This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

I went to target in Warwick, RI yesterday and the selection was pretty damn sparse.

They had Mirror's Edge (PS3) for like ten bucks which I bought.

They also had two copies of Saints Row 2 for 15ish.

which one? the one on rt 2 generally has a good selection. haven't been in close to a month though.

last night I saw the Guitar Hero DS 2-Pack for $4X.XX..gonna wait until it drops some more, they had tons of copies, along w/ a Wario game on DS

Places actually still have Devil May Cry 4? I know someone that's looking to find that but no Target around here ever has any good clearance anymore.
No go for me on the point cards. When scanned with games it says "Item not found" and they wouldn't override it. Oh well.
Did you do it only with 360 games? I did the MS point coupon twice, both times, the cashier scanned the 360 game first, then the MS point card, and then the coupon last. Worked for me both times.

I picked up :360: Mini-Ninjas ($12.48) as well as Disney Cars Race-O-Rama ($19.98 - DPCI 207 22 0401) and used the expired $10 off coupon with no problem with them. I think this will be my last hurrah of the year for Target clearance games I picked up. What a year! Now all I need is some free time to play all of them.

Yep that is exactly what I did, not sure why I'm getting shut out. I could see the POS screen though and and said "Item not Present" and it would not take the $19.99 for the point card off.

I went to the one on Bald Hill Road across from Staples. I didn't know there was another one in Warwick...

Both of my Targets failed me. The one I usually don't visit had Red Faction 360 ring up $40, and I didn't bother checking Resistance 2. Nothing on their clearance shelf of any interest and none of the games were in the older retail section. Second one that I like more was even worse. The older retail section was picked clean, and their cases had nothing on my list except for Call of Juarez, which an employee said he just got through putting a new sticker on for $30. Bionic Commando was on the clearance endcap, but was stickered at $30. Damn Christmas shoppers. I didn't get a chance to use my coupons that aren't supposed to work but they do :(

I found Mirror's Edge for $9.98 and The Conduit for $14.xx. Almost gave in to The Conduit, but I really don't touch my Wii any more.
Has anyone seen :360: Assassin's Creed at $10 or less at their Targets yet? Mine has it still at around $14.
Yup, picked up a copy for $7.48. My Target has well over 20+ copies left.

Mine has like 30+ of them for $9.98. lol

So I MAY be getting a PS3 for Christmas ;) Should I snag a Mirrors Edge for ps3 at $9.98?? I plan to play ONLY PS3 exlusives (this will mostly be used as a blu-ray player) and my price-point will be $15 or less. ;)

Mirror's Edge was a great game and worth much more than $10, but its not an exclusive.
I picked up Kung Fu Panda (360) for $7.48 and Mirror's Edge (PS3) for $9.98 yesterday.

I just decided to crack open Mirror's Edge and give it a go, so I tore the wrapper off and to my surprise, the game disc isn't even in the case! I called and talked to a manager and they told me to come in, but I just know that I'm going to have to put up one heck of a fight to make this end with good news for me. Is that safe to believe?

Ugh.
Dang, this still happens? :nottalking::bomb: I know how to check for PS3 discs, but how to check for 360 discs. I grabbed a copy of Mini Ninja today, shake the case a little, but did not hear anything. The seal seems to be intact though and it was "freed" from the plastic anti theft case.

Also, what are some signs to look to make sure it has not been opened or missing the disc? Target is my source of games for the past year.

Maybe the checking for disc should be part of FAQ in the OP?

All 360 games have a bar code over the case. I usually run my finger along the edge just to doublecheck that seal. Depending on the style of case, the only rattle you'll ever hear is the manual because the disc is solidly secured. That's just in my experience.

The other option is if you plan on opening it anyway and you have doubts, pay for it and then ask the employee to watch you open it. Then there's proof if you didn't get a disc.

Sometimes, though, it's not theft but just a factory screwup. I bought the Star Wars trilogy on VHS years ago and instead of Empire Strikes Back, I got a tape with two episodes of the Shogun miniseries. That was a tough return to explain.

Hmm, I may still pick it up though as it is a good price and I don't have it on the 360.

Mirror's Edge is "better" on the PS3 in my opinion as you utilize the six-axis to do rolling landings and shit like that.

I don't really understand this way of thinking . . . Why would you decide in advance to only play exclusives? Personally, I have both systems, and when a game is multi-platform, I buy it for the one that the particular game is better on.

For example, while the basic gameplay, graphics, etc, are nearly identical, Mirror's Edge for the PS3 has the advantage of using PS3's motion controls. If that appeals to you (personally, I find it makes me feel a little more "involved" in the game), then the PS3 version has a distinct advantage. If it doesn't appeal to you, then there's no big difference one way or the other (it can be turned off if you find you don't like it).

I can see leaning toward the XBox 360 version if there are no differences between the versions (I do myself, simply because more of my friends have 360s, and I find the controller slightly more comfortable to hold), but if you own both systems it is definitely worth doing some research to find out whether there are any differences in a particular game before buying.
Is it really that hard to go back and read the last few pages of the thread?
The last few pages of the thread do not tell you where to get the coupon.

I was hoping to find Section 8 for $14.98 somewhere in the Chicagoland area, but according to the site it doesn't seem to be at any Target in IL at all anymore. :(

Just as a heads up: I saw Fable 2 (Standard Edition) for $20.00. Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but keep that in mind next time.

I think once a game hits the clearance rack, it becomes an "available online, but is not available in stores" item despite it being in some stores. So you may actually have to go to each Target and look through the clearance section to see if they have any left in stock.

More importantly as a CAG, you get to pick up multi-system games on the platform it's cheaper for (e.g. when GC sold Prototype new for $20 a while back, it was only on the 360).

What you say makes sense. Most likely it will come down to the cheapest game on whichever platform (360 or ps3) and then exclusives. Like I said, this will MOSTLY be used for Blu-Ray, the gaming part is just a bonus. Especially since this will be going in our Main Theatre/Living room, so graphic games will not be played very often (my 360 is in my bedroom).

Meh.. i still prefer the xbox controller.

Found an Xmen Origin: Wolverine for X360 for 7.48 in Camarillo, CA. Used the 1600 points card coupon and gazelle will give $17.00 paypal for the game. =)

I search using the ASIN code and that has always been pretty accurate in my experience.

If you can wait for the platinum edition it includes all the DLC with an MSRP of $29.99. It releases 1/5/10...so definitely worth the wait.

Haha I forgot all about searching for it that way. But yea that does work pretty well for the most part.

I found Tiger Woods 10 (PSP) on clearance for $9.98. There's an offer inside for a magazine subscription, which you can decline and get a $10 rebate instead. So hopefully it'll be free if the rebate comes through.
I finally got something at 90% off.

Tomb Raider Underworld for $2.48.
Damn, never even seen anything at that price point. Congrats.
does anybody know any target stores that has clearance games in DFW?
Uhhh.... all of them?

Has anyone played Madagascar Karts? I saw a few copies for $14.98 and almost picked one up in hopes that they might be alright (I'd love a good kart game and am quite hopeful for the upcoming SEGA titla).
does anybody know any target stores that has clearance games in DFW?
I hit up the one in South Arlington off of Arbook, the one in GP off 360, and the other in GP off carrier and 20. All of them have clearance Endcaps with the one on Arbrook having the best selection right now. They had GH Drums kits for the PS3 at 24.98, a bunch of psp games really cheap among other things.

I think I still have a Devil May Cry 4 (sealed) if anyone wanted that. I think someone posted earlier about it in this thread.
