This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I think it's YMMV. Last year, I found a Harmony 520(?) remote that was clearanced at 50% off. I posted that I was waiting for a drop to 75% and someone responded that the remote had begun at 15% off so it wasn't going to get to 75% off. Sure enough, when I scanned it again the next week, it was "out of system". It went 15%/30%/50%/OOS.

That being said, I recall that someone posted that they were able to pick up an Asus Eee notebook at 75% off so who knows? Recently, I saw a WD portable harddrive on clearance at 5% off. It's MSRP was $59.99 and it was clearanced to $56.98. I'm thinking that it'll go 5/15/30% off before it is salvaged.

BTW, I also found a Target that has those Kingston SD cards on clearance. I had forgotten and will stop by to see if they dropped further. Thanks for the reminder.
 
Lots of good price drops at my Target, I had thought they had already done the drops as I saw the clearance team scouring the area. Thankfully I noticed when they went back over to the games.

Managed to get Dead Space (PS3) for $7.48 (now to find the receipt for the one I bought at $14.98) and 50 Cent (PS3) for $12.48 (dropped straight from $34.98).

Weird occurrence with XBlades PS3, I asked if it was going to drop and she took it away from me and went to ask the main clearance person something. She came back and told me the game was going off clearance and "going to a normal price of $14.98" (which happens to be the next clearance price drop) which was really odd. They acted like I screwed up, even though it dropped. (still decided not to get it)

They also had Kingston 2GB SD cards for $8, I asked them to scan and she said it wouldn't drop to 75% as "no electronics drop to 75%"-- is this a YMMV or does Target really not go to 75% on electronics anymore? (and no, it didn't drop, and she warned me the next "drop" would be to salvage)
 
emg28 has it right. Most expensive electronics go by the 15%/30/50% off schedule before dropping OOS. Where as most video games and accessories go by the 30%/50/75% off schedule. Although lately, they have been goofing up clearance prices at my store like clearanced Legos which were split between the 15/30/50 schedule and 30/50/75 schedule which they all should have been.

I also noticed that hard drive that was only 5% off too...odd.
 
finally found a target that has the Socom for $14.98, but they are out of stock and the girl wouldn't do the price adjustment for me, saying that the computer is locking her out since its a clearance item. does anyone have any experience with type of situation?

Chances of getting a price adjustment on a clearance item is very slim. It's even much less likely if there are no more left in stock. The best way of "price adjusting" is being able to find another copy at the lower price and returning it using the older receipt.

They will not do a price adjustment. If you look at the signage on the wall in CS, you will see that under "Price Adjustments" it states that clearance is excluded from price adjustments.

The only way that an "adjustment" can be done is for the clerk in CS to do a return and immediately sell it back to you at the lower price (return/rebuy). YMMV on them doing this. If they won't do a return/rebuy, the only way for you to get the lower price is to actually return the item and buy it again once they put it back on the floor.

That's what I tried doing yet the lady said that the computer is preventing her from ringing that item up again.

There's even a disclaimer on the box that says these don't have the touch strips like the other WT guitars. Pretty lame. I was going to pick up a set but, unlike most people, it seems, I'm not a big fan of the GH3 guitar. I already have one of those and I don't want anymore. If they had the touch strips, I probably would've bought them, though. I might change my mind if they're still there and they drop further in price.
 
Picked up :360: Wanted for $12.48 today. Heard it was a bit on the short side, and the reviews have been okay. Figured it worth a shot.

That's why I thought it's weird that a portable HD would start at 5% here. Here the 1 TB desk external HD started and is still at 20% (99.xx) and the 500GB is at 50% off.

My question is did the 500GB start at 30%? I really need one, but am really strapped for cash so $25 would be a godsend, but I don't want to miss out if 50% is the final in system drop. Thanks.

I picked up the SOCOM Bundle for $15 and promptly traded in the game at gamestop.

I only wanted the headset anyways for use with my cell phone.

The guy at GS agreed with me that the game didn't really matter since the headset is so expensive in the first place.(at MSRP)

That was the last SOCOM Bundle in the Akron/Canton area that I have seen. I got it at the Stow, OH Target after finding that the ones at Chapel Hill, OH were gone.

There was one copy of :ps3: Dead Space at Chapel Hill, OH marked at $7.48


I'm now waiting for EndWar and CoH: Tales of Valor to drop to $7.48 :D
 
My target FINALLY clearance dropped the Xbox 360 - Guitar Hero World Tour Dual Guitars from $44.xx to $22.48. Used the $5 coupon I got from Guitar Hero 5 with no problems :)
 
Picked up Dead Space for PS3, $7. Saw a couple of the 50 Cent game, I believe $12. This is in Cupertino, CA.

Update on the Target in Coralville, IA. They have about 15 Socom Bundles at $14 and 3-4 Guitar Hero WT guitar bundles for $22 (both for PS3). There were about 8-10 Legends of Wrestlemania at $14 and 4-5 Wanted WoF for $12.
 
Was able to get the last Force Unleashed (360) for $7.48. Had a different type clearance sticker on it for $14.98, but decided to scan it anyway. Didn't want it at $14.98 due to the new version coming out and Hoth not being DLC, but couldn't help myself at $7.48.
 
Grabbed Wanted ($12.48) and the single guitar GT5: WT bundle ($22.48), both for the PS3. One of each left at the Montgomery/Wyoming Target in Albuquerque, NM as of 6 pm.
 
Grabbed :ps3:Chronicles of Riddick: Assult on Dark Athena for 9.98 in Riverhead, NY. I thought I had saw others on here say it was ok and I figured for that price, why not. I'll play through it grab trophies and trade it in at TRU for 17.

The TIV for it is fairly good, I traded mine in for $15.xx at GS after Edge + pre-order of MW2. So with Edge now it should be about $12 I believe, just thought you might wanted to know.

Hey... does anyone else wait until those mix music CDs "SUPER AWESOME METAL HITS", "50s CROONERS", "60s GIRL GROUPS" etc. drop to $2.24 and then grab em? I love those things, lots of good tunes by the original artists for like $0.17 per song.
 
Piked up the GH-WT bundle for 22.48 at the Marion, Il Target- Everything else was picked clean. Most of the Red Sticker Clearanc was too high for my taste.
 
I don't understand how all Target's don't have standard pricing nationwide. The guitar hero sets in the Fresno,CA area are still at $63. Employees tell me the prices come down when the individual stores mark them down.

Also went to two stores that both had fallout 3 add on disc for 19.99. Has anyone picked this up on clearance in NOR CAL? I have never had people find a clearance game and it not show up at my store.
 
So today I picked up Wanted Xbox360 $12.48 and Warhawk Ps3 $7.48. Now I have to return the copy Of warhawk i bought 2 weeks ago at $12.48. So this is what I do Instead of return and rebuy. I generally don't like to pay over $15.00 for a game so if I see it for that or less I pick it up. Now if within 90 days I see it cheaper I pick it up and return the higher price one.This works for me.

I've never seen those on sale at my store, though I've not really looked. I'm assuming those are the ones that are like $10 bucks or something at full price, I bought some for my parents, but that was in Ohio and I'm thinking they were around $10. Wouldn't mind buying some up at that price to fill my Zune, probably not a lot I would normally buy, but at that price I'd definitely get the ones I like.

Are they in the clearance section with games, at your store, or are they somewhere else? My Target tends to move clearance things around on my quite often, so I find myself hunting things down half the time!
 
TIV of SOCOM was $2.25

It's about $5 cash at FYE, I believe, but I didn't want to drive all the way back to Chapel Hill.

I always find them with the games at three different Targets I shop at. I sometimes hit a fourth, but not often enough to see a pattern. Maybe look around-- the games at my Targets are often in two different places, one endcap near the games cabinets, and one endcap in the CD/DVD section. Maybe you just need to find the other endcap!
 
Went here in SC to Target and checked out the clearance rack. "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" was $30, "Wanted: Weapons of Fate" was $25, and "Legends of Wrestlemania" was $15, all Xbox 360 games. I hardly consider 25-30$ "clearance" myself.
