This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

That is different. The employee slacked off and you got the deal, the other guy altered the coupon. That is a huge difference from what you did, which I agree is fine.

I picked up Ghostbusters (360) for $14.98 today. I didn't have a coupon to try and even if I did there wasn't much else 360 wise that I wanted. I think there was Assassins Creed, Red Faction, Far cry 2 and Section 8 left but none of those really interest me. I may pick up NHL 2K10 if it drops again. There is one copy left of RE5 for PS3 that I am waiting to drop.

Is it possible to get a price match or do a return/re-buy on clearance games that have dropped lower since you bought it? Anyone ever try that?

No price adjustment, you can try a return and re-buy, but since you are returning the game, they do not have to put it out on the sales floor immediately or offer you the opportunity to re-purchase it immediately.

The only thing I've done like that is bought it where it was lower, and then returned it with the old receipt at the store I originally bought it at.

I only did it that way because it was a PC game and I had already opened the older copy.

I've been looking for Mini Ninjas, in the TARGET they reopen in my area all copies (about 10) vanished when the game hit the $39 dlls value, and since I don't hide stuff all of them were gone before Black Friday.

Score some stuffers for my nephews, NHL 09 for $9 and the BIGS 2 for $7 all for the PS3.

I price checked The Orange Box for XBOX 360 and it was still the original price of $19.99 and the op has it on clearance for $9.98 so what gives? Also, it's the original launch one not a platinum hits or anything like that.

Bought Assassins Creed for Xbox 360 at $9.99. Used the coupon with Quantum of Solace $15.xx so I pretty much got Assassins Creed free.

Clearance prices are YMMV, OP lists lowest reported prices on each game.

Picked up Wolfenstein and Battlefield Bad Company(both 360) for $21.26 after coupon and tax. The lady at the register didn't even look at it when she scanned it.(I cut one out of the holiday coupon book)

I may return Bad Company depending on what I read about it tonight, but I'm keeping Wolfenstein fo sho!

It's a good game... but it pales in comparison when compared to MW2. To me it was somewhat repetitive and the level design is okay at best. Then again I hate open-world first person shooters (far cry 2, bad company, etc.)

If I were you I would download the demo off Xbox marketplace and play it. The demo pretty much captures the whole essence of the game in a 15-20 minute mission.

But to answer your original question, I would say no. If you can find it for like $5 it would be worth it then. I paid $13 so I wasn't too upset when it didn't stack up to any of the Call of Duty Games.

The thing that ruined Bad Company for me was the AI, or lack thereof. You could run behind a wall, building, etc, being completely out of view and the computer would still track you, no matter which side of the obstruction you came out of. So the chance of picking off someone from behind the wall was pretty much impossible, without taking damage.

I just downloaded the demo on my 360 and played a bit of single player. I hated how wide open it was. I'm not a big fan of sandbox shooters, which is why I didn't like BF2 on PC.

Oh well, I'll just return it tomorrow and end up with a $11 copy of Wolfenstein.

EDIT: I may just trade it in to GS since I have a couple other games and can get the extra $20 that way and just make up the difference with that.

I went back to one of my local targets in colorado springs and not a whole lot really. Someone definitely wiped out the store, the selection was seriously lacking. The only real notable prices was Mini Ninjas on ps3 for 30 and NHL 2k10 for 360 dropped to 21. Besides that nothing, oh and I scanned the Assassin's Creed and other games that used to be on the end caps, both scanners and a sales rep pda and they're retail price again.

I got Xmen Wolverine Origins for PS3 in Tulsa on Yale for $14.98, kept it for weeks then eventually sold it . Saw Red Faction for $19.98. Have come to the conclusion anymore that I seem to never get around to these cheap 'okay' games. Sticking only to AAA titles from now on.

I envy you guys who actually have play time. Wait til you're 50 yrs old and you'll see what I mean. Play now. Time is short.

Went to Beaverton OR store. Got Guitar Hero Metallica for $14.98, also saw many copies of Ghostbusters for $29.98. Not too much other clearance (but i did mostly pay attention to xbox games)
Also used the free "1600 points w/xbox hardware coupon" on the game and got me some free points (cashier didn't give it a second look).

Yeah and it shows on the sales slip that refund value for the game is $6 something, and the points were like $8 something. so somebody can't just return the game.

I liked Bad Company mainly for the voice acting. The banter between the team members is pretty fun.

Target coupon lives on for me. Picked up Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and Red Faction Guerilla for 21.xx. Here's hoping Dirt 2 and Ghostbusters drop down before Christmas.

what sucks is that it seems RB2 (game only) has dropped to 20 bucks almost everywhere outside of target

It's times like this that I love working for Target. We had a 37" Vizio LCD (VW37L) go on clearance this week for $478. We only had the display model left, and the big bonus to Team Members is we get 50% off of display models.

So, needless to say I just picked up a secondary LCD for $260 (that includes 3yr extended warranty). I figured out the math and I actually received 50% off the TV and then an additional 10% off the warranty and the new price of the TV, bringing it to $259.04 after tax.

This makes up for someone coming in while I was on break and snatching up every copy of Wolverine and GH Metallica.

Mine didn't even do that... I bought a Play and Charge kit for $20, the cashier scanned the coupon. It said something about "No valid product on this order." The cashier looked at the coupon, looked at the play and charge kit and rang in a $19.99 coupon. It shows up on my receipt as a $19.99 Target coupon... No prorating of the price at all...

Oh really? I had no idea Target team members get 50% off display models. I'll have to keep watch over that.

I actually like everything about Bad company. Though the AI plays weird at times, i still enjoy the actual gameplay. It's intense IMO. Maybe it' becausee i play it on my 52' tv with surround sound. to each their own, i guess.
