I know after the WWF & other WWF came to their initial agreement, the wreslting WWF was permitted to continue to use the WWF name & logo as long as they never altered their logo - fuzzy memory here, but this may have only applied to Europe. So years later Vince starts the Attitude stuff and ignores/"forgets" that part of the agreement & changes the logo worldwide. Panda WWF is pissed, and here we are now.

Again, fuzzy memory here, but I think Vince could have actually fought and possibly kept the WWF name for use in the US. But since they are such a "worldwide-based" company they didn't bother - if they had to change it in one place it made more sense to be consistent.

But going back to the initial point - the old "chrome block" WWF logo is apparently protected under the initial agreement, so they can use it whenever.

Davey Richards has been stripped of the PWG title, as his booking commitments will make him unavailable for the rest of the year in PWG. They'll decide a new champion Oct 9th when Joey Ryan, Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, and Brandon Gatson wrestle a four corners match for the belt.
 
The Connecticut Post has an article up, noting that WWE is under investigation by the state of Connecticut. The investigation is in regards to how the company classifies their workers, which means they are looking at the "independent contractor" classification. WWE spokesman Robert Zimmerman is quoted in the article, saying the following…

"WWE has always complied with the law. Up until this election, WWE has not been fined nor investigated in the past for independent contractor classification. However, curiously the state of Connecticut is currently conducting an audit of WWE's classification of independent contractors. WWE constantly reviews its internal practices and procedures to comply with ever-changing employee laws."

McMahons are too well connected in CT politically. While I like this attempt in principle, they'll be found compliant with the law - even if they aren't.

I literally forgot to go to Smackdown tonight...was going to just get some cheap tickets today and head down. Really wanted to see Kane as champ in person since it'll never happen again once this run is over. That's what happens when I wait in line for Reach and then only get 2 and a half hours of sleep the night before.

The earlier comment is right...while it's fun to think that Vince may be squirming a bit, it's highly doubtful anything would happen. Vince has too much money and knows too many people in CT for this to really turn into something that could cripple them in any way...

...not to mention it wouldn't shock me if this just so happens to die down after a couple of weeks into the month of November.

If NXT really is being pushed to the internet then having Cole leave is probably a good idea. I bet we get Byron Saxton back next week.
 
Having listened to his FCW work, Saxton is decent. Matthews needs someone to 'bounce off of', and Saxton doesn't have that personality. Abraham Washington would be a better choice. He's a decent heel act that would work better with Matthews.
 
Yea first thing I thought of was Abraham Washington because of the rumors that he was suppose to be the GM of Raw a few months ago

I would love for Abe to be on NXT in Cole's place. I have already heard him call all of the Diva matches in FCW. If he calls Naomi, Sha-nay-nay on NXT I would fall over laughing.

The latest issue of the Observer has the following as a possible main event for Wrestlemania:
Undertaker vs. Sheamus to unify the belts.

Another possible match is
HEEL Cena vs. FACE Miz
.

Also, last night's NXT did a 1.01 in the ratings, with 1,203,000 viewers. Boobies = ratings, it seems.
 
The only ones that look like they belong on TV are Kaitlyn and Naomi.

Given that it's speculation, not fact, I don't see a huge reason to spoiler either of those.

Anyway, the first one is iffy because of the second participant, given that they shown no signs of making him look strong in, uh, the last 6 months. They'd need some *serious* build... or not, since no one would go into it ever believing anyone but the first participant is coming out on top.

The second one? I'll believe it when I see it. I think there's a HUGE money potential in it, but I'd be shocked if that's the guy that's chosen to go against him. To me, as played out as the feud is, the obvious foil is Orton. Oh noes, someone may figure out the other guy now!

... oh, and there's a distinct lack of HHH in either of those, so I'll take it with a grain of salt. Heh.
 
Hahaha, I only spoilered them to be on the safe side, speculation or not.

This is still MONTHS away, and like you said, I'll believe that second match when I see it.
 
They need to give Orton a character that isn't just "the unstable guy that goes around RKOing everyone and getting pops for it." I can't really remember anything he's done since Legacy broke up (as far as feuds/storylines go), except for maybe a few matches with Sheamus. He seems to be in the same boat as Edge lately, in the sense that they're both "just there."
 
Fire Pro Wrestling is coming to XBLA, though the kotaku liveblog says with avatars, hard to tell if they are serious or just being, well, kotaku.

IGN lists Fire Pro Wrestling G for PS3, but it doesn't say if it's Japan only or not...it probably is, but I really hope not. I have spent more hours playing FPR on my PS2 than probably any other game ever. Love it.
 
So instead of the awesomeness of "Blood Scorpion" Brad Love or "Bionic Man" Steve Majors I have to wrestle with avatars? I'm hoping for something better, but if this is what we're getting, fuck indeed.
 
How long before WWE throws a hissy fit about how you can use their avatar items on characters in a non-WWE game. There's full Edge,Undertaker and Cena outfits, Rey's mask, and I think DX stuff.

Are not all PS3 games region free?
 
FPWG was released as a PSOne Classic in the JPN store quite some time ago. It's ¥600, and yes, it works on all PS3s. I have a PSN copy of it.

The avatars are making me wary of the quality of the XBLA version.
 
The avatar thing is a questionable decision and the view brings King of the Colosseum to mind more than Fire Pro...but honestly, if it *plays* like Fire Pro should, it's still an immediate day 1 buy for me.

I'm kinda interested in how it turns out. There's an element of "no, it can't possibly be..." at the same time there's a modicum of excitement for the game.

I just wish I had a 360 slim so I could hook it up online again (ain't runnin' no 50' ethernet cable across the room). But that's a ways off, as GS informed me yesterday that they give $45 trade-in for the old style 360. Daaaaaaaaaayum.
 
Sell it on craigslist for $120-$150. I wanted the new 250gb slim and I had the Elite so I sold the elite for $250 and upgraded to the new one for only $50+Tax.

Michael Cole is slowly becoming the reincarnation of Andy Kaufman. I want to see him on NXT challenging the divas to matches next week.
