Naruto 423 Manga spoilers

The great Kakashi brought down by a simple nail! Naruto is going to flip when he gets back, part 2 of the manga started off slow but damn its picking back up now

Does Desert Punk get any better? I still think it is about guns and boob grabbing. OH well, I'm looking forward to volume # 2.

Guns and boob grabbing isn't enough?

All kidding aside, I only have the first volume, but I thought it was really funny.
Just read Naruto 423... Does this mean the series will approach an ending soon?
Not in the slightest, a hell of a lot more people need to be killed off before that happens. This is more like one of those growing up moments, Naruto is losing his support system and having to come in his own as a ninja.
Does Desert Punk get any better? I still think it is about guns and boob grabbing. OH well, I'm looking forward to volume # 2.
I have the entire series, and yes, it does get better. I wasn't liking it too much around ep. 4 and 5, but it slowly turned around.

Been catching up a bit in Naruto Shippuuden and they did
Asuma's death
really well, especially with the choice of end theme. The new intro reminds me of the intro for the Chuunin exams, showing that more people will be in the mix, hopefully.

For some reason this one did nothing for me , I still prefer
Garaa's death more, having an introspective moment while simultaneously drifting away from himself combined with the music made for a really good scene. Asuma's seemed a bit over the top

I have taste, and no, it doesn't get any better.

I'm amazed you got past the first episode.

Regarding Naruto manga
Me thinks Kakashi just lost one of his eyes, most likely the sharingan. Though him dying would sure as hell make Naruto go either berserk or emo. Or maybe he caught the nail with his teeth and we get to see his generic anime face for the first time!

I think he is gone, that would be Naruto's last real teacher .That reminds me, he better no die without showing his face. I'm hoping for a huge disfiguring scar

Like time reader of the Anime thread, first time poster...

Currently I'm watching Nodame Paris, Shippuden, and Soul Eater. While watching the latest episode of Soul Eater, I really wondered if the subbers ever play odd jokes on us, or if the dialogue is really that strange sometimes. The subbing in question is in Ep. 30 of Soul Eater. As to not ruin anything for anyone who hasn't watched this episode, i'll throw up some spoiler tags.

One of the characters is doing battle this guy who has some kind of pole shooting weapon, and according to the Tadashi subs, this is one of the lines yells while using the weapon"

Part of me wonders if this is for real?
I forgot to mention that I finished watching my FMP Fumoffu DVDs last week. HILARIOUS show. Sousuke is my hero. :D
yeah fumoffu is pretty funny, Sousuke is perfectly clueless. the intro is good too.

Yeah, Fumoffu is amazing. It is one of, if not the, funniest animes I've ever seen. Just works so nicely with the series that I... aggh! Can't rave too much. Otherwise I'll want to watch it again, and I don't have time for it. ;_;

Tadashi is shit. Never watch them. I believe Aerosubs is up to date on this stuff. Their releases, while not perfect, are far superior to Tadashi's.

hes hot going to die. if he did then id agree that the series was coming to an end but its kakashi.
if anything he has something up his sleeve possibly going to use the makengekyo sharingan like he did with deidara or hes got someething new hes been whipping up. the man has a ton of techniques its easy to believe he hasnt shown us half yet.

I figured he would be back the way they paraded his lifeless body around and Naruto's constant need to get him back, so Chihiro sacrificing herself to bring him back was more impactful than Gaara's death. His death kind of lost some meaning the more you saw his body, just making it seem like being a permanent deal wasn't going to happen.

I'd say Asuma's death was the most impactful of Shippuuden so far for me because of things like the whole scene of Shikamaru running to Asuma after the fatal blow, but being pushed him away as Asuma loses consciousness was an interesting way to show that scene, then there's the whole scene where he's saying his last goodbyes to Ino, Chouji, and Shikamaru while still being able to joke a bit (Telling Ino to keep the other knuckleheads in line and telling Chouji to go on a diet), and then there's Shikamaru's need to tell Kurenai and his breakdown after the game of Shougi with his dad before deciding to go back with Ino and Choiji after the Akatsuki members for revenge. The flashbacks showing that Asuma was like another father figure for him and the others since they were probably the second closest of the three Genin teams, with maybe Hinata's team being the closest.

I'd also put Chouji's "death" during the Rescue Sasuke arc above that because they built him up as being an outcast amongst the kids until he met Shikamaru, became a Genin, and earned the respect and acceptance of his peers and taking the risk of sacrificing himself to fulfill his promise to beat the guy they first ran into.

That entire thing needs to be in spoilers
The problem with going well he has a 1000 jutsu he is going to pull one out of his ass is well, so did the third hokage, i'm sure Jiraya had more up his sleeve as well. I'm hoping he really bit it, I want to see Naruto do more then train which has been the theme for part two for way too long now.

With Garaa the build up and scene itself were very well done, I agree the constant dangling of the body pretty much spelled out he would come back somehow but I still like the build up and "death" even if it was cheapened with a resurrection.

I think my real problem with it was I never cared about Asuma, he was barely around for part 1 and in part 2 suddenly we learn some backstory about him just in time for him to be killed. The impact was completely lost on me, Ino and Chouji are barely around anymore themselves so it felt more like just Shikamaru grieving then the entire team. There was really nothing the anime crew could have done there, that was a fault in the original manga and hell still is, I can't remember the last time Ten-ten showed up. If handled correctly the next death coming up should be a real tear jerker, so this should all balance back out.
there is going to be a second full metal alchemist Anime :D.Maybe it will follow the Manga.

sweet. both the series and the movie left me hanging, glad to see it continue!

thats a good point but i hope it wont happen.

I just watched Blue Submarine No. 6. It has some nice action in it, and was definitely a nice change of pace from everything else out there. The only part that sucked was that they could have easily put the whole series on one disc, but split it up onto 2 dual sided dvds. I hate dual sided dvds...

Ha! The original release was one episode a dvd

i came in this thread just to see if anyone is talking bout the shippuuden manga, i sure as hell dont think kakashi is going to die, with all the experience and jutsus he has, he could be hokage, he will definitely do something with that mangekyou, i dont see kakashi going out so easily, and naruto needs to learn more than just bunshins and the rasengan

His one fatal flaw has always been his chakra which he ran through already, the mangekyou takes too much out of him along with chidori , I expect a last minute save now though but it is still up in the air. Fighting a guy that can't be attacked except in a split second window with no chakra and restrained up to the neck...... maybe Gai will save him. I didn't expect Chouji's pops to die in such an off panel manner.

Just a quick question for you experts:

How much is my Cowboy Bebop Perfect Sessions DVD set worth? I got it back when it came out for 149.99... but now there's a set out for 39.99 with all the episodes.

Just grabbed the second half of Heat Guy J, complete My-Hime, and complete Strawberry Eggs from Rightstuf.

I was interested in Best Student Council but they're OOS of most if not all of those. When Rightstuf has a sale like this, will they ever get more of the items for later sales? I'm definitely interested in that series.

Found Slayers on Hulu and I've never watched it before, so I'm going to try that out. The datedness is starting to burn a little, though. XP Damn, Funi. It's called remastering. >.

Does anyone know if Mobile Suit Gundam IGLOO is any good? I've never even heard of it before but it's on sale at Right Stuf for the next 3 days and was wondering if it was worth picking up.

im still hoping at some point they do some prequel stuff with the naruto universe. theres way too much story there and they only ever hint at it and never go any deeper. like what the kazekage was like, kakashis dad, the 4th hokage, the building of konoha. im still pissed they didnt animate kakashis story about him getting the sharingan.

Igloo rocked , showed the poor bastards who had to test all those crazy Zeon mobile armors during the one year war that would eventually be obliterated . It was really different from the norm since an engineering lieutenant was the main character instead of a solider. Just damn is it expensive to get, then that mess with Bandai visual and now RightStuf is one of the few places to carry it.

100 episode of filler and that side story never got animated, I never got that one at all. I don't think the series needs much of a prequel , flashbacks tell enough to sort of get the gist of things though I wouldn't mind a side story or two about the sannin back in the day before Orochimaru lost it.

Just watched the last episode of Detroit Metal City. I really loved how it was short and funny. Kind of sad there isn't much closure to the story. Guess I'll have to hunt out the manga.

I would love to see Kakashi die trying to protect fatass Chouji, but that's most likely not going to happen. Guess we'll have to wait one more week to find out what really happens. Me suspects the author is writing more flashback scenes as we speak.

I believe only 12. On the wiki it's listed as 12. And I believe the DVD box set has only 12 eps. At the end of the episode it said the end or something along those lines. Was a bit of a surprise for me.

You guys are super special. ;)

Glad I'm picking up Fumoffu from the RightStuf sale. Always makes me feel good to delete series off my hard drive and place them on my shelf. Also: I wish I could go back a couple years to when TechTV had AnimeUnleashed. Those series are still on my mind, and I want to pick them all up now...

I agree Dark, Anime Unleashed had some cool shows. I ended up buying Last Exile. Still waiting to get more cash so I can get some of the other shows they aired.

Good to hear that Igloo is good. Is seeing the original Mobile Suit Gundam recommended or required before watching Igloo though?

There are some nods here and there to the original series but for the most part it is self contained. You would get more out of it viewing 0079 first but it does work without it.

Started watching Blade of the Immortal having no experience with the manga, i'm liking the show a lot. Last show I saw about a one eyed swordsman that was so bloody was Berserk

watched Girl who leapt thru time, good flick.

Just d/l'ed Gintama and Reborn...I'm slowing working my way through all the Jump Ultimate Stars.

HxH was decent but has no ending...LAAAAMEEE.

I think they switched animation studios. It might even be the same one they used when the anime first premiered (most noticable during the Gaara-Lee fight) as the shots seem reminiscent of them.

And as for the manga, call it far-fetched but I think
Kakashi hallucinates that he's recalling his life to his dad, when in fact, he's just cast the hyperrealistic illusions of the Sharingan on himself. So, to people outside of his body, it appears he's dead while, in fact, he's just in an altered mental reality (which is what the Sharingan is capable of).

I guess that would depend on how much chakra doing something like that would use. Right now I think one of Tsunade's slugs will reach him in time to save his life but time will tell. Also I noticed yet again Rin's fate was glossed over, just that he couldn't protect her and was sorry. Reminds me I wonder what they're waiting for with the Kakashi Gaiden , 100 + episodes of filler in the franchise now but couldn't devote a few to that?

I'm bettin' the Kakashi gaiden will be a stand-alone OVA which is why the animators have noticably neglected to include it in the main storyline.
