This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The employee was nice enough to live me the sign that posted the price so I can price match. I called my local Bestbuy and they told me I can price match but if the Target doesnt have the item then they wont price match. But the online store of Target has it but its $30. I hope its clearer. I just want to get the game but I dont want to spend $30.

If you can find a used copy at a Blockbuster by you, it's $19.99 there. It'd save you the hassle of having to PM and everything.

There were a good amount of copies of half a dozen PSP games, none of which were below 50% off. I didn't see a lot in terms of 360 games (Up for $19.98, a few other titles at 30% off), but saw no PS3 games.

It still remains a crapshoot. The other guy needs to schlep his ass down to target too and it's anyone's game. You can be surprised at what is still available esp if you have a few Targets you can hit and are the early bird.

I have class at 11am on Mondays. I've actually woken up an hour earlier (9am) a couple weeks back to hit up 2 out of the 3 Targets near me to find a copy of Dead Space. Swear to go, BOTH of them were picked clean of the 10+ copies of Dead Space, 5+ copies of Bionic Commando, etc, etc. It's even funnier because later that night, I browsed around Craigslist to find some dude spamming he's selling sealed copies of Dead Space for $20. Obviously.. there's a hoarding flipper in my town.

the thing is not a single of the 20+ GS in my area have any used guitar controllers anymore. On top of that they are willing to sell me a new guitar for $70.

Target's online has it priced at $29.99 so really out of luck if they go by Targets online price, and universally the game is suppose to be $29.99 New. Since Target's in store sign is not an advertised price but a clearance price, it would be difficult to get it matched, if even at all. Maybe possible if you get Best Buy willing to call Target store to ask directly... But even then the issue now is, does Best Buy match clearance prices?
Of course you could get lucky and they do it anyway...Still doubtful in my opinion.

I'm just letting you know the quality difference between the RB1 and RB2 guitar is significant.

You'll end up getting in fights over who gets the 'good' guitar.

BTW, has anyone tried buying and returning something at 15-30% off to see if they slap an as-is sticker on it and bump it to 50% off, like I was told they do by multiple employees?

I'd love to know if that policy is 100% correct, since I'd definitely try that with an HDtv or other bigger ticket item, just to get it to speed up a bit in the clearance cycle, since the local stores take in' forever to drop shit.

I will continue to check target clearance, it must be a drug, I can't quit even though I know I'll never find anything.

Out of luck I managed to head out around 9am a monday or two ago. Went by the clearance endcap found a bunch of 360 games, mostly what's been mentioned sitting at 75% off. Thought about it decided I wouldn't play them and looked around. A few minutes later I found somebody who was friendly with the employees (I think he was one, he looked familiar) in the electronics section looking at all the clearance stuff to see what he wanted with literally every 360 game in his hands. I now know why I can never find anything Monday afternoon, I can't afford to leave work monday morning to shop.

Got to love the resellers. Good thing I must have a 3 year backlog.

This post is not directed to you EvilIA, I just didn't have a person to quote. So my post is just under your's by chance.

Why do so many people think there are so many hoarders everywhere?
Why is it like a knee jerk reaction to think this?

Isn't it possible that there are many CAGs in your area?
Or the store pulled all the items for a credit?
Or normal people just saw a good deal and bought it?

I'm not saying that there are no hoarders, but that there are a lot of CAGs and a lot of non-registered CAGs.

Sometimes you're lucky and sometimes the other guy is lucky.

For the record. I don't know if this specific person was buying games for friends or to sell. I just put up the story as I found it funny and posted to amuze the CAGs. You are however completely right, I happen to be there for the reason that day the 360 games disappeared. It could have been sold out for any number of reasons, including myself.

I think we all secretly love to hate the SD/FW/CL/EBay hoarders. It makes us feel better when we miss out on a deal.
