This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

one store has everything 30% (or so the sign said). no drops at all anywhere, but new titles on clearance that were of some interest. for the 360 i saw fable for $20 and GTA for $20.
 
In Richmond, at the Short Pump Target, I found:

:360: The Bigs 2 $9.98
:360: Fable 2 $14.98

I believe I grabbed the last one of both, but I wanted to put this out there since other Targets may have them and they were both an amazing deal, especially considering Gamestop is running the trade in 2 games and get one of the big releases this year (Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, etc.) for $19.99 and The Bigs 2 is on that list.
 
I've been to 4 different targets this past week and can't seem to come up with any half-way decent deals like the ones you guys find..everything is at least msrp.. :whistle2:(
 
Anyone notice anything good on clearance for 360 at the Shorewood, IL location on 59 or the Joliet, IL location off 30? I've never had any luck with Target clearances (everything is always $20 or more), but I'm itching to pick up Mass Effect and SF IV for cheap.

nice to see someone else from richmond. I moved from there a few years ago. when I vist, I go by the Target on Forest Hill Avenue. Seem to always have a quality clearance slection. my nephew said they had several copies of fable 2 for the price you listed a week or so ago.

I wish I knew about that last night. My local target had 11 copies of Tiger Woods 10 Wii for $15 each, bundled with the MotionPlus. I should've grabbed 3 on the spot for $30 under B2G1 just to get the 3 MotionPlus. But am not that big into the Wii, and none of the MotionPlus games really grab me.

Checked Amazon trade-in on Tiger Woods last night, it was $25, so figured I'd go back today, do B2G1, trade in two, keep 1 to try it out, and pay for most of Modern Warfare 2 via pre-order, but someone had taken all 11, the shelf was bare.

the last couple of weeks, they were putting all of their DVDs video games on clearance..... Terminator, G.I Joe, Ice Age.... not good stuff for me
 
if you find stuff cheap that doesn;t suit your needs, you could always use the $10 off 2 video games coupons and flip to gamestop/game crazy or just sell them and make some money.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't get out that way much unless I'm visiting my wife at work. Might have to hit it up sometime to see what clearance stuff they have.

Damn, forgot to look for those tonight, since they still keep those in the case. Would have been a nice find.

I recently started working at a target near San Jose, CA. If you live in my area and want updates on game clearance items (I'm the guy who actually organizes that rack - I don't do the price changes, but I work almost every day and I see them), PM me.

Two things; Different targets vary on their clearance tiers. There are, generally speaking, three tiers of discount %'s - the OP got that right. However, my target is a high volume target and as such items don't actually reach the excessively high (75%+) percentages off. This is just because our tiers reduce by lower percentages. It sucks, but it also means our clearance items last a bit longer - meaning you'll have an opportunity to actually buy the game that is 65% off instead of 85% off instead of having it snatched up by somebody who doesn't even realize the deal they're getting.

Second thing; We've got more sgt johnson DLCs for ODST than I think we can get rid of before they expire. PM me if you want one (honest to god though, please have the game. I have to go through the process of bringing them home for you, and if you're gonna resell it or let it go to waste It'd be a shame.)

I will edit this post to include our best clearance stuff tomorrow; right now I know we've got Wolverine/Guitar Hero Metallica on sale. Oh, and Wolfenstein. That one kinda shocked me, since we only got it yesterday and today it's already on clearance for like 38$. Like I said, PM me for the details of where my store is. More info tomorrow.

I didn't find anything at my Target yesterday noteworthy, but I saw a lady at the check-out counter with a ton of Wii games so I passed her the $10 coupon I had printed out, and she was of course delighted to know about this additional savings.
 
Just hit mine up and that dandy $10 off 2 coupon worked on clearance titles.

Not much to speak of, but I did see a lone GTA IV regular for 20.98 which I had not seen before. Red Faction was 27.98. L4D GOTY 20.98, and a few other regulars that Ive seen mentioned recently in this thread. Only PS3 game was the latest Harry Potter game.

Also, I mentioned this in the coupon thread, but I imagine it applies here too: They had the regular Fallout (non-GOTY) in the glass cases clearance marked at 27.98 + they had the Broken Steel add-on pack for 9.98, so with the coupon I imagine (dont quote me) that you could work it out so that you get GOTY cheaper, but Im not positive on the price of the rest of the DLC on Marketplace, so it may end up being more. Something to look into. Obviously its YMMV depending on your Target's stock, but with some creativity, I imagine it could be done.

i think each DLC is $10 so it would def be more worth it to just buy the GOTY fyi

Can confirm though that clearance games (at least in my area) do NOT stack with the B2G1 free Wii game promotion this week. The system does not give the discount for the free game, even with a clearance Wii game upwards of $15 (I tried). And I was being helped by a manager in the customer service section. It's YMMV at the very least, if you can get the free Wii game using clearance games and the coupon then you're lucky.


On a side note: went to Fresh & Easy afterwards and scored on some rib eye steaks...took home 2 family packs of rib eyes (4 huge steaks in each pack) on clearance from $25 a pack to only $9.xx a pack...double score! And no, the meat was not brown yet! Definitely spent a lot yesterday but grateful for all the blessings, especially after my cut in pay.

got The Bigs $9.xx and GI Joe 360 for $12.xx minus the $10 was sweet.. I also got Wolverine PSP for $9.xx and Indiana Jones PSP $9.xx, after the coupon both for 10.
 
Saw two copies of UP for the PS3 for $9.98. Picked them both up and used the $10 coupon bringing the total to about $10.50.

Also, I went to 2 different Targets yesterday after doing a search online for a few XBox ASINs and yes, the games were there.. but unfortunately they were not on clearance or at a marked down price.. That was a bummer, but i'll have to check out a few more locations to see if they have some of them on clearance... noteabley Tomb Raider Underworld and the Fallout DLC had caught my eye, but they were both selling for retail, as well as were several other titles.. Thanks for all the forum updates, though-- this site is saving my wallet!

My target still did not lower NHL 09, but also added the newest Harry Potter for 35, and also had NHL 2K10 already at 35. Dirt 2 was also 40. All on PS3

Same thing happened here. One day, there were 4 copies of the Tiger Woods/w Motion+ bundle, the next there was 1. Decided to jump on the last copy before it was gone for good.
 
Wow, I received an incredible number of requests for the sgt johnson DLCs. 28 so far, and I'll bet more may be coming.

With that said, I only had three on hand, one of which I sent to the last to PM me before realizing that the PM inbox is ordered newest at top - I'm about to head to work so I'll pick up as many as I can for you guys, hopefully enough for all 27 + the rest of the people. =)

What's the return policy concerning clearance items? I bought GTAIV for $20.98 and there were a few left, so I was wondering if I don't open it and wait till Monday and they drop to 50%, will I be able to return my copy and buy a cheaper one?

That is the only reference made to clearance items. I know for a fact that friends of mine have been able to both return and return/rebuy clearance items.

You'll be able to return it (as long as it's sealed) and buy another copy. Also, if you find another copy at 75% off within 90 days, you can always return the 2nd copy with the first receipt.

That policy doesn't apply to regular clearance. It only applies to Holiday and Seasonal clearance. All regular clearance items can be returned (with a receipt) for a full refund within 90 days.
 
The Target I was just at had an assload - literally stacks upon stacks - of Rock Band 2s out for clearance at $30, a couple Wolverines, a couple Endwars, quite a few Guitar Hero Metallicas for $35 - all for 360

They also had a bunch of PSP games for $10.

Nothing much for Wii or PS3.

I found this crazy because this Target NEVER has shit for video games clearances as its in an upscale area so parents / people are willing to pay full price most of the time. This is the most I've ever seen at any Target really, mostly due to the ridiculous number of Rock Band 2s.

I think a lot of kids will be getting Rock Band 2 for Christmas at this rate.
 
Yeah, which is why I assume these will sit there until clearanced below $20, which should take about until Black Friday, and then bam, Rock Band 2 for Christmas for tons of people.
