Foley/Flair is the highlight of Raw each week for me. I adore the fact that they're taking this feud slowly. I can't stand hotshot feuds. Think of how fast wrestling moves now - how long have Spirit Squad been around, and they're ALREADY breaking them up? That's just unfuckingcanny.

Anyway, Foley's promos seem far too genuine compared to the prefab tripe the remainder of the show. Is it just my bias towards Foley, or does Flair really seem like his promos have lost a step? "Be a man!" and "Fat Boy!" don't resonate in me at all, and they remind me more of jock assholes in elementary school. I *think* Flair's supposed to be the good guy here, but I know I prefer Foley. Nevertheless, the story seems to indicate to me that Foley's the good guy. Perhaps I'm wrong?

I feel the same way. I love how Foley brought up that Flair always says the same shit though it would have been nice to see him mention how Flair has wrestled the same match for his whole career (I love it when Bret shot back at Flair about this after Flair talked shit about him).

I still don't see how Flair can still go in the ring pretty well and Hogan is damn near crippled when Hogan's matches were never as intense as Flair's. Must eb due to Hogan's steroid abuse.

I marked the fuck out right there. For a match that was quite obviously thrown together at the last minute that was a damn good main event. I'm pretty much shocked that it was that good.

Actually, Raw in general wasn't too bad. Maybe they should start making major last minute changes more often?
wtf kane vs big show now on ecw tomm.. this is a joke
It a travesty, a sham, and a mockery. It's a traveshamockery. There really is little "E" in the new ECW, and little "C" worth talking about. Just call it Sorta Extreme Wrestling starring Kelly.

I still can't believe her name is Kelly Kelly.

Are you sure the announcers weren't stuttering or something?
I still can't believe her name is Kelly Kelly.
Heh, only a blonde could get away with that.

The girl is hot, and if ECW were like the old ECW I could deal with it since a little more sex is somewhat expected, but Vince seems like he is putting Kelly's routine as the crown jewel of the program and doesn't give a damn about ECW fans.

They must stutter a lot if so. A decent Raw, but not amazing enough that I'm too upset I didn't get to go.

On the other hand, if anyone happens to come across the Presale code for the Raw house show that goes on sale this Friday in Canton, OH, I'd love you forever.

Stephanie McMahon and her husband Triple H welcomed their new daughter, Aurora Rose Levesque, into the world. Aurora weighs 8lbs 7oz. Both mother and daughter are doing fine. WWE congratulates the entire McMahon family.

EDIT: Damn. too late.

I've missed ALOT of wrestling lately, but in all honesty it seems like I haven't missed much after reading the results/spoilers, fan reactions, etc.

The GAB card looked great then the 4 injuries hit and the card was undoubtedly crippled. Sure losing Mark Henry for Ken Kennedy is never a bad thing, but seeing Batista level Henry would've brought closure to that angle. Instead I think Mark Henry should just be released as he's such a huge liability.

Then the not one, not two, but THREE Freakin' kidney ailments? What's going on here? Not that Matt Hardy is a bad replacement for Super Crazy, and Hardy really should be on all the SD brand ppv cards already, but that's just plain odd that he suffered the same ailment as Lashley and The Great Khali.

My question is, why smarten the fans up? Why not have Regal and Finlay lay Lashley out with weapons of some sort at the start or before their match to explain Lashley's absence?

And the Khali thing is just ridiculous, he's been in so many dark matches and what not, why not just have him go through with the match, it's not as though tons of wrestlers have done big matches in bad condition before.

It's great that Vince is sticking to the whole wellness plan thing here even though it murdered his ppv card, but then the wellness plan looks like shit still because he let Orton slide in order to continue his storyline with Hogan.

Then again, the WWE really makes no sense at all at this point.

That's exactly it. Tonight's Raw was pretty good by Raw standards. Except for the endless mentions of the McMahons, much of the show worked, and even those mentions provided me with amusement from J.R. pointing out how fucking stupid it was, and then Cena mocking the fact that Vince is running the show from a cell phone. Here's a theory regarding the liver ailments -
Sounds to me like they're cycling off the hard stuff that the Wellness program now forbids to more legal supplements like Creatine and the like. If you misuse creatine or similar products, it certainly will do a number on your liver like what they're seeing.
Someone needs to eliminate scary spice. I can't stand her for some reason.
She actually one of my favorites, and hey, she can actually dance, which is more than I can say for most of the other chicks doing the "Drunken Sorority Girl" and the "Vegas Strip Reject"
Edge loves the "cock"!
Did you notice how for the first 20-30 seconds it was Loves the Cock EDGE? The Cena segment was decent and Maria was a Goddess as usual. The whole "HHH has inside connections as to who the father is" angle is a gem. I could be biased there, but it was hilarious, as usual. Foley's promos continue to get better and better. Also could be biased there. I can't wait until the SS breaks up. I'm interested in seeing what they do angle wise with all 5. And yes, that samoan drop thing was badass.
Actually, Raw in general wasn't too bad. Maybe they should start making major last minute changes more often?
I would venture to say that the MO of WWE right now is to put together the show in such a way. The writers shouldn't even have to work Tuesday through Sunday. It didn't seem any different to me. But then again, all the Raw matches on TV are so derivative and fucking predictably dreadful that I turn away when wrestling is on. I've been conditioned to expect a stupid match.

The funniest part of Raw tonight was HBK looking up above and asking for forgiveness after admitting he lied about Steph being pregnant a few weeks ago. Then he started doing that whole cornball oversell with Coach and I stopped caring and started laughing at just how absurd the "new" DX is.

Word on the street (and a somewhat ironic one, given the reason he wrestled at GAB): Matt Hardy will be on the sidelines for health reasons soon.

Man alive, WWE is coming down like some hardasses on their talent. It sure is a positive sign, however. Many of the guys being pulled out are midcard at best (Hardy, Super Crazy, Pitbulls), but yanking Khali (when they, as a company, have never shown any inclination to pulling a bad wrestler just because he's bad - Nathan Jones notwithstanding) and Lashley shows the lengths to which they are willing to harm their own product to the benefit of their talent. That's awesome, really. But, considering how contagious Hep C is (if that is what it is), it's totally necessary too.

So, what's the body count?
Great Khali
Bobby Lashley
Super Crazy
Kid Kash
Jamie Knoble (?)
Matt Hardy

Wow...I wouldn't be surprised to see guys move from Monday to Friday, but I'd be less surprised to see more interaction between SD and ECW.

You know one thing that pisses me off about WWE? I dont understand how people turn into heels without provocation (Like what Chavo did recently). There was no logic to it at all to me, no clues leading up to the event. Its all done for shock value but its kinda rings hollow. I dont know...thats my 2 cents. Feel free to counter-argue what I said..
I can understand Chavo's turn. His career is to be Rey's Shadow, i'd get tired of it too ;-).
I hope they go this route. Turn Chavo into Owen Hart.

As long as they don't bring up a certain deceased relative of Chavo. But, of course, they will.
I hope they go this route. Turn Chavo into Owen Hart.
That would be a fantastic idea. He'll never be as talented/popular as Eddie (much like Owen to Bret) and I think he's capable of channeling Owen.

Chavo's always been likable but forgettable (like Owen), hopefully they're thinking of something to do with him. Enough is enough and it's time for a chaange!
Chavo's always been likable but forgettable (like Owen)
And *damned* talented in the ring, if you pay close attention. Nowhere near as flashy as Eddie, but I've said it before and I'll say it again: his matches make sense. If you were wrestling someone and had them in a spot (say, their knee was hurt), what move would you do next? Well, Chavo works that way. He doesn't go from an armbar to a suplex to a hurricanrana. His work is intuitive. Again, a lot like Owen. If he goes this route, it's important for him to be angry about being in *rey's* shadow, not Eddie's. I hope they do something like this. Those two will have one *HELL* of a PPV match, if given 15+ minutes.

I just found out that one of my Buffalo Wild Wings is going to start showing 'E PPV's starting with SummerSlam, saves me $40, but I'll likely spend that much with my friends/family on food

They used to do that around here up until a few years ago.
What the hell is mordecai's new name?

Fertig according to Wiki.

Heh, fruitbat.

She did look pretty good.

I am enjoying the Credible/Balls match. Crowd is into it and it's nice to see ECW guys get more time.
has kane always been from death valley too?
I always thought he was from the "fiery depths of hell" or something.
I am enjoying the Credible/Balls match. Crowd is into it and it's nice to see ECW guys get more time.
Yeah, that's what the few house show reports have been calling him (Fertig); my guess is that they're considering changing it if they don't mention it on TV. Not having a name doesn't have an air of mystery to it, really, and we all know the WWE really drives hard on branding their guys.

I thought the Credible/Balls match was one of the worst I've seen in ages: Mahoney's punches were farther away from Credible than I currently am, and Justin's three rest holds in the first two minutes of the match make me wonder if he even remembers how to wrestle. The big question is this: what made Ball's teeth look like that: playing with his tongue ring, or meth?

I found it funny that in Kane's profile it had "Starred in 'See No Evil'" as a career highlight.

And Credible/Balls was solid. Pity it ended in a DQ, which I still found very strange in an ECW match.
The big question is this: what made Ball's teeth look like that: playing with his tongue ring, or meth?
The possibilites are endless, that's for sure.

Angle next week, and RVD in two (tonight is three weeks since his ass was sent home). Back to normal.

It's funny that this seems to be the first episode to really deviate from the previous editions of ECW, but having a debut (Fertig, for now) and an ECW wrestler vs ECW wrestler match (Credible/Balls). OTOH, they did have the staple segments (Kelly, Knox and Sandman; Heyman promo; etc), and the only staple they took out this week was Sabu, the one dude I have consistently enjoyed seeing so far.

They seemed to be setting up a Sabu vs TBS title match. Summerslam?

Lastly, I've decided why I hate Mike Knox. Not because his name is as boring as his look, his character, or his wrestling style. It's because the motherfucker looks like Bull Shannon:

That's what you get when you have both Smackdown (a family oriented wrestling show) and ECW (an adult one) the same night.
