As Grico mentioned, the '3rd Semester' was released w/ the manga. However, the reason why I put them in quotes is that only eps. 25 & 26 were ever developed as a sort of 'book-end' closure to the anime. Essentially, you'll need to read the manga to find out what happened in eps. 1-24 (which will never exist in animated form... unless the company decides to make them a la OVA style).
Oh yeah? That's kind of annoying then. I guess it doesn't make sense to release it anytime soon then until the manga is all released.

/me is back from animu club

Seriously, who the hell laughs at Mushi-shi?

I could feel my eyes receding to the back of my so that I wouldn't have to watch that terribad show anymore, yet they were laughing their asses off at every little thing that happened. Oh, Ginko's hair blew in the wind LOL. Wow, look at how that Mushi walks. Time to LAWL again.

Anime fans... ugh. >_

Don't worry, I hate myself too. Just to a lesser degree than those others.

This season I've only checked out Regios and Kurokami and I liked both of them.

I suppose this should be spoiler'd for minor episode one spoilers. :/
Kurokami's a show about a guy who meets up with a girl who seems to know about some special rules of the world that dictate people's fates. At least with the two episodes I've seen, it's starting off like Bleach/Shakugan no Shana. However, this thing's definitely got a more mature vibe going on, and despite some cliche moments it's really got a good chance at becoming something special.

Regios takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which, apparently, there are bugs and shit all around (think Blue Gender). I'm guessing the series is centered around this one guy who joins a military academy. This guy doesn't want to be in the military branch of the academy but he's got an awesome ability that makes him get forced into it anyway. This ragtag group down on their luck recruits him for their team in a contest that's going on. I kind of got a Pumpkin Scissors feeling from the team he got paired up with. My description's not so good. The show's interesting, but I'm not sure where it's going to go.

Here's a list of the shows. Regios has a better description, while Kurokami's is kind of misleading. http://img373.imageshack.us/img373/5818/winterseason0809chartv2mh2.jpg

You can watch Kurokami dubbed or subbed based on your searches and Regios is only subbed.

Latest Naruto Chapter
He threw it!!!!!! Entire Chapter was awesome, I can see Naruto having a shot in hell against Sasuke now and this is before even seeing what Itachi gave him.

that wasnt too big of a surprise though.
ever since they named that move i knew hed figure out a way to throw it ( or at least throw a clone who was holding it). i do like how hes using the frogs though i dont get why jiraya didnt use them more in his fight with pain maybe he was holding back i dunno but 2 down so far for naruto. i wish theyd do longer chapters it sucks to only see that much and have to wait a week fr the same small amount.

yeah he could stand up to sauske now since it seems hes taking things alot more seriously but sauske has got a pretty big lead against him and i still wonder if hes got access to all the other stuff orochimaru did ( when he took over diff bodies didnt he keep all those powers with him as he went from host to host?) and if he can do the resurection jutsu shit that holds all kind of possibilities especially if kakashi is dead ( which i dont think he is).

imagine him making naruto fight the 3rd and the 4th hokage or even kakashi ?
Anyone else watching Maria+Holic? I'm a sucker for crazy crap and silly girls.
I stupidly thought it was another season of Maria-sama Ga Miteru so I skipped out on it, but it looks like I'll have to pick it up soon. I love shoujo-ai~

Naruto Manga has been pretty decent recently. Supplying decent amounts of story and fighting. Bleach though, pift. The Turn Back the Pendulum arc was cool, but it seems it's just been months of speed lines and endless posturing since they've gotten back to the main story.

Haruhi, Haruhi, Haruhi!

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/new...han-churuya-san-anime-to-debut-on-february-13

Oh, god. I am so excited. Considering The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is the best anime ever made*, this news made me cream my pants. Well, not really. But it was friggin' close. My friends will most likely be unimpressed when I tell them this, as they're really looking forward to a proper second season, but maybe I can get them into this too.

*It really is.

Okay so I'm watching Houshin Engi and I'm already pretty intrigued only 10 eps in. It's another short-but-sweet series at 26 eps, but it totally has Chinese Kung-Fu TV Drama Series appeal.

Gah, I'm going through ToraDora withdrawal. For awhile the Translators at Baka-Tsuki kept ahead of the anime but they've stalled on Vol. 7. Sure it's a cheesy tsundere series. But I need CHEESE. I need more of ultimate housewife Takasu Ryuuji.

Anyone else catching Ride Back?

Ah, finally, the Gintama subbers have reached the Bentendo OwEe two-parter (98 and 99), and it's hilarious. My favorite clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slKJQyRCDJ4&fmt=18

"Zega fanboy, shut up and go play Dreamcast, you idiot. Go wait for that Shenmaro sequel forever, you idiot."
"You don't have to tell me that, because I'll still wait for it. I strongly believe that it'll surely be reborn one day."

Dating sim challenge:
First event: Bump into the heroine, she falls to the ground, dropping a giant live swordfish that she was carrying in her mouth.
Option One - Help...
the swordfish; Hero goes down the swordfish route and sleeps next to the swordfish for 30 minutes.
Option Two - Try to leave
Only to be stabbed in the back with the swordfish by the heroine, leading to an RE-style "YOU ARE DEAD" game over sequence

The Prince of Tennis box sets are $24, anyone have any comments on the anime?

Also, X'amd finally ended it's run on PSN. I've obviously not spending over $100 to RENT the damn episodes on PSN, anyone think there's a chance of a DVD/Blu-Ray release?

And if i'm not pushing it, some english subs? :)

Moxio lies. Don't believe a word he says. Prince of Tennis is PHENOMENAL. Where else can you watch tennis played out as if it was Street Fighter... WITH TENNIS??!!!!!!!! Seriously, everyone has signature moves that absolutely defy physics. And whatever you do, don't let Moxio convince you that some guy named Sanada is the best character. It's a total fabrication. It's Tezuka, hands down.

I think I asked this awhile back, maybe you can answer.

Does Gintama ever get more serious and tell more interesting stories or is just 1-shot joke episodes forever?
Now it's time to start Eureka Seven.
Wish they'd come out with a boxset. I love that show, and the music is awesome.
$$$$a please, Tezuka got his ass handed to him by My Boy.
Oh, yeah,
yelling to use the sheer force of his voice (and by metaphor, his will to win) to transmit sound waves to nudge a ball suspended perfectly on the net
is, by definition, an ass-kicking. :p
Especially when both players had beaten each other to exhaustion. Totally an ass-kicking.
:roll::lol:;)
I'll give Sanada the win, but you can bet Tezuka won't fall for that shit again, were a rematch to occur. Why else would Sanada say he doesn't wanna play Tezuka anymore?
Because Tezuka is clearly no longer a match for him.
Speculation. :p
If it was a completely lopsided battle, I'd grudgingly agree but Tezuka got edged out by a tiny gust of wind emanating from Sanada's mouth when both were completely exhausted. At that point, it was luck or fate not skill.
:bouncy:

I stopped in at FYE earlier today and walked out with the complete Utena collection (3 box sets) for $64 after tax. :whee:

I've only seen the first dozen or so episodes, so I hope the rest is as good as everyone says it is.

NICE, those have been long out of print. Best anime EVER!!
Finally finished Samurai Champloo.

I liked it, though I wish they hadn't
split up at the end...

Now it's time to start Eureka Seven.
I kind of liked how Champloo ended. It seemed more impactful like that.

So far, the only thing I have watched this month is the first episode of the 1980's Astroboy on Netflix 360. I was really surprised at the mature and cruel elements in that first episode. Did this show ever air in the US? I imagine if it did that there were edits made.
Seconded! Just wait till you see Akio's car.
Speaking of, I just got "OHTORI" license plates a few months back. I should take some photos...

Got my copy of Clannad part 1 yesterday, almost a month early from rightstuf. Its been quite enjoyable so far up through episode 5. It has mostly been lighthearted so far, but as a Key series (Kanon, Air) I'm sure we will get into extreme heartbreak and sadness soon enough.
I think I asked this awhile back, maybe you can answer.

It will break into serious or semi-serious action arcs from time to time, with one-shot episodes and two-parters between the arcs; the Umibozu (Kagura's Father) arc is probably the first minor one (Ep. 40-42). The most well-known major arc is probably the serious action-centric Benizakura arc (58-61), then some time after that there's the serious Maid Android minor arc (69-71), then the semi-serious Kyuubei Yagyu major arc (76-81), then the serious Mitsuba (Okita's Sister) two-parter (86-87; it's not a long arc, but it gives a lot of backstory). The subs are about to start the next serious major arc, the Shinsengumi Rebellion arc (101-105), which looks similar in tone to the Benizakura arc.

EDIT: And since PoT was mentioned earlier:

Alright I am about to watch Saint Seiya from the beginning for the third time. Can someone explain to me why it isnt more popular in English speaking countries?

/me shrugs

I didn't like the animation much myself.

Though, I do have the card game. If you're ever in Minneapolis, we should totally play!
I didn't know they were doing another FMA series. Do we know anything about it?
It's rumored to follow the manga more faithfully, the original voice actresses for both Ed and Al will be reprising their roles, and it will premier on Japanese TV on April 5th at 5pm.

I'm watching Soul Taker right now. On episode 4 and I'm wondering what the hell I was thinking when I bought it. And apparently Pioneer doesn't know how to make a quality DVD either because the quality of these things is QUALITY. :/

So it's essentially a reboot?

Saint Seiya sucked from what I could stomach to watch when it was on Cartoon Network after Toonami. It had some pop-punk cover of a song that I liked as the intro that was the first sign of how bad it would get.

I felt the same way after catching a few eps, did nothing for me but then my Honduran friend nearly murdered me when I said as much

Bingo. No word on if they're going to start again from the beginning or what, though.

Soul Taker is an anime.
Pioneer is the publisher of said anime in the States.
QUALITY is the opposite of quality. I'm saying it sucks.
