This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I used it on World Tour on clearance with no problem. Not sure if Metallica is on the coupon but you could give it a shot.

Why wouldn't it work? It's a manufacturer's coupon to my knowledge so Target is getting that money back no matter what price they sell the game for.
 
saw dirt 2 and redfaction today... very tempted with red faction but I've got too many preorders coming in the next few weeks and I've held out this long might as well wait for the MSRP to get to that point in another couple months...

also saw :360: GTA IV for ~20. was tempted by this as well maybe in a day or so I drop back by

should work 100%... well as well as any coupon works at target... I would say that 95% of coupons I use at target have to be over rode on the system by the cashier... in fact if you look at some coupon sites people talk about which key it is and make jokes about it... so it's VERY common...

That being said... I've used coupons on other non game items that are on clearance at target... no problem
 
I know its not game related but it was such a good Deal I picked up a Tom Tom 140 s for $49.98 said it was originally $199.99. there were 7 left in North Haven I really wanted theXL model but it was still $169.98.

Guitar Hero: Metallica is on that coupon as well as Band Hero if anyone wants to wait for that to drop. Shouldn't be long.

Wolverine should hit 75% before Black Friday, but all these new drops today like Red Faction and Wolfenstein won't survive holiday shoppers who will buy anything with a red sticker on it.

Technically, no. There are two editions of the game, X-Men Origins Wolverine and X-Men Origins: Wolverine Uncaged Edition. The PC, 360 and PS3 versions are the Uncaged Editions due to the Mature Rating and the PS2, PSP, DS and Wii versions are the regular version due to the Teen and Everyone 10+ Rating. There are no Game of the Year or DLC packaged versions out there that I know of.

Street Fighter IV (XB360) - $9.98 (about 20 copies left)

I wasn't planning on picking up SFIV, seeing as SSFIV would arrive sometime next year (and I wanted it for the PS3), but for ~$10, it would give me a preview of what to expect (for the most part) in terms of gameplay.

For $10 it's worth your time for sure, especially since there will supposedly be some sort of mystery bonus for SFIV owners in SSFIV.

Yes they do stack. Buy 6 games then use 3 $10 off coupons... Success stories has been posted in SD.

From SD...
"Free offer includes all $49.99 or less Wii games. Each purchased Wii game must be equal to or greater than the price of the free Wii game."

To get 6 games for $30 you buy 6 of the $15 games.
4 (2 free) x $15 - 3 x $10 TQ = $30 plus tax

Deal would be different for the $50 games:

To get 6 games for $170 you buy 6 of $50 games
4 x $50 - 3 x $10 TQ = $170 plus tax

The register will group the items and prorate the discount between the 3 games (the 2 you buy and the free one). So when you buy 6 games you use 3 coupons ($10 off when you buy 2) and they all work. The register will not beep.

My local Target had a pretty craptacular selection, but I bought two copies of Shaun White Snowboarding for PSP. They were $4.98 each, so after the $10 coupon, they were free.
 
Just came back from Target and was very tempted to pick up (all for 360):

If they survive another price drop I will most likely buy, but they are a little more than I want to spend right now. I was waiting for Wolverine around $25 or less and Fable 2 will be coming out with the platinum version.
 
i scored fable 2 for $7.50 (75%)... nice... i think even w the goty vers coming it's still a good deal

wish i had that coupon handy a week ago so i could use it on fable 2 and sf4.. oh well hopefully some clearance stuff will survive the coupon showing up and holiday shoppers
 
I don't know how it is in you guys areas, but around here, after the holidays/during nov/dec, alot of the big name department stores get cleaned out of everything. People just grab whatever they can find including clearance stuff no matter what the price is they just assume it's a good deal.

I know what you mean. I scanned over the case of that thing for a couple minutes trying to figure out if the e-reader was in there or not. At my store it was still $34.98, which I was willing to pay for the e-reader. It said it was originally $70 and I really didn't think a case would be that expensive. When I finally found the note that said it was not the e-reader itself I was really disappointed, would have been a great find.


On another note, I went to Target today hoping to find some good clearance and/or use some of those $10 coupons. I really couldn't find any games worth getting and using the $10 on. I found a few in the Buy 2 get 1, but could not find a third title I want to get, so I skipped it. Would really make for a nice deal though if you could do both.

As far as clearance, my store still has everything where its been, only thing I noticed that went lower was GTA for $20.98. Everything else is still a drop or two behind. They have a baseball and hockey game for PS3 now, a new baseball game for DS and dropped Ghostbusters :360: to either $41.98 or $45.98, so I will watch for that to drop lower. I had planne to get it on Wii, but if the 360 drops far enough I will probably get it on there.
