What the hell were all the fans looking at? Did someone in the audience get ejected or something? I thought Kane was going to come out.

Oh man, Rey slipped pretty bad. Rey will still win, though (why would they put Bourne over him when they built Rey up so much by having him beat Kane?)

Bourne with an awesome enzuguri (sp?) in mid-air.. man

Cool finish, match wasn't nearly as awesome as it could've been. Still a good match though, and it's nice to see competitors shake hands out of mutual respect after the match.

..aaaaand cue Kane.
I bet you they build up a rivalry or we see a real Bourne/Mysterio long match at a PPV soon.

It looks more like a Bourne/Mysterio tag team against Kane/Henry.

Maybe they'll break from that fued and challenge CM Punk and Kofi for the tag straps. Now that'd be a hell of a match.

Bourne's in his "nice guy" gimmick mode right now but I can't wait until they do something with him.
D-X is gonna squash Miz and Morrison next week?

Wow.

Exciting.
It's gonna be awesome.

I can't wait to see Triple H pedigree someone.

betcha we don't.

What's with them knocking Shawn Michaels out of the main event?

Are they going to make Orton the replacement or something?

To prove how much of a man Batista is.

Good Lord JBL needs to hit the gym or put an APA shirt on or something.

^ It's not a throwaway WWE main event if the strong babyface champ doesn't squash two mid-card or main-event heels single handedly. Cena did it every week, it seems, and so did Triple H.

And so did CM Pun...oh, nevermind.

More than likely. Either that, or "OMG IT'S HBK HOW DID HE GET OUT HERE!!!".. but that wouldn't serve much purpose in this storyline

Shawn Michaels' "Jesus" gimmick, which he's been rockin' for the past few years, is fresh and exhilarating.

True true. I just like my idea, but then the WWE would have to have some semblance of a cruiserweight/middle weight division.

Eh, Raw was pretty boring. Hopefully next week some cool stuff goes down.

*makes note*

Thanks for the heads up, Jay. It is very appreciated.

Edit: I'll need to catch the tag title match in a re-run.

I'll definitely watch Bourne-Rey, though.
Is that WHC belt new? It looks different somehow.
They made a new belt for Jericho, and it looks like they made yet another one for Batista.

"Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce is the new booker in ROH. Rumor has it he's looking to book ROH matches "70's style", which probably means lots of Dusty finishes and Texas Death Matches.

17 hrs until I see Smackdown/ECW... I'll post up spoilers tomorrow night when I get home.

I know they announced Undertaker/Big Show in a Casket Match, and I think Rey/Kane in a cage (don't quote me)... until this week, those 4 were going to be in a tag match.

Can we not have Rey? Or have him fight in a Smackdown match? The rosters are supposed to be separate ANDTHISMAKESNOSENSE

Rey Jr./Bourne was pretty good. The crowd was hot, which always helps.

I know I say this a lot, but Mizorrison makes baby Jesus weep tears of joy---especially Morrison. Sweet panda jesus, Morrison is delicious cake.

Is it too early to boo?

Probably not. Pearce is a pretty solid worker, and he's certainly a veteran presence in a locker room full of 20 year olds. He used to book shows for the Alternative Wrestling Show in SoCal (pretty well, actually - they went from attendance of 50 to 350-400 without really flying anyone of note in), but I'm not sure how well the Gabe fanboys will take to Pearce's style.

I respect Pearce as a wrestler (I dug his match with Doug Williams, and matches with Brent Albright), but anything involving 1970s wrestling, and especially Dusty finishes, sounds like a bad, bad idea.

---

They're gonna job out Jericho. :whistle2:(

It sounds like the idea is to book shows with more ring psychology and build characters internally rather than rely on high-spots and head drops. The ROH forums (Lord, don't let me go back there) seem to be very against Pearce as booker, as they love their Briscoes and scramble cage matches. It should be interesting to see if ROH goes back to the days of pure wrestling instead of continuing forth with the crazy spots their shows have been made of in recent months.

Internet smart marks?

They'll bitch about it incessantly, and when push comes to shove, spend their money like good little children.

If Pearce coming in as booker leads to moves in ROH actually meaning something as opposed to EVERY MATCH being finisher>finisher>finisher>finisher>finisher>2 count>2 count>2.999 COUNT!, then it should lead to an improvement in the company's product from the beginning of shows to the end.

Under Gabe ROH shows were fun, but his booking style only catered to the hardcore smark base. It should be at least interesting to see how well Peirce can help the company reach the mainstream masses.

I love crazy spots as much as the next guy, but I also love to see a good story unfolded in a match.

More or less what I was getting at when I said ROH shows were exhausting.

I don't mind if a company wants to cater to smart marks - ROH has been successful at it by taking tiny incremental steps at improving their product. The jump to PPV has either been a net negative for them, or something that is irrelevant in the best case scenario. Financially speaking, at any rate. They have clearly hit their ceiling, though, in terms of growth, by doing just that.

I also suspect they could save money by not bringing in Japanese guys save for once a great while. Muta worked; Liger worked; Kobashi worked; and, the rare exception in the long term, Morishima worked very well for them. But nobody buys a ticket to see Shingo. Nobody. It's an unnecessary expense on their part.

The booking went downhill with all the stables. The Age of the Fall "hanging briscoe" promo should have been a new step in the company. Now it just looks like WWF "Gang Warz," except you have tiny flippy guys instead of Los Boricuas, Disciples of Apocalypse, and the NOD.

And their merchandise is hideous.

Surprisingly, ROH's core fans seem to be willing to give Pearce a chance. I haven't seen anyone say anything real dismissive (yet). Some comments have actually been optimistic, which is surprising.

In other ROH news, Kensuke Sasaki returns to ROH. He returns with some guy I don't know. :whistle2:# It reminds of when Sasaki faced Sting the World Cup finals in WCW. Sasaki should always have a goatee.

Jack Swagger looks like a fuckin creep. That face is messed up.

Matt Striker's announcing is so refreshing. He is the best announcer in WWE right now.

Which explains why he's stuck on ECW. You have to drop to Michael Cole levels of suck to make it to Raw.

Hell put him on Smackdown with J.R. And yeah, Cole sucks the big one. He hasn't improved in the 8-10 years he's been with the company.

If Striker is as good as everyone says he'd probably be a great match with JR. IMO, Taz is pretty bad. At least 20 times a show he'll say "WOAH,WOAH,WOAH!!!". It's just lazy not to mention completely nonsensical.

I kinda like Taz. LOL but now that you mention it he does say that a lot. JR and Striker would be a good match. Striker actually knows the moves, past wrestlers, and puts over both guys pretty well. I liked in the Dreamer match where he said something along the lines of "Dreamer should have hooked the leg. I guess his neck is so banged up he can't extend the arm." No one in WWE says stuff like that.

I actually liked Taz when he first started commentating. He wasn't as molded (forced) into the WWE style and called holds and moves by their names much more often.

I am too. ;) Hehehe!

Well, depending on things.

Stryker is fantastic. I'm not sure if they're feeding him lines to make him sound great, but he sounds great nonetheless.
