I thought he killed Shawn Michael's career this year... Same with RVD.

And Sgt. Slaughter.

They're just repeating legends right now, since many WWE legends want nothing to do with the company.

Since when is Booker T a Legend?

Oh and Myke, according to time warner's channel guide, they moved OVW to 4pm cause of the football game.

Since he kicked Batista's ass backstage.

$5 to download Kevin Thorn? I can understand if it was some legends, but not people on the regular roster. What's next, charging for new arenas that should've been in the game from the start?

I hope they don't go the way EA has with charging for crap that should've been in the game from the start.

Indeed, this is just an absurd abuse of the technology.

I'm really liking 08. I like the different power classes. I like how it feels like I actually choose a different wrestler altogether vs. a different guy with a couple different moves.

For instance, in Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio, Orton can't often hit his high dropkick because Mysterio's so short. It seems like when I WAS able to land the high dropkick, it didn't take Mysterio out, it just kinda brushed his head. Mysterio can't really lift Orton, so they'll confront like they're going to grapple, and Mysterio will stomp on his shoe.

I also went into "Rampage" mode with Lashley earlier. It's similar to No Mercy's "finisher" status, where your guy just get pissed off and goes beserk. An adrenaline rush. I held RB and hit Y to activate that.

I like that there's really no stamina meter this year. You can run, and your guy gets progressively slower. Stop and let him rest for a second. Think of GTA: San Andreas and how your guy got tired of running and you had to let him rest.

All in all, I'll be picking it up. It's nice to have a learning curve with different wrestlers and different styles. For instance, when you choose Lashley, you can choose technical or brawler. Each type has advantages and disadvantages. Technical wrestlers will automatically reverse all strong grapples until a limb turns yellow from injury.

But yeah. Don't just write this one off. When/if you can download/buy and play the demo, do so. It's pretty good.
Yep, I have heard that there are DLC wrestlers.. for PS3 only. So there's the exclusive features, I guess. PS3 gets first person and DLC, 360 gets custom sountracks.
If it comes down to DLC wrestlers and custom soundtracks, I'll pick custom soundtracks every day. You can at least make a decent representation of whoever you want in the CAW mode, and then you can put their theme in there. plus, that crap would be free instead of a premium for a bunch of people I probably wouldn't care about.

Hmm. OVW just pulled a Mikey Whipwreck with the TV title.

The football game overran enough that I my tivo missed the beginning of the show; I'll get it overnight and upload it.

I checked out Best Buy today to see if they had preorders for SvR2008, and had no luck. The only games our Best Buy are taking orders for are Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto 4 (which still has an October release), and Guitar Hero 3 (which carries an MSRP of $89.99 and $99.99 for Wii/PS2 and 360/PS3, respectively).

Really looking forward to SvR 2008, though. Here's to hoping there's an XBLM demo soon.

Hopefully this works.

Bummer. Mine had two, it was sitting with the normal games. It's kinda weird how I found it, though. I was amused because they had a whole mess of "pre-order now!" boxes for COD4 sitting in the PS2 section. COD4 is PS3 and 360 only. I wanted to see what they had 360 wise. Halo 3.. Guitar Hero 3.. haha, Eternal Sonata is sitting in front of a "29.99" tag from Oblivion, I wonder if I should grab it and fight for it.. WTF SMACKDOWN VS RAW 08? Yeah. I'm not alone, though. People on GameFAQs are finding 'em. Just keep checking back.

Jody Fleisch and Trent Acid both eat shit in seperate matches at the same show. Brilliant.
Punk looks... weird.
seriously. I'd imagine that the character model they used in the game would be exactly what he would look like if he were ever turned into a muppet. and is it just me or is the pepsi tattoo strangely missing? you know, basically the symbol associated with him on every sign at every show?

You guys hate other types of spoilers (books, TV, movies, video games) as much as wrestling spoilers? I just recently started playing Sonic Rush Adventure which I've been looking forward to ever since Sonic Rush 1 came out and I accidently spoiled it for myself by visiting GameFAQs forums (STUPID STUPID STUPID). Anyway... I pissed myself off hardcore, even though it wasn't that big of a spoiler and I kind of expected it anyway.

I guess for me.. it depends on how much I'm anticipating whatever it is. Makes sense huh... probably a dumb topic.. hmm.. opinions?

I was thinking the same exact thing. His mouth is just messed up. I miss CM Punk's Anaconda Vice and how it started off with a psuedo-Rock Bottom.

Now... who's looking forward to Fire Pro Wrestling Returns North American release?

I'm a fan of the button mashing type wrestling games, but the Fire Pro series is a breath of fresh air, and their create a wrestler mode knows no bounds. Can virtually keep the roster updated always. Well, hopefully they keep it that way in the North American release.

edit: was looking around and saw this, most likely posted earlier. Though it was interesting, especially with most of them having the opponent land on their head. (Also interesting how CM Punk borrowed two of the moves on the list). BTW, KENTA's G2S in teh clip was incredible.
The El Generico move?
Yeah.

I've never seen a Brain Buster that plants the opponent on the top turnbuckle.

That shit was sick.

He pulled that move a bit in PWG and I saw him do it for the first time live in ROH in a match against Davey Richards. fucking crazy.

In other news...
According to people at an indy show in Canada last night, Mark Briscoe was in a motorcycle accident and was unable to wrestle in his scheduled match, but was able to do a run-in. He was said to be banged up pretty badly, and looked like he might be out of action for awhile.

When *aren't* the Briscoes in motorcycle wrecks?

I want to feel sorry for him (really, I do), but some of these guys need to sit down and have a talk with Ben Roethlisberger about what not to do. As a paid professional (per appearance, no less!), it's in his best interest to get a nice Volvo station wagon instead.

Generico's Brainbustahhhhh! is insane. He pulled it off on Roderick against the ring apron to the outside at BOLA.

Battle of the Icons was good. I liked Homicide a lot. Is he full time with TNA now?

Yeah but he's basically been depushed into oblivion since Konan left. Fifth Year Festival NYC should be encoded and uploaded in about another 3 hours. Sorry about the delay. My cousins came in from overseas the other day and I've been preoccupied with them.

Anyone watch Driven yet?

EDIT: fuck Fiji! Son!

Regardless of the Brainbustahhhhh, Generico is hands down my favorite wrestler currently on the ROH roster. He's like the ultimate babyface that you can get behind and it's quite something to see him live.

Man, I feel bad for Stone Cold.

I just watched The Condemned and it's just about the worst action movie I have ever seen. How could they fuck up an idea of Stone Cold and 10 inmates killing each other so badly?

His entrances in PWG are always fun - it's almost that whole Ultimate Warrior thing. "Ole!" comes on, and everyone in the place is singing along at the top of their lungs. Always a fun sight to see.

'Course, we could just be all really big Bouncing Souls fans.

For the record guys, ROH Driven is now available on the Verizon FIOS ON Demand TV service. I'll be ordering it later tonight and have a review up for you guys. It's a pretty much order when you want thing and you can view the show for 24 hours afterwards at your leisure.

I may be switching to cable (directv + phone line/internet, switching to cable/internet/no land line would save us $50 a month) sometime in the next week or so, so if there are ample replays of Driven, I'll certainly check it out.

What are your options? If you have access to FIOS, I have to say that in my opinion there is no better choice.
