This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

When I didn't know what happened, I asked a guy to scan it at the register (after it failed at the self-check scanner) and he said, "uhhh, I'll be right back" Returns 5 minutes later and says, "Sir, I cannot sell this to you per my manager." I said, "..but what if I paid the last lowest clearance price?" He said, "Nope." My guess is even if you tried to take it to a cashier up front, they still wouldn't sell it to you there, not b/c the person doesn't want to, but perhaps the system won't let them.

Either the above happens or once in awhile you get the cool customer service,etc that says sell it for $4.98

I've asked the people that carry around those price guns, PDT's? I think that system is more up to date than the price checker so I they're able to pull up the latest clearance price.

You have to be carefull, Target don't give you a return without the disc. Every time that you see something wrong with the game, like little bit open, broken or something like that, just leave it....

The only good promotion for this week is that Wolverine and Metallica for Xbox 360 went down to $14.98... Also, I pick up NHL 2k10 for $12.48 and Cabela's Outdo.... $9.98. Want to see Section 8 and Faction Guerrilla, but no luck.....

Just for the Xbox 360 in all the country.... I guess that in some Target's you can see copies for the Ps3 on clearance also... but limited.....

Warning: just ramblings:
Of course Metallica had to go down to $15 at one of my Targets (it scanned $30 earlier that same day) after I bought it for $20-$5 coupon=$15 at BestBuy. At least at BestBuy, I was able to get both Metallica and Smash Hits for $15 each with just one GH5 coupon. It was a manager override. If I was able to do $15-$5 coupon=$10 at Target earlier, then I would not have been tempted by the BestBuy offers and waited on Smash Hits to go below the $20 mark.

The next thing that is going to happen is that Ghostbusters will hit $15 after I just bought it for $20 on Amazon. I figured that I was going to miss the copies at Target because I wanted to take a break from going to stores for awhile.

OT - thanks to whoever pointed out that the TomTom 340 would be marked down again. Went and picked one up for $60 and returned the previous clearance one for $120.

For anyone in the Kansas City area, there's gotta be like 20+ of the TomTom 340 (without the "S" - no street name speaking) at the 151st location in Olathe for $60.

I think I also saw Call of Juarez for under $20 and a couple other alright deals, but I'm still dealing with coupon loss so I couldn't bring myself to buy anything.

Indulge me in a ramble:

So I stopped by a Target by my house last Wednesday, the "final" day of the coupon. I came across a lone copy of Wolverine for $14.98 and several copies of Endwar for $7.48. I enjoyed the Wolverine demo and had both games in my hand, ready to purchase.

But something came over me: I had a moment of "Do I really need to get more games and add to my backlog even further?" Hell, I still had a sealed copy of Endwar for the PS3 at home I got just because I wanted the Bluetooth headset. I'd just be buying another copy to get the price of Wolverine down anyway.

So I put both games down and left. I was initially proud of myself for exhibiting some self control. Maybe I should spend more time playing games than buying them.

But as the holiday weekend progressed, I found myself obsessing about the games I didn't buy. Why wouldn't I buy them?! I love Wolverine! I could have given Endwar away as a Christmas gift to my brother! DEAR GOD WHAT WAS I THINKING?!!

So Monday came and I found myself at a Target by my work on my lunch hour, staring at a lone copy of Wolverine for $14.98 and a few copies of Endwar for $7.48. I let out a sigh and proceeded to the checkout with Wolverine in hand.

Anyway, I just picked up dirt 2 for the xbox 360. It was marked and rang up as $24.98. They had mini ninjas ( xbox 360 ) for $24.98 as well. I didn't get that one since I already own it.

The platinum hits ( 360 version ) of Assassin's Creed was $13.98.
