This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Does anyone else think/know that the 1TB external hard drives will go lower than $59.98? The price ends with an 8 and not a 4 so I assume it will go to 75% off.
 
We seem to be behind a couple weeks here on markdowns. This Monday SF4 (360) finally dropped to $24.xx, and the Fallout 3 (Operation/Pitt) is still $9.98. Nothing down to 75% off except PC titles this week, most console was marked down to 50% off.

It could, but I think most people will bite on that price point, so good luck finding it.
 
Stopped at the following:


  • Bergen Cty Mall Target - licked completely clean other than kiddie games and a bunch of ps2 TR:U

  • Hackensack Target - 1 copy of :ps3: X-blades $14. bunch of wii shovelware for $14.xx, lots of psp stuff but didn't check the price. World of Goo $3.74 (got the last copy)

  • Edgewater Target - Bunch of :360: titles, mostly harry potter and SF4 for $19.xx. Again licked clean of PS3 titles. Still had World of Goo @ $3.74.
Was so disappointed I decided not to check the last Target on my list, oh wells. Every single Target had Fallout 3 @ 59.99, soooooo disappointed.
 
Anyone in Irvine see any PS3/360 games? Last time I hit up my local ones.. it was just all DS Petz/Bratz games with a shitload of crappy PC games.

Just picked up Sacred 2 for the PC at my local Target for $12.xx

I almost bit when it was $20 at either Amazon or Gamestop (don't remember which), but I'm glad I waited. They also had the Logitech MX518 on clearance for $19.xx, which is a GREAT price for an amazing gaming mouse. It's too bad I already bought mine months ago for almost $40. ;)

I've seen some X360 games at some Lake Forest/Mission Viejo targets, but nothing very good. Mostly SF4 for $27 and Harry Potter for $20.

I bit on the Amazon $20 deal for Sacred 2 Collectors Edition - it was 50 cents more than the regular version - I couldn't pass that up.

I love my MX-518. Have 2 actually. Now I'll have to keep an eye out for this one, since my left-click is getting a little sluggish. Thanks!

I think they will go down in price,Ive checked 2 targets one in federal way,southhill in washington and both had a huge stack of those 1tb harddrives for 59.xx.Im sure they will go down in price in a week or 2.

By Bergen Cty Mall Target, do you mean the Bergen Town center in Paramus?

Since you are in the area. Did you go to the Target greatland in Fairfield and see the deals there?

She was apologetic last night and kept saying that this was the protocol and she wasn't going to risk getting in trouble over it. She said to call her in the morning and she'd hold it and she did. If I'd been there 15 minutes earlier, I could've probably wrapped this last night. It was a hassle, but it worked out, so in this case I'm not gonna scream "I'M BEING OPPRESSED!" over it.

Found a WD 1TB HDD somebody had hid behind some stuff. My local T has been out of these for a couple of weeks. Scanned it and it was 59.98, so I snagged it. Not much left for games, mainly just PC and NDS junk.
 
Picked up FEAR 2 for the PC for $10. Aside from that, just a ton of Wii/DS/PS2 shovelware. The 2 local ones here have been really crappy lately when it comes to deals.

But I did see some Zunes and some of it's accessories on clearance. The Zunes themselves were $60-75(don't remember the exact price) and I think it was either the 4 GB model or 8 GB. It looks like it can be a great deal if you wait a few weeks, since one of the local Targets had dozens upon dozens of them in a case.
 
Picked up WWE Legends of Wrestlemania for $7.54 today. They also had Dynasty Warriors for $19.98, Harry Potter & Terminator Salvation both for $24.98. All titles were xbox 360

If I was you I'd hedge my bets and get one now and wait and see if I could get one for 75% later and then return the 50% off one if it does work out.

Picked up a few of those mice for myself and family at that price; too good of a deal!

Also, got $12.XX :pc: Sacred 2 for my brother and :360: DW6 Empires for $9.XX.

I found Sins of the Solar Empire for $9.99 clearance at the Beaverton, OR store. I didn't see that mentioned yet and it's a great price for a great game.

Ya it's the Paramus Target off Rt 4. I didn't go to Fairfield, although I probably should have. If you do let me know if there's actually a ps3 game there, still kinda want Wanted or Damnation if they're dirt cheap. Need to snag Fallout 3 for $14, but judging at what I saw at the other stores i dunno if it's gonna be that cheap. Never know!
 
Just saw COH:Tales of Valor was on the clearance list.. Looks like it dropped a couple of weeks back though. Anyone still seeing it at their stores? I am going to look for it today. Was curious to see if it was still around though since it dropped a few weeks ago.

That's my exact plan. The HDD box is staring at me across the room unopened just waiting to get hooked up to my laptop. Isn't the return policy 90 days?

PGR 3 is a great game and definitely worth $5 IMO.. I actually like it better than PGR 4.

Typo, it was actually 4, but hearing that from OD makes me a little sad. Regardless though I'm pretty much a sucker for anything under $5 that's X360 or PS3.
 
Man. Should've went in on Monday. Looks like the SOCOM bundles dropped to $14.xx. There was one "repackage" out for $10.49 left, but the headset was gone.

This was over in Valparaiso, IN.
 
Store had no games, but about 8 1TB HDD. Grabbed one. Probably will pull the drive and install it in my PC, then put an old small SATA drive in the mybook. Great deal though.

I saw that Monday, Not sure if Singularity is a good game but they had them as well. I didn't notice any other games, but I have pretty much given up on PC/Mac gaming in favor of the Xbox.

Very few Xbox games on clearance at either this store or the one on 185th & US 26. Poor shopping days ahead for xbox owners at target until some new games go on discount.

Man, I'd pick up that lone SOCOM. Just want the game as already have a headset from the Endwar clearance. Valpo is too big a hike for me though. :(
 
My local Target @ West Shaw in Fresno, CA had 2( now 1) copies of Socom Confrontation w/ headset for $14.98. Good for me, I basically bought it just for the headset. I might try the game out again , I had bought it used but returned it like 6 months ago.Maybe after all the patches it will be better. Headset works with my phone too. Sweet find I must say.:D

I remember that happening with Farcry 2 as well.
Ithaca Target only had SFIV for 30 and Harry potter for 35 (only looked at 360, sorry). About 4 of each.

Yes with Far Cry 2 it hit the $14xx point couldnt find it then when I finally found one it went back to $29.99 :(
 
These Targets in Charlotte (The one downtown and the one in Carolina Pavilion) are really falling off. I Went there a couple of weeks ago and they had a OK selection. Today it seems like they raised some prices and stop putting stuff on clearance. I dunno, i am started to get discouraged now. End War rang up for 29. They did have Wolverine for PC for 9 but still.

say, for example, if I took back the unopened Force Unleashed I bought for $20.48, along with the receipt, would they honor the fact that it has since gone down to $7.48 & give me some cash money?

1 copy of 50 cent Blood in the Sand (PS3) for $12.48 left.
That was the only PS3 game.

I managed to grab the last StormRocker gaming chair on clearance for $19.99.

Has anyone tried one of these and have feedback? The normal price was $80 so I figured I'd give it a shot for $20. It's gotta beat sitting on a beanbag.

Very YMMV, some Targets will let you return them immediately rebuy at the lower price, it helps if you can find an employee who looks like they really don't give a shit.

The more likely response will be that they'll do a return but the item will have to go back onto the store shelf and you take your chances whether you get it or not. A suggestion in this case is to return in the evening then go to the store the next morning for the rebuy attempt.

You won't ever get a straight up price adjustment like you would at say Best Buy, they don't do that on clearance items.
