I'm really liking 08. I like the different power classes. I like how it feels like I actually choose a different wrestler altogether vs. a different guy with a couple different moves.
For instance, in Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio, Orton can't often hit his high dropkick because Mysterio's so short. It seems like when I WAS able to land the high dropkick, it didn't take Mysterio out, it just kinda brushed his head. Mysterio can't really lift Orton, so they'll confront like they're going to grapple, and Mysterio will stomp on his shoe.
I also went into "Rampage" mode with Lashley earlier. It's similar to No Mercy's "finisher" status, where your guy just get pissed off and goes beserk. An adrenaline rush. I held RB and hit Y to activate that.
I like that there's really no stamina meter this year. You can run, and your guy gets progressively slower. Stop and let him rest for a second. Think of GTA: San Andreas and how your guy got tired of running and you had to let him rest.
All in all, I'll be picking it up. It's nice to have a learning curve with different wrestlers and different styles. For instance, when you choose Lashley, you can choose technical or brawler. Each type has advantages and disadvantages. Technical wrestlers will automatically reverse all strong grapples until a limb turns yellow from injury.
But yeah. Don't just write this one off. When/if you can download/buy and play the demo, do so. It's pretty good.
