There used to be a coupon to print for it, but now stores should have the bar code to scan at the register.  If not, show them their own web page (above) and maybe they will figure it out.

Note that anything below here might be out of date. To be honest, I have no idea if Blockbuster even takes games for trade-in any more!

What is this thread for?
The primary function of this thread is to discuss current trade-in and sale promos, post any trade-in values you have obtained, and discuss new and used game selection and availability. Please post trade-in values with the date of the trade (or quote) and system.

It is also permissible to discuss system availability, credit issues, etc. As long as it is related to game trades or sales at Blockbuster it is generally OK to discuss it here.

Unlike more tightly focused clearance threads, it is OK to discuss more general Blockbuster issues here as well as trade requests as long as they are kept to a minimum (and usually just during specific deals).

What is this thread NOT for?
Please do not discuss the flipping of games from one Blockbuster store to another should another such opportunity arise (through trade-in deals). It is one thing to "play the market" with trade-in values from one chain to another (BBVto Amazon to EB) - free market buy low/sell high and all that. But taking advantage of loopholes in a single store's policies/promos is frowned upon and has, in the past, led to trade-in bans from BBV.

Blockbuster Game Trading Info
- You must sign up for a trade account in addition to your regular Blockbuster account
- You must sign up for a new trade account at every store you wish to trade at, even if using the same main account
- Trade-in credit will be placed onto your store account
- Credit on store accounts can only be used at that one store
- Clerks at one store cannot see your trading/purchasing history at another store via your account
- Depending on state law you may or may not get sales tax added to your trade-ins (and thus get more than normal). You will always be charged sales tax where applicable on purchases.

Current Trade-In Deals
There are no trade-in deals at this time nor have there been for a very very long time. They did however just recently cut down all their trade-in values to Gamestop-like levels (but without deals to make them more appealing as at GS).

Trade-In Values

Trade-in prices are usually universal at Blockbuster, but can be wildly different at franchise Blockbuster stores. Used game prices change on Monday. We are not currently sure when trade-in values get updated but a few years ago it used to be on Mondays. Any quotes given in this thread may thus be good through Sunday of the current week. If you want to be sure to get the same value another CAG has reported then do your trading by Sunday as the price may drop on Monday.

Also note that many stores will no longer accept video games without cover art. This is the official policy for DVD trade-ins but apparently many clerks will confuse the two and not allow it for games either. Just beware that it might be a hassle if you have a disc-only game to trade.

Darn no shattered demension price drop :( I also wanted unstoppable (dvd version) to drop to 9.99 so I can get it with one of those 9.99 movie deals, mabye next week. Thanks again hb

My BBV dropped the prices of their older blurays (new) to 9.99 and 12.99. I didnt notice this posted. Included were

Dark Knight, Alice in Wonderland (BD//DVD//DC), Shrek 4ever after (BD/DVD) Toy Story 3 (BD/DVD and I think DC), Social Network were all 12.99. There were quite a few for 9.99 as well, but I didnt get a list. Note, these were older and not the newer ones that are tagged 27.99

Killzone 3 was only 19.99 last week as was ac:b and Bulletstorm. Today kz3 went up to 39.99. Do they normally increase price randomly? I was waiting for the bogo sale later this month

you may have seen it mispriced at $19.99 but the actual price has been $39.99 for a while. was it at 2 different stores or at the same store? ac: b and bulletstorm are both correct at $19.99
 
Checked back a few pages (it seems I usually check back just one or two pages not enough) so sorry if this was answered...

Is this month's B1G1 going to follow the same structure as last time (buy any used game, get one free for under $15) or the tried and true method (both games must be under $15)?

I believe Hawaiiboy reported that he hadn't received the details yet on that issue. I think we're still waiting (as is HB) for those details at this point.

My girlfriend hates it when blockbuster has these sales. I would drive within a 100 mile radius to all the different ones to find deals. It was more for the adventure though. Now most of them are closed down but ill still hit up about 5 of them to see the different ones. Last time I got mafia 2, swu2, fallout nv, ff13, ac:brohood, and mod nation racers.... The BEST DEAL WAS A FUSHIGI For 2 bucks!!! Also some guy game me a free hello kitty plushie. That was pretty sweet 2.

So I want to start the god of war collection , god of war 3 and Brotherhood right now Walmart has it for $20.00 the first two god of war should I jump or would these games be on the b1 get 1 free deal and be cheaper?

brotherhood was 19.99 and gow was $14.99. I'd wait it out.

Guys you must be knowing about this but if you don't should also check out the Gohastings free shipping sale. You can grab a bunch of cheap DVDs. Their shipping killed their DVD deal but free shipping is so cool.

The God of War Collection can be a bit harder to find at BBV. Try Google shopping search to see if any local BBV's potentially have it in stock.

Possible since the sale runs another 3 + weeks and they have dropping prices like crazy so I wouldn't be surprised to see another drop.

Man i went in to my neighborhood BB and while looking at the ps3 selection I got intercepted by a Dish Network sales rep...where the hell they come from!, I know that they where bought out by Dish but they werent there 2 days ago...guy was cool though and i all ready have dish...anyhow I cant wait til this BOGO...i hoping dead rising 2,shattered dimensions and few others drop to 14.99 or at least how they last was with the 19.99 qualifying...any word on .99 blu's popping up?

Best Buy has the Direct Tv reps right in the store anymore. That's so annoying to be browsing the games/movies and have them come up when I'm distracted by checking the racks and hit me with the 'what kinda tv service you have' bs.

I'm already on that national DNC list for telemarketing shitheads, but you just can't avoid these in your face reps in the store's aisles sometimes.

Those Direct TV reps always ask me "Have you heard of today's great sale" and I'm always like yeah but I'm not interested. It's seriously annoying when you have 2 reps come over and ask you the same thing. But those reps were only in Best Buy. Have they started that now in Blockbuster too?

Apparently. According to JUSTSULTAN they have. I haven't been in a BBV store since the 90% off general merchandise clearance and/or the last BOGO, so I wouldn't know.:razz:
 
Yep. And if you think about it from a business point of view its a good call for Dish because they have that constant foot traffic....If I said Bestbuy my bad i meant BBV. Anyhow they have a display set up and everything...kinda annoying.

Constant foot traffic? What Blockbuster stores are you going to?:lol: The ones by me get semi busy during the weekends and usually only Fri-Sat night. Then Sunday rolls around and people are bringing back the shit they rented for a couple days over the weekend.

Otherwise it's like a ghost town in my local BBV stores.
 
Blah, just as the sale is approaching, Google Shopping doesn't want to bring up Blockbuster on any of my searches anymore :(
 
Yeah my neighborhood BBV has a steady stream of customers. It was the only one out of 5 i think that had the .99 blurays...The game selection is starting to pick up a little...then again i do live in colorado springs!
