"JBL did mention Show’s guaranteed contract and said Triple H would rip it to shreds if Show didn’t follow along."

If they are going to bother to bring it up, it would be nice if it at least made sense.
:whistle2:k IIRC, wasn't it the same contract where Big Show "punched" Vince(remember that botch?) and Triple H couldn't do a damn thing because of that contract?

WWE really needs to hire someone so that they're at least consistent with storylines. I remember there was a point in the past 5-6 years where they weren't referring to Undertaker & Kane as brothers.

The day WWE keeps track of their stories is the day WWE isn't WWE.

JBL will undoubtedly try to bind some of the stories and talk about history. I've heard him do it before. However, at the table, you have a Michael Cole who is terrible at his job, and the ghost of Jerry Lawler.

It's as Matt Striker mentioned on Colt Cabana's podcast: WWE isn't a wrestling company anymore; they're an entertainment company. (See: They don't care about their history or pro wrestling history.) That's why Striker's Joey Styles/prime Mike Tenay style of commentary didn't work. Probably the only reason JBL can say what he says is because he's JBL.

I think it's apparent that Clarence Mason is still on retainer and he found a loophole in Big Show's ironclad contract.  No one ever mistook John Laurinaitis for a negotiating genius.

That ironclad contract story line sucked balls anyway. I'm happy they're not bringing it up. Weeping Big Show on Smackdown is the best Big Show since he was managed by Paul Heyman.

NJPW to start doing English commentary on their PPVs with Matt Striker and Mauro Ranallo.

So those pictures from Show getting in the ring and forward, were those shown on TV? They weren't shown on YouTube.
Yep. Check Mitch079's video: 1:15:50 onwards. Show was fantastic.

...and now he doesn't have a guaranteed contract. Also, Steph was 12 years old in 1999.

I don't understand what is wrong with acknowledging the contract and just threatening to put him on the shelf for the remainder of the contract if he doesn't follow orders.

OK sorry for the questions but the one site I trust (Inside Pulse) didn't have the answers and I only get what WWE puts on YT. Thanks in advance.

1. How much of the Show stuff about bad finances is real?

2. Did Cody's contract run out, is he hurt, or are they just giving him time off for a honeymoon?

I guess tonight theme for Raw was "Crying Giants and Fired Rhodes". Yeesh, they really made it feel like one of those boring shows on a holiday.

...and now he doesn't have a guaranteed contract. Also, Steph was 12 years old in 1999.
So Undertaker abducted a 12 year old Stephanie and Test was dating/Triple H married a 12 year old in '99? I guess that would also mean that Macho Man supposedly slept with a 6-7 year old too by her lying about her age. Or does she think that Big Show is Andre the Giant?

So now not doing matches supposedly breaks this "ironclad contract"? Someone needs to go back and review that storyline, because he walked out of a couple matches during that storyline. Seems like what they're doing now is a lame ass attempt of a "if you don't do this, you're fired" storyline with his contract.

I'm hoping they have him sneak back in with the contract he stole out of Sandow's briefcase. (though they haven't mentioned at all that he actually stole it in the first place)

Apparently WWE has pulled Christian off TV and their live events because of a concussion he received last week.   So guess KaneRobot's wish of Christian taking time off came true, at least for a little bit.  It also kinda explains why they so suddenly dropped the Del Rio/Christian feud and replaced him with RVD.

1. Celebritynetworth has Show being worth $20 million so I guess it's about as real as Stephanie being 12 years old in 1999.
2. I would guess it is for the honeymoon. If it were an injury or his contract it probably would have been reported somewhere else prior to Raw.

Happened during his RAW match with Orton. I think it happened with that sick bump he took off the top rope where he slammed off the apron to the floor. He seemed somewhat out of it after it happened. Youtube embedding seems to not be working so just copy and paste the link below to see it.

I don't know why, but it would make me soo happy if he sneaked back by posing as Goldust and winning the briefcase from Sandow.

I hope he has a good time on his honeymoon, but right now just seems like a bad time for him to take off. He's been doing so well as of late.

They missed a prime opportunity for Show to get a HUGE pop from the crowd by punching Reigns or Trips instead of Bryan.

Instead the crowd couldn't give two fucks less, and we soak in a jacuzzi full of Show's tears. Dude's been crying for the past 3-4 shows, no?

I'm sorry to hear that... I think it may be time for Christian to retire as a wrestler. He's had a lot of injuries over the years and I would hate for him to have something happen that ruins the rest of his life (head injuries should not be taken lightly). Edge is retired and Christian should probably follow suit.

Although, I would love him to stick around in another capacity. Christian rocks!

The G1 (Grade One) Climax is a professional wrestling tournament held each August by the New Japan Pro Wrestling promotion. The G1 draws standing room only crowds each night, record receipt gates and generates front-page coverage on the sports sections of several of the daily newspapers in Tokyo. Though it has sometimes been held as a single-elimination tournament, it is usually (and currently) held as a round-robin, with winners from two blocks wrestling in the final to decide that year's winner. In its current format, the tournament lasts between one to two weeks. The winner of each block is determined by a points system; two points for a victory, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss.

The promotion established the G1 Climax tournament in 1991 as a platform to showcase the company's top heavyweights and have them compete in round robin matches where the winners of the two divisions would then square off in the tournament finals. The first G1 was held from August 7 to August 11, 1991 at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan. The winner of the tournament, assuming they are not already the champion, has traditionally earned a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Since 2012, the winner has earned his title shot at New Japan's largest event, Wrestle Kingdom in Tokyo Dome, held annually on January 4.

The G1 Climax tournament has often been used as a platform for New Japan to push their rising stars. Wins by young up-and-comers over Japanese legends would usually take their respective careers to new heights. Past winners include Masahiro Chono, Keiji Mutoh, Shinya Hashimoto, Yuji Nagata, Hiroshi Tanahashi and others who have gone on to become wrestling superstars.

Unlike the New Japan Cup, the G1 Climax features the then-reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion as one of the participants, except in 1992, 2001, 2004 and 2008, when then-champions Riki Choshu (in 1992), Kazuyuki Fujita (in 2001 and 2004), and Keiji Mutoh (in 2008), respectively, did not compete in the tournament. Often being labeled as a favorite to win the tournament, the IWGP Champion has reached the final five times, the first one being in 1995 when Keiji Mutoh won the tournament. Mutoh would repeat this feat again in 1999, but would lose the final to Manabu Nakanishi. Other then-reigning champions to reach the final include Kensuke Sasaki in 2000, Kazuyuki Fujita in 2005 and Yuji Nagata in 2007. Mutoh and Sasaki are the only two wrestlers to have won the G1 Climax while holding the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

I watch it between studying for law school and the LSATs. Still going through it. But there's a lot of legitimate "Match of the Year" candidates here.

The Iishi / Shibata match in particular got a rare 5 star review from Meltzer, joining the company of other matches like Shawn/Razor from Wrestlemania X and Cena/Punk from Money in the Bank. Check it out here.

Heads-up, HTTM: The "Hidden list" code seems to work better than the actual "Spoilers" code. It's the old Spoilers function. Dunno if the YouTube/video code is compatible, tho. Just wanted to share because you use the Spoilers code. Cheers.

Did you watch him in TNA? That was his glory period as a singles wrestler. I still love when he beat Jarrett for the belt in like his 2nd match and the fans in Orlando jumped in the ring to celebrate with him like a college football/basketball game.

Christian is great. He just needs more mic time. Nobody in the WWE can make the guy opposite the ring look better. Absolutely no one. The only reason Del Rio hasn't been in the gutter is because Christian has been making that turd shine.
