This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

They can't reject you so they usually will sell it to the last price known which would most likely be 75% off (7.48 for most games).

Actually thats not true. Targets, Walmarts, K-marts, etc. are all private property. 95% of the time, they will sell you something, but for that YMMV, sometimes a store will flat-out refuse to sell you an item if they feel suspicious. Case in point, I got rejected twice for trying to pick up some penny guides found at GameStop and BestBuy.

My point is, not to go into a store thinking, that they have to sell it to you. Just play it nice and cool, and you shouldn't have a problem

My store never has anything of interest other than the Res Evil 360 mishap a few weeks back. Other than that usually the only clearance games are the ones that no one would ever purchase anyway.

Pretty sure most businesses reserve the right to refuse service to anyone (within legal means, not based on race, gender, etc.) that means all they have to do is say no and you are SOL. This is usually only when things like penny guide or whatever come up, but if they don't want to sell to you, they don't have to.

That's flat out insane. I've yet to find a copy for under $19.98. I'm still holding out for a $10 PC version, but not likely from Target. My two local Targets moved their PC SFIV copies to the stockroom (still marked @ $49).

Spotted Terminator Salvation 360 for 12.48 .. and go figure, someone yoinked the disc out of it. Not the first time I've seen a 14.98 or under game stolen. Seriously, if you are that hard up for a game that you can't pay $15 or less for, GTFO.

Looking at the 360 section I noticed a ton of games with the NCF designation on their pricetag.

Correction, ALL Wal-Marts are selling it for $10. Also, I haven't seen Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon at any of the 6 Targets I regularly visit, not even at $20.98.

Usually when it is not on file the register just prompts for a price. So if you have a chill cashier they will just ask you how much the tag said, so you give them a price.

That is how I got my Logitech Harmony remote for $12 (I said $11.99).

It doesn't hurt to try. Just don't make the price something unreasonable (like 50 cents). And if you're going to do that, then I would suggest removing the $41 price tag.

Went to the store in Webster, NY looking for the Socom bundle. They didn't have any left and I even had them check every store in a 100 mile radius. I did see a $14.98 sticker for Uncharted but they were all sold out.

TARGET in Sterling Heights MI today had a lot of PSP games on clearance in a plastic tray from SOCOM to GOD OF WAR to Wolverine Origins to Dragon Ball Zzzzzzzzz. I did see Wolverine Origins for Wii for $12.48 and got excited when I saw the PS3 version underneath it...for $41.98. Boo.

My Target had one of those too but it was scanning @ $49.99,...the box was pretty beat up.

I went to a Target (Cerritos, CA) that is out of my area and I felt like I had gone to a bizzarro Target. It's been a long time since I've seen a Target with the old scanners (with the old screen and without the number pad on the side) but this Target had them. When I checked the clearance section, they had several copies of Fear 2 priced at $34.98. When I scanned the game, it came up as "out of system". The thing was that all the games were in a plastic security case with the sticker out of reach inside the case.

When I went to the glass case, they had all their clearance games on the bottom shelf but they were placed so that you couldn't see every title (ala K-Mart/Sears). It makes me wonder how many older, "oos" clearance games they have in stock. I doubt that I would've been able to get them to check the last known price with a pda (if they even have them ).

As I was checking the clearance endcap, a guy was browsing at the same time and he mentioned that Fear 2 was $34.98 and that he would wait for it to drop below $20. He walked away before I could tell him that it would never drop (even before scanning it, I knew it would be oos).

When I went to the next nearest Target (Cerritos Mall?), they also had the old scanners. The clearance end cap was full of shovelware and games at 30% off but atleast most of the games were on the endcap. BTW, this Target was a Target Greatland and it is the biggest Target that I've seen. There is a Target near me that used to be a Greatland but it was nowhere near the size of the one in Cerritos.

I saw Riddick and LOTR Conquest today but they did not have price tags on them. So I scanned them and they were both out of the system. Then I had a woman in the electronics department scan them - Riddick scanned at $9.98 and LOTR scanned at $7.98. I pick both of them up to add to my library (a.k.a backlog).

I picked it up too for $12, the multiplayer is kinda fun and last week when I played had no problem finding a game to play with people.

Picked up Terminator at $12 last night and noticed there are still 20+ copies of SF4 for xbox.
