The problem was what was supposed to happen about 2 minutes from that ending, but since they went in filler arc the pacing of it got shot to hell. Anybody watching the show know if they are out of filler yet?
i'm pretty sure the main story started up last week. the filler is not worth it right? i stopped right after 167 too

watching ichigo mashimaro and it's fairly amusing, kind of like lucky star.

I got through two eps of that filler arc before just quitting out of disgust, just having Ichigo and company magically reappear in the real world completely screws up what was going on.
I just watched it, half the ep was recap
yeah it was like 6 minutes of new stuff, and they're starting up with the pink haired guy again :nottalking:

I don't want to see pink hair eye glasses guy anymore. I was hoping he got dressed and fell asleep so I didn't have to see him for a couple of more episodes.
Is the The Girl Who Leapt Through time any good ?
It's ok...But a lot of people will you it's zOMGsuprarAWESUMS, so you probably can't go wrong with giving it a shot.

Anyone know anything about the show "Darker than Black"? I got a package from right stuff today and it came with a pin , picture and "classified info" that gives some promo information.

Its a pretty good sci-fi action show. The concept is kind of hard to explain off the top of your head, especially since I finished it a few months ago, but it is worth checking out.

okay i need suggestions.

my wife's favorite shows are one piece, naruto, kiba, and full metal alchemist. i like all these shows as well but i need something like these to watch. preferably something that already has like 50+ eps out.

I'm considering that HxH might be like the above, but the first 5-10 eps I watched before were kinda sucky. Suggetsions?

you know they came out with a lucky star ova a while back right? i havent watched it yet ut its out there.btw thanks everyone for letting me knw the filler isnt worth watching. that series is up there with naruto when it comes to lame annoying filler shit.

dont overlook the shorter series (12 to 26 episodes) there are alot fo great ones worth seeing. full metal alchemist is i think 50 plus episodes dective conan ive heard good things aout but will never watch because its like 500 pluss episodes deep and going strong. hana yori dango has 50 so episodes. a good short series though is antique bakery. oh yeah intital d is a good sized series as well and awesome.

The only thing I can think of that is lengthy and somewhat close to those shows (in that getting stronger and improving fighting ability is a part of the show) is Fighting Spirit. I've only watched the first ten episodes so far, but it is a really cool show. The protagonist, Ippo, is a likeable guy and you really find yourself rooting for him. I never cared for boxing, but this show makes it awesome.

Hunter x Hunter is better in many ways than those shows you listed. But you have to watch it with the right mindset. Gon, as the main character, isn't necessarily the focus of the episodes. Rather, he is like a crucible for the development of others.

Also, you're not going to get any bullshit filler like the others have. When they do differ from the manga, it actually makes sense and serves to further the story. Seriously, continue along with it.

Well she's all caught up on bleach, so we're covered there.

Hajime no Ippo might be an idea as she already watches MMA and such with me (yes my wife is epic).

I'll probably give HxH a spin since it is generally well-liked by everyone except me it seems.
You didn't say Bleach. Try Bleach, thats like all those.
I liked Bleach when it was called Dragonball Z.

+1 on Fighting Spirit, aka Hajime no Ippo. The fight scenes are exaggerated (i.e. punches breaking the sound barrierr) but that's its strong point. They are just beautiful fight sequences and enough humor is sprinkled throughout. The video games (at least the ps2 victorious boxers) are fun to boot.

I have no idea about Fighting Beauty Wulong. It was one of the last things I ever downloaded a few years back. I haven't downloaded anime since 2006. I buy what is available in North America now, but a few series like Cheeky Angel, Cinderella Boy, and Wulong (all of which I downloaded in entriety except Wulong) are probably never going to be licensed and sub groups move on to bigger and "better" things I suppose.

I posted this in the Borders thread, but yes, buy 2 get 1 free on manga (and other things; all stock) at Borders. That makes prices comparable to online prices (if not better when using the immortal 20-percent off and 25-percent off coupons).

So, what is good from the new season? I just caught up and finished my shows from last season. (Code Geass, Macross Frontier)

I know Gundam 00 2d season is out. Anything else good?

One Piece Enies Lobby arc
Luffy just went super saiyajin, wtf. I don't understand why all long-running shonen have to be so similar... they start off light-hearted, amusing, lots of adventure and exploration, then devolve into boring mindless predictable action. *sigh*

Yea pretty much the same feeling here. It doesn't seem to get any better after the whole cp9 thing either. I've watched just a bit past that arc to where they meet the skeleton, before which was just more fighting. I'm hoping they continue on to some more random islands. I like it when they just spend one or two episodes on a complete plot/adventure and then move on to the next, with an overeaching something to tie them together, but screw the drawn out 10 episodes of fighting stuff.

Much

I just watched Sword of the Stranger which was a pretty good action movie. Not much in the way of plot or characters but it had very nicely animated action scenes.

Just watched the last episode of Gundam 00 2nd season...

It was a pretty bad episode, looked like their production values took a dip in some of the scenes. I really hope this doesn't turn out like Code Geass R2. Some of the storyline already sounds like it was made on the spot.

What sounded like it was made up on the spot? So far the season is like a reversal of season one, people who were weak are strong, people who were strong are weak.

That whole Marie side story definitely sounded like they threw it in last minute since last season.

....

Shirin's association with Cataran (sp?)

...

Mr. Bushido?

I don't know, I'm still having bitter feelings for the ending preview from first season, from which most of these (IMO horrible) plot advancements spawned from. Though I am grateful that Saji cut off his mullet... but he's still useless...
Read the manga then. The anime is always going to have the problem you describe.
No.. they're the same. The anime drags everything out more (for very obvious reasons) but both the manga and anime, like the vast vast majority of long-running shonen, have degenerated from adventure to action [and the action is (and has always been) boring as hell]. If anything the anime is better about it because the filler is very rarely action-based. The filler is usually flashbacks or some light-hearted side story.

Filler is good stuff. Seems silly to me when people say they stop watching something due to the filler. Often times, its the filler that gets a show back on track to its original roots with "pointless" stuff, or making easy stuff seem hard again.

I can't say the Marie sidestory bothers me, there is a lot about Allelujah we just don't know about and there have been numerous references to something big going down causing him to kill a lot of people to get out of there as a child. I'm guessing Marie ties into some of this.

Shirin was always smarter and more realistic then that damn princess, if anyone was going to see the country was doomed and take a different action it would be her. With four years trying to save a lost cause her joining some terrorist group isn't that far fetched.

Mr Bushido...... Yeah he lost his damn mind, the only thing I can see wrong with his face is something about his right eye, the skin is almost black . I'm hoping part of his skull is missing or something which validates that ridiculous get up.

Hell don't get me wrong I don't like a lot of these changes but so far there is nothing completely out of the blue if you factor in the time skip and keep in mind we know next to nothing about a lot of the characters to begin with. I'm expecting a lot of episodes dealing with Tieria by the end

watching CG R2.. just finished ep 16 and the plot points seem a lot looser than season one, where everything "flowed" well

and why does Cornelia look completely different? :whistle2:s didn't recognize her at all

Are there any hard encodes of CG R2? I want to watch it but I never really watch anime on my comp anymore and if the subs aren't encoded into the video I can never get them to play on my TV.

Ugh. Linebarrels of Iron's protagonist is a unlikable loser douchebag. It's rare for me to hate a character after one episode. -_- Hayase needs to die
(again and repeatedly thereafter)
. The show also seems to have thrown every hackneyed anime cliche into a blender and set to puree:

-loser high school kid stumbling into a giant robot
-childhood friend love interest
-bullies pick on a kid to show how truly pathetic he is

and so on and so forth. The worst part is Hayase seems to have been deliberately constructed specifically to be a nexus of douchebaggery. They want us (the audience) to hate him so much that we love to hate him similar to Light from Death Note or Lelouch from Code Geass. But I think the plan might backfire since I only hate Hayase right now. The difference between Hayase and Light/LeLouch is that the latter two actually have charisma, charm, & wit. Hayase has none. Whatsoever. Just in the first episode alone, you can see that rather than the "hero-of-justice" he claims to be, he's nothing more than a sick little megalomaniac w/ delusions of grandeur who luckily stumbled onto power rather than being 'destined by fate' to gain it. It's like handing a baby a gun and expecting it to handle it safely w/o supervision #-olike this idiot:

Hopefully Hayase redeems himself within 5 episodes or I'm dropping it (but I highly doubt it).

honestly the eneies lobby/water 7 arc is the best part of one piece in a super-long time for me.

davy back fight-type stuff makes me puke after an ep or two.

I'm getting out of the loop, Hellsing manga finally wrapped the hell up

What a weird ending, i'm just glad Alucard came back

Just bought Air Gear and Blue Submarine No. 6 because they were at amazing prices. My wallet is hurting because I keep buying so much.
