This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

My best finds have usually been at the Legends Target or the Olathe Target near the Great Mall. They don't seem as heavily shopped as those in OP or Shawnee/Mission.

The good ones are generally the two on 151st (south op / olathe). They seem to have the most obscure placement of the endcap combined with the least foot traffic (though that makes it harder to pull any shenanigans like expired coupon using or the 1600 point fiasco). The olathe 151st had several Ghostbusters for 14.98 two days ago along with a couple other niceties.

Stumbled across this by accident today at the 11290 West Broad Street store in Richmond VA. Their clearance shelves were practically empty (couldn't have been more than about 2 or 3 games for each format), so it's a miracle FFTA2 was still sitting there. I may have picked up the last copy, unless they have more hiding elsewhere in the store.

You can return the games, but they aren't going to let you re-buy them on the spot. You would have to go back the next day when they put the same games back out on the shelves to try to re-buy them, unless you can just go into the store after you return them and buy different games.

Here was my experience. Someone had put the fallout 3 expansion in the fallout 3 slot in the case. I asked for it in Electronics and gave the dude the coupon. He said it was for hardware only so I said fine. I grabbed another points card and took them to the service desk. I then said I had forgotten about the coupon when I bought the game.

She rung it up and it went through fine. I even got a few cents back for some reason?

There's two different coupons people are talking about.

One set are expired but still scan fine at registers. They are $10 off two games, depending on the coupon it's either two PS3/PSP games, 2 360 games or 2 Wii/DS games.

The other coupon is the one you're thinking about with the free 1600 point cards.

So, in summation, Target is really sloppy with how it handles coupons.

Yes it does. I personally think Mirror's Edge is the best $20 title one can snag on the PS3 (others may disagree.. Dead Space, BioShock, Burnout Paradise, etc).. I played the demo at least a dozen times. Haha.

That is just overly taking advantage of a flaw in their POS system. It's people like this (not you, I hope) that ruin these deals for the rest of us. Target has been good to us throughout the years.

Just picked up the following from the Warner Robins, Georgia location:
Demigod (PC) - $7.48
Fallout 3 Game Add-On Pack (360) - $4.98
NHL2K10 (360) - $12.48

They had several copies of Demigod and NHL2K10. Only one more copy of the Fallout 3 Game Add-On Pack. They also had a copy of Section 8 (PC) and RE5 (PC)... both were $12.48 if I remember correctly.

I fully agree. It's one of my favorite games from this generation of consoles. *crosses fingers for EA to make a sequel*

I am sure someone has mentioned this before, and I HATE to do it because no one seems to know this at my local Targets. BUT, Target typically pulls all their clearance titles from the glass lock cases and moves them to an endcap, sometimes correctly priced, sometimes not. But since they are on an endcap, just find one of those handy price scanners and check it yourself.

Where to look? Hmm, do you know what an endcap looks like? Try the end of ALL the electronics isles, then the toy/game isles, and finally the media (PC/DVD) isles. Chances are you are looking in the WRONG place (i.e. inside the glass cases w/new releases).

Hit the Chicago area up today. Got Godfather 2 and Bad Company 360's for 14.98 each plus $40 in point cards for free. Cashier didn't even read 'em, just scanned the coupons. The Wolfenstein I've been watching that was STILL 41.98 last Friday was now gone. Guess I'll grab that Sunday at BB for 39.99 minus $20 with the RZ gamers coupon. I'd be interested in Iron Man and Wolverine 360 but those seem long gone. Cheapest I ever saw Wolverine around here was 29.98 and a friend told me Iron Man got clearenced out almost a year ago. I know it's lousy but I'm kind of an Iron Man junkie. Did notice Bionic Commando pop up for 29.98 but not sweet enough yet.

Yeah. I seriously hope people don't exploit this either. This will get the coupon killed incredibly fast. If you're going to use the coupon, buy some games that are on clearance with it. Or even some of the XBOX 360 selections that are relatively cheap (Sega Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and The Orange Box come to mind). This at least will do Target a favor by moving unwanted inventory and keep the coupon under the radar. Worst comes to worst, you can always flip these games to Amazon, GameStop, or TRU.
