I do have my PC hooked up to my TV DVI > HDMI, Only thing is that I prefer the sound coming out of the TV instead of the computer speakers. Either way, I like keeping the episodes in my collection in case I want to watch it in the future, or my internet mysteriously shuts off.

I do watch Hulu like that sometimes when I miss shows.
Before I built my HTPC with HDMI out (so audio and video go to the tv), we used my g/f's laptop, and used s-video out and a headphone->stereo cable we bought at wal-mart, for I think about $10. Hmm, but you said DVI->HDMI... which I think would be expecting the sound from HDMI and not a second plug.

--Did some searching around. Do you have any audio plugins near the HDMI that might be for the HDMI port? I just looked at my cheap Olevia and it actually has some! I wasn't expecting that at all. If you have these, you can just run a headphone-stereo split cable from the headphone jack of the computer to the tv. If not, your best bet is to go with a different video input that can also accept seperate audio (componant, s-video, etc). Hope this helps!

Actually my TV does have the red/white plugs next to the HDMI 2 port which conveniently is where my TV is plugged. I guess I'll be needing that headphone to stereo splitter. Probably monoprice.com huh? Or if you know a place, let me know. Thanks.

Yeah monoprice would be best. This looks good, for 66 cents. Not sure if I knew of monoprice when I went to walmart... I think we needed the cable right away though.

I tell you, when I get a job again, I'm buying every cable I've ever needed before from monoprice, in double. That way I won't have to wait when I need that cable.

I just got done watching the Air movie. I loved it.

I thought that the animation was really well done. I liked the smooth look of the film that the TV show did not have. I think the TV show is better, but the movie was still awesome. I like how it was a retelling of the story, but without the other girls and some of the mysticism that the TV show had. The movie is vague—plus with the lacking mysticism—it makes Misuzu's death even more sad. Poor Misuzu.

I watched my LE copy of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time that I bought from the Best Buy sale.

Man, I really dug this movie.

It was just a fairly simple, yet interesting story. I loved the art in this film. The backgrounds were vibrant and alive, and the character designs were very good. I think this is a really good film to use to introduce a person new to anime. It left me wanting more, but in a good way.

My wife and I typically watch our anime subtitled, but often give the dub a few seconds to see how it feels. We started this one out dubbed to check it out and never went back to the sub.

The movie was fantastic as well. I just wish they'd have had the standard version at Best Buy and not the LE. I've got no use for the spiffy box or soundtrack.

I finished watching Samurai 7. I really liked it, especially all of the action sequences. Some of the stuff they were pulling was ridiculous, but in a good way.

first time posting in this thread.

Anime:
I caught up in One Outs and KHR! (Reborn!).
Also watched some Shippuden. I left off where Naruto went 4-tails on Orochimaru and finished up the Hidan/Kakuzu arc (skipped the filler arcs).

Manga:
Read a few HNI (Ippo) chapters and now up to date. I knew there would be
a bullshit conclusion to the RBJ and Miyata fight.

I read the weekly chapters for Both One piece and Bleach...both meh

I also finally caught up in the Naruto manga. I left off where
Sasuke finally got his team organized, the guy with the original curse seal just joined, and explains their purpose.
.
I already sorta knew
that Jiraiya dies cause (spoilers from Internet, etc)
but wasn't really sure about it. Same goes for
Naruto's parent(s), though that wasn't really from spoilers just obvious assumptions. Yondaime HAD to be Naruto's father, if not definitely blood related)
. I hope
Kakashi isn't dead, he deserves a much better death scene or none at all.
That would be one of the biggest bullshit things if it ends up being true. I was surprised that
Sasuke vs Itachi happened so soon. Kinda figured Itachi had a "real" reason of sorts.
All the speculation about the Akatsuki leader and Tobi
like one of them being Yondaime or Obito was kinda crazy but their real identies are still kinda insane too
. I also think the whole back story of
Pain and that Akasuki girl is stupid, especially that Jiraiya trained them and that another eye technique is revealed.

Oy, I spent a good deal of my weekend updating my Xbox with the latest and greatest of XBMC. There are so many great anime streaming options thanks to plugins now(To bad Hulu is busted for xbox since it can't use Gnash). Finally got my Harmony remote to work with xbox remote reciever too. No longer have to use an xbox controller to navigate around the menus.

Anyone else still watching Gundam 00? This current series is just so, MEH and formulaic to me. The only thing 00 has me interested in is the grunt designs.

Well in regards to Naruto
I have no problem if Kakashi died and that was his death "scene", i'm sorry but having some long drawn out moment for each character to just die gets old. I'm liking that it got mixed up, no 15 minute coughing up blood and telling Naturo he loved him like an uncle or some other garbage. Just bam dead and moving on to the fight that was still in progress. Though something tells me the anime crew is going to drag that out and give it a ton of flashbacks.

I'm still watching 00 and like I said before my major complaint with season 2 is that the 00 and
Setsuna
seem to be the only ones capable of doing anything. Everyone else became window dressing or in the case of
Allelujah
button pushers. The last few episodes have at least gone back to the tried and true kill em all Tomino style and i'm doubting more and more many of the cast will survive the ending.

Well in regard to Tomino style, it really only works if you have attachments to the characters. And well, they've all worn thin on me except Marie/Soma. I just hope they don't redux MSG anymore. If this ends with a Last Shooting, it'll be so lame.

Heh yeah well I haven't liked the Tomino style yet anyway, Zeta bored me to tears and it came off more like rushing an ending. With 00 at least there had been some build up to this, some had it coming for a long time. I do like the MSG references thrown in, all it needs is for Ribbons to have a remix of Amuro's theme playing during a battle.

Just opened up Ghost in the Shell volume 5 and a 30 minute phone card popped out, anyone care to enlighten me as to the point of throwing a phone card in?

that's not exactly what I meant. I would have preferred
a more interesting fight against Pain and no one [getting in the way] serving as backup like Choji or his father. Kakashi should have been killed by Pain's doing-not Kakashi using his last bit of life to warp that missile heading towards Choji. Makes Choji seem even more useless as well as Kakashi not really fighting to win/survive.

He used the last of his power to make sure Konoha had a fighting chance against Pain, ninja are tools of the village and he did his job to the end. Kakashi won by letting that info survive . I mean lets get real here Pain took on the entire villiage and wiped the floor with them, everyone was coming off as useless because he was just that much more powerful. So Kakashi has some grand battle to the death with Pain and then is killed......... what does that prove? We already knew Pain was a top tier guy, would have just been a waste of panel space dragging out what is supposed to be a quick and brutal assault.

This fight has shown me how badass Jiraiya really was. I never took him seriously until then. He managed to win against 3 bodies at the same time and held out for a while vs all 6.

Naruto Manga Thoughts :
Naruto can apparently take anything in stride, legendary ninja turns out to be his father, his chakra ghost tells him as much and Naruto doesn't even take more then 30 seconds to get over it. This chapter felt rushed for some reason, I would have really liked a longer conversation between the two. Maybe i'm just imagining things but I would think an orphan would ask a ton more questions if given a chance like that. Also the 4th mentioned only half of the kyuubu's power was sealed into Naruto. I think this is the second time this has been mentioned, anybody remember if they said where the other half is?

Bleach manga thoughts :
Instead of my knee jerk reaction of going what the hell there was almost no dialogue in this entire chapter i'm going to look at this from another angle. If Ichigo is hitting super sajin or whatever then odds are the other Vizards are capable of the same thing and merely haven't shown it. They've had a 100 years to harness their power and if does become an all out brawl between them and Soul Society I expect them to school Ichigo pretty easily.

But back to the chapter the anime wll make this part great but its hard to read something like this because there is nothing to read :p Ichigo screams, arms go flying. End chapter.

Finished My-HiME a couple days ago, it was really good. It has a perfect mix of fun happy high school life with some really cool action sequences, definitely worth watching.

I'm thinking of getting My-Otome from TSRI, and possibly Gundam 00 since it's on sale.

I've never watched Gundam before, would i need to know anything if i just started watching 00? I heard it was from the makers of Code Geass and might be worth a watch.

Eh? It was made by the same studio Sunrise. That doesn't mean much of anything, hell they've done quite a bit of other stuff too. But to answer your question no you don't need to know anything at all to watch 00, there are a few references to the original gundam thrown in for fans but Gundam 00 is an alternate universe story.

Finished Haibane Renmei...it was....interesting. I don't know I would call it necessarily good because it moves slowly and as a result leaves too much unanswered. A lot of anime do this exact thing which drives me crazy. If you've got a story and a universe, then friggin' LET ME IN ON IT.

After watching the latest episode of Gundam 00:
Ugh. Wow, let's see we have the "induced by magic glowing crap" telepathy with crying (Is it wrong I hope GN particles cause cancer?). The old, I'm not dead I'm in the computer bit. Setsuna + 00 = Dues Ex Machina. Billy, Sumergai, and Lockon wussing out(Yeah I know he shot Ali, but still they let him(lockon) pull the good guy move by shooting when Ali turns to shoot him, not the morally black/grey of shooting him in the back). I'm surprised no one remarked that "Setsena is the heart of outer space

I want to know why a wolf would like apples so much as opposed to... oh let's say... human meat. Althought the whole apples pickled in honey recipe sounded really good.

Spice and Wolf was one of the more enjoyable animes I've seen lately. I wish there were more series with supply and demand and currency manipulation as storylines. There's suppose to be a sequel coming out some time this year.

I just watched Ghost in the Shell for the first time. I really liked it, albeit the narrative was a bit confusing and hard to follow since there was no exposition. The movie covers some interesting topics and shares some similarities to Blade Runner—which is an amazing movie.

As a GitS fan, I don't recommend the movie unless you like Oshii films. I say read the Manga(original and 1.5, 2 uhhhh yeah better off leaving that alone for now.) and watch SAC, 2nd GiG and Stand Alone Society.
The Nasu OVAs?
No, it was a 24 eps. series. I don't remember the name either but I do remember seeing a few eps. of it.

is there a newer grappler baki anime series or something? does it do MMA any justice? i used to read the garouden manga for that reason as the game has some pretty epic MMA elements.
Because they're smart and realize that if they don't give people a legit, free option, fan subbers are going to do it any ways.

By releasing free subs, Viz is expanding the market for their scarce goods--collectibles, DVDs, and other merchandise.
If I remember right, after watching a few episodes on Crunchy roll, don't you have to sign up and pay to continue watching?
Well ToraDora is over. I can only hope those kind souls translating the novels have the will to finish.
This was a pretty good show, kind of sad it's over.
This was a pretty good show, kind of sad it's over.
Yeah, it was a good RomCom. Though in a way I'm glad it's over so it doesn't disintegrate into a standard harem show or whatever happened to ZnT. Really hope to be able to read the rest of the light novels especially the two spin offs.

Speaking of novels, I've read all the released Haruhi ones, so I guess I'll finally watch the anime.

Well Gundam 00 is over. And for me it was
just so horrible. Really 0 gundam vs. Exia? Really? How was this even supposed to be a fight? It's like a fight between the original and the Zeta Gundam. Ribbons Gundam looked cool at least(Might get the 1/100 HG when it come out), but had a reallly horrible name. The only good fight was Lockon in a busted gundam vs. an innovator. And the crappy happiily ever after?!(Oh look the government is good again! Poor princess is no longer poor. Setsena cures caner) Gah, Someone get depressed Tomino for the movie, people need to die.

I just finished watching Desert Punk. I loved Desert Punk.

I am not someone who enjoys crude humor that much, especially in some of those ridiculous looking movies that come out in the theater that people go see for God knows what reason. Most of the time it is because their crude humor is horribly executed. Desert Punk on the other hand is the most finely crafted and amazing crude humor I have ever seen; Desert Punk is hilarious. I love the crude and insane nature of the show.

The characters are really well defined and I love how the show always makes room for each character that has been encountered in the past. There are so many cameos and surprising moments.

Just like Rain Spider; that guy is amazing.

Oh man, however, I am sad now that it is over. I wish there was another season or something. I don't want it to end.

Are we ever gonna get Galaxy Express 999 on dvd?
That was actually the first anime I ever saw. I believe it started my love for it. Saw Adieu Galaxy Express 999 shortly after. It's probably been well over 10 years since I've seen either.

Also, what series are related?
I have vol. 2-6 of Galaxy Railways. (need to get vol. 1 w/box)
I think my friend (ex friend) has Queen Emeraldes VHS.

My Haruhi DVDs shipped from rightstuf today. I've never seen it. Am I going to be blown away by it as most everyone else seems to have been?

I wanted Ribbons to pilot the 0 Gundam one last time so hell yeah I loved that part. And honestly this is just a place holder ending, the real ending won't be until 2010 so i'm reserving judgment until then.

I'm starting JoJo's Bizarre adventure...however I only have it English. : \

Anybody know of a streaming sub'd version maybe I could watch instead?
The dub (like most) is pretty painful to watch.

I've only seen the first four episodes of Desert Punk, but I really enjoyed what I saw. Now that I have the complete set from Best Buy, I'll watch it soon.

In regards to crude humor, I tend to agree with you. I don't like most of the live-action stuff with crude humor, but anime I enjoy for some reason. Goldenboy and Shin-Chan are two great examples of crude humor shows that I find hilarious. Shin-Chan is just so wrong sometimes, but I can't stop laughing.
I just finished the GaoGaiGar ova. I wish there was more mech anime of this sort.
GaoGaiGar is one of my favorite mecha anime ever. I cried manly tears at the end of Final. It's a shame the anime didn't have good sales in the states, I'd like a DVD copy of Final to come out.

The first time he dropped the Goldion Hammer I had to change my boxers. It was beyond epic.
