This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Too lazy to search but the Target in Houston Tx off Westheimer and Fondren area had Left For Dead GOTY for 20.98. Bought that and Dead Space 360 and used my 10.00 coupon and flipped DS to a friend for 20.

Just went to my local Target tonight cause I had a $10 gift card I got for doing online surveys and picked up Red Faction Guerrilla $30 and Chronicles of Riddick Dark Athena $15, both for 360. Used the coupon and gift card and got both for $25. Not bad at all.

Also funny thing about Riddick is it came up out of system but they gave it to me for the last price it sold at which was $15.

Gahhh. The stacks of 360 games keeps growing at my Target, but it looks like someone grabbed my Boom Blox even though it was still $21. That's like literally the only game that's moved. I was hoping it would go down one more drop because there was absolutely nothing else worth using with the $10 off coupon. Guess I'll be searching for it used in the future, unless it magically comes back (it disappeared then came back one time before).

My local Target Lafayette, In had Call of Juarez Bound in Blood PS3 @ 27.98 and Dirt-2 PS3 @ 41.98 I picked up both using the $10 off coupon for about the cost of a new release.

The sudden increase of 360 clearance games at my Target is actually a welcome site, since for the longest time the clearance section was overflowing with Wii shovelware which finally seems to be shrinking.

I was excited to see a huge new stack of 360 games on the clearance shelf at Target when I stopped in today, until I actually got closer and saw that it was almost all copies of WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008. I'd almost rather have the Wii shovelware.

Seriously, I don't remember seeing those on the shelves . . . well, ever. Where did they all come from all of the sudden?

Except all these 360 games are like $40 and the Targets in my area are all highly trafficked, so these will never drop and its actually amazing they're out there for $40 in the first place. And there's no reason to drop the prices because I'm sure they'll be cleaned out on Black Friday.

Last year, I though that Target's clearance section would be cleaned out on BF but that wasn't the case. The clearance endcaps in my area held up pretty good but I think this year you may be right. The huge amount of 360 games now on clearance (mostly WWE and Mass Effect) will draw more attention to the clearance section this year. So unless Ghostbusters, Red Faction: Guerilla, Wolverine and GH: Metallica drop in the next 2 weeks, I might be missing out. I haven't even been able to use the coupons yet. |

OK got a question on a situation im not familiar with at target.

While i was checking clearance endcap and looking at some Ipod speakers, i noticed at back of the shelf unit hanging stuck inbetween the shelf itself was a copy of Dirt2... Dirt 2 at me target was cleaned out quick at $41 last week, first week it was marked down..... so it wouldnt have dropped yet..... if they cant find any units to scan will it still drop? I checked the ASIN with a worker and she said they had 7 units supposedly.... but they dont have 7 (prolly 6 of those were stolen) ...so will it still cycle down the clearance price or just go OOS if they cant find em to scan?

I've always found items to be marked down, even when they don't have them in stock anymore. This is at about 10 different Targets I've visited. Some have reported otherwise though, so I think it may depend upon the pricing team somewhat.

It really seems to depend on the store. Sometimes it'll still drop, sometimes they'll decide they really don't have it and it goes OOS. You kind of have to learn what your store does.

Found a stash someone was hiding in the stereo section and I have to say if I wasnt looking at the speaker box I would never have seen this hiding spot. Apparently the person stacked the games against the wall on top of each other so it will look like it was part of the display. Not sure why someone would go far for what they hid tho (Section 9, Wolverine, Bioshock and Fable 2 all 360). I took them out and put them out for everyone too see incase someone was looking to buy any of them.

Apparently, one of my Targets does markdowns on Friday or Saturday. I went to a couple Targets looking for X-Men Origins: Wolverine (360) on Thursday and all scanned at $29.98, however I went back today for an errand and to my surprise it had dropped to $14.98! I think I'm the first to report it at this price point. I feel so blessed!

Yes it should drop. Just keep monitoring the DPCI on one of the price checkers.

All the pricing team does is to update the red stickers on what the system tells them to. So no they don't change the prices, it's the system who does.

Most of mine seem to do their drops on Fridays with the exception of one or two that do it randomly on Monday/Tuesday. I hope all of the Wolverines aren't gone by the time I get out and about tomorrow.

Wolverine, Wolfenstein, and Section 8 for 360 were all still at 41.xx. Meatballs for 360 and Broken Steel/Point Lookout for 360 were 13.xx.

RF Guerilla 360 was still behind glass, but on clearance for 27.xx.

From what I've noticed $15 is a great deal on ANY game because I hardly ever see any at Target for that price. Joking aside, yes it was good. Kind of like a poor man's God of War. I liked it so much, I trophied and 1000'd it.

Wolverine is a decent game, mainly due to the fact that it was already being made and then was altered to become a movie tie-in, rather than a game made specifically to be a movie tie-in that gets thrown together and sent out on a very short turnaround.
