.
 
Man, my local Target finally dropped a few games I've been waiting patiently on. Riddick down to 9.98 and Rock Band 2 down to 12.48...FINALLY! Stinkin Axe shower gel w/300 MS points still holding at 4.24. They only had 5 left, so I sucked it up and bought 4 to get 1200 pts. All codes went though fine.

I haven't looked over a release calendar, but I would expect the number of clearance games and new releases to be positively correlated. Semantically speaking, they need to clear physical space for new games, either by moving previously new games to clearance, or to the value game section (with the former occupant of that slot moving to clearance). I don't know how exactly it is determined which games hit clearance and when (for example, every copy of Tiger Woods 2009 for PS3 was put directly on clearance for 14.98 during Fall of 09. I assume this was a fluke). I would assume the Target suits look at sales data and the release date to figure out which games to get rid of.

Imagine, with Rock Band Beatles, Guitar Hero 5, DJ Hero, Band Hero, Polka Star, Calliope Master and whatever else is coming out, they're going to have to make a lot of space for big boxes loaded with plastic. Perhaps we'll see a Rock Band 2 clearance in the near future.
 
Is it weird to have my 3 local Targets still have Dead Space at $29.99? None of them have the NPC Wii games on clearance either. I've picked up most of the games I want for 75% at each of them. Mad World, Patapon 2, Bionic Commando and so on. The one I wanted most still won't drop!
 
Not many new drops for me in SE Michigan.
Grabbed the lone copy of Monsters vs. Aliens PS3 ($12.48) for my 3 year old.

He got his first trophy playing it this evening.

I'd also expect anything with a GOTY edition coming out for them to clearance out the regular editions (ala Left 4 Dead in June). Heck, isn't Fallout 3 already being clearanced for the PS3 in some stores?

Picked up a copy of Madworld for 7.48 yesterday night. Don't know why, figured I had three months to think about it, haha. Two copies left at the Target 10-15 min west of O'hare as of then. Nothing else decent to report.

The 500gb drives are gone here, but the 1tb drives that I've seen are still $99.98 or whatever they were. I'm hoping they make it through one more drop, as they're not really worthwhile until then.
 
Picked up TC:GRAW2 for $15. Probably going to return it and all the other games if remaining stock comes down further. Someone cleaned out the 5 copies of Socom w headset at the store I stopped in on my way home.
 
Picked up the last :wii: MadWorld for $7.48 tonight in Merrillville. Went from 30% straight to 75%. Couldn't pass it up.

Also saw :360: Street Fighter IV as a new clearance item for $34.98, I believe. Wanted not budging at all, yet.
 
Saw Wanted for PS3 pegged at $12.48 at the Pines Blvd. Target. I got Dead Space for $14.xx. I had been hiding the copy for about three weeks now.

Agreed. The first drop on the 1tb drives was only 15 percent, so they need to go down a little. I bought one of the 500 gb out of fear that I wouldn't get one before they dropped again, and I'm going to try to return/rebuy it. Even if that doesn't work, I am still considering keeping it since it's only 50 bucks.

awww u guys missed out on the best buy 1tb for $65 on sunday? i knew i shoulda posted it... in my area all the 1 TB are gone :(
 
I am starting to sound like a broken record...

FAIL in Pensacola FL. Worst Target for deals ever. Resistance and Deadspace holding @ 20.00 for like the 5th week in a row. Everything else dropped.

No, neither the 500GB nor 1TB HDDs have fallen further this week.

The 500GB was shown at the $49.xx clearance price in this week's ad with a note that all WD My Book and My Passport drives are on clearance.

I don't expect any of the clearances HDDs to last until another drop.
 
Went to 2 targets yesterday in Garner, NC. Both had the guitar world tour: 1x guitar bundle but they were all ringing up at 44.98, not the 22 price point.
 
The 500 GB HDDs are all but gone. There's a ton of 1 TB HDDs though. They had at least 4 in 4 different clearance sections.
 
Took me a while to find the clearance section at my Target (since they are renovating), but once I found it I was surprised to see how many games they had. They had the same PS3 games I mentioned last time, but also had 50 Cent: BoTS marked at $34.xx. They had a ton of new 360 games, Price of Persia at $14.xx, Street Fighter 4 at $27.xx, and a ton of new DS games. Most were the crappy "My Personal Trainer" or "My Vet" but I did see Drawn to Life at $13.xx. I don't remember all the games, but if anyone is in the area and interested feel free to check it out.

No, they usually don't. Well, last year they did clearance out some older guides (KOTOR, Battlefront 2, GoW2, Jade Empire, etc...). They must have done some cleaning up in their store rooms since they were all older guides. The newest guide I got on clearance was LoZ: Twilight Prince (white softcover) for $4.xx. All the other guides were between $1.xx and $3.xx. I doubt will ever see that happen with newer guides.

You might want to try Best Buy and Gamestop since they do penny out their guides. Link to Reduced Price Guide thread.
 
wow after months of not even bothering with target clearances, i decided to check the endcap and low an behold, the one game i wanted Legends Of Wrestlemania for $14.98... NICE!!!
